“Oh don’t worry. We shouldn’t need to.” Or so Morrigan thought before she dragged the boy into mischief.

Unfortunately their luck was not with them. No Pokémon would bite. Perhaps the crowds on the beach were too large, or perhaps they simply weren’t far enough out.

Whatever the case may be after about an hour or so of swimming and looking around. Morrigan grew bored.

Walking onto the beach, beach sand sticking to her wet feet. She took a moment to pull the water out of her hair. The moment was long enough for her to realize she was getting hungry.

“Well, that was fun. But I am getting hungry.” She took a moment to look at the position of the sun. Deciding that she had enough time to do this, she spoke. “I am going to go find something to eat.“

The Xatu was quick to offer her a skirt and sandals, as if it had foreseen the need to be more presentable for city walking.

“Since you did help, I suppose I could treat you to some food as well. If you want?” Not that Morrigan was going to give Absalom much time to ponder the question.

“Yeah.” Morrigan agreed. “But for some reason they decided we could do with another week of school, and so here we are.” Morrigan stated, a sigh escaping her. Honestly it was such a waste of time.

Xatu nodded, acknowledging the thanks that Absalom gave, before stepping back by Morrigan’s side.

“Eh, it’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it.” She dismissed his worry with an almost blatant disregard for the truth of it.

Now with all of this out of the way, she honestly considered just letting the poor boy be. But since he was here all alone, she felt bad for him. And so, after one doubtful look toward Xatu she turned her gaze to Absalom and said.

“Anyhow. I am going to go see if I can catch some Pokémon in the sea. Do you want to come?”

LOCATION: Slateport Beach.

Morrigan was mildly surprised that the boy so readily accepted what the Xatu would do. Still, she allowed it to apply the sunscreen, though keeping a watchful gaze just in case.

“I am on a field trip with my class.” Morrigan admitted. “Though I snuck away while the teacher wasn’t looking.” Another admittance.

It didn’t take long for Xatu to finish the task handed to her. Once he had, he handed the bottle of sunscreen back to the young boy.

LOCATION: Slateport Beach.

The Xatu nodded in agreement. And the moment the boy put the spray can down for one reason or another, it was quick to grab it and move to gently apply the sunscreen should the boy allow it. It was after all what he had just admitted to be looking for.

Meanwhile Morrigan would hide her annoyance of not being noticed as best she could. “That’s alright.” Morrigan try to reassure. “Are you here alone?” she asked curiously as she kept a watchful gaze on her Xatu.

Though it was not prone to fits of mischief, she would rather be safe than sorry.




MISSION: Prelude to paradiso
LOCATION: Slateport Beach.

A bunch of rowdy school children had been released out onto the beach.

Morrigan was among them. Her class had come here in the name of ‘studying nature’ but she knew better. She knew this was just one big ploy for the teachers to do absolutely nothing while getting paid for it.

Nevertheless she intended to make full use of the day. And so she had scuttled away from the group. Clad in a modest bathing suit and with a far too long t-shirt over. She had done her best to look the part of one of those lowly commoner kids.

Alongside her a Xatu walked, eyes blankly staring into the future as it always did until it caught the whiff of someone in distress. And so he approached the person from which this sensation came.

Its eyes now focused as it greeted the young person with a bird-smile as it cood a question of ‘did you need help?’ in its own Xatu-Speech.

Meanwhile Morrigan followed along gazing upon that which had caught the attention of her Pokémon. She kept a small polite smile on her lips to appear friendly. But she didn’t speak, instead letting the situation unfold.

Vanilla’s reaction pleased Morrigan and intrigued her. But Vanilla’s catering history was a subject she could pry into later. With an almost cocky pleased grin on her lips she would begin to lead their little group onward.

Vanilla posed her a very good question as they reached the entrance-door.

Morrigan nodded as she began. “I do have sufficient time for my hobbies, yeah.” She opened the door with ease, much to the dismay of the servant that had been about to do it.

Morrigan led Vanilla inside and began on a tour of the mansion. “Though not too much. My parents prefer that I focus on more productive endeavors.”


MISSION: SLUMBER PARTY
LOCATION: Rustboro City

Morrigan’s eyes met with Luci’s. A small nod was exchanged as newfound worry forced Morrigan into action.

Alas even Paxton’s Pokémon seemed unsuccessful in waking its trainer from the mist that had taken his mind.

Though Paxton seemed to continue, Morrigan was forced to a halt by her Xatu. Having peaked into the future and gained a glimpse of what could be. It moved to protect its trainer against the mechanical predator and its allies. A light blue hue surrounded the Xatu, warning the enemies to reconsider their next actions.

By the time they reached the tower, Morrigan was heaving for air. Unaccustomed to this level of physical effort, her knees were quivering and her body drenched in sweat.

Xatu was quick to wave some light fresh air into her face with its wings.

And as it did and names were being shared, she was quick to give these kind saviors her own name. “My name is Morrigan Anderson.” She figured there was no need to introduce her Xatu to the two men.

And with that she listened to Paxton’s explanation, not that it made much sense. Robotic Pokémon. That seemed a bit far fetched, but then again she was no expert. Anyhow, something about Paxton caught her attention. It was the way his face changed expression so suddenly before he started to just walk away…

“Uhm, Paxton? Where are you going?” She found herself asking, she looked toward the other man, to see if he had anything to add to this.

Morrigan’s attention moved to the two approaching men, one of them quick to ask if she was here alone. She gave him a nod. Well, her Pokémon was here as well. But she figured he meant human companions.

The other was about to introduce himself when it seemed the Volcanion that she had escaped or was it someone else? Appeared to continue the work they failed at finishing.

By now the Wish Xatu had made, had taken effect healing most of the damages even though the BURNS were still apparent. Yet the psychic bird was quick to forego its own pain and take hold of its trainer and hurry behind the floating Magnezone.

For a moment Xatu considered joining the fight or teleporting away. But it realized neither would do him and his trainer any good. And so when Paxton ordered for them to run for the tower, they did.

“I am not… But my Xatu was hit earlier…” She admitted as they ran..

One might think that Morrigan would have learned not to seek out strange portals to lands far away, after what happened last time. Like so many of her Anderson brethren she was almost pulled into danger like a magnet to metal. Had she at least the common sense to call for help from her older Cousin Laurence Anderson or even her oldest sister Elinor Anderson, one might not blame her for the adventurous spirit.

But she did not. She had gone here with only her wits and her Pokémon to help. And both were found lacking. A bunch of soulless Mechanical Volcanion quickly found her and began to hunt her.

To combat these were only natural. And so she sent out a Xatu who proceeded to fight bravely, defending its trainer from the STEAM ERUPTION’s that they employed as weaponry.

Unfortunately Xatu’s feathers provided little protection against the heat, and so he was quickly BURNED.

The battle was clearly futile. And so Xatu made a decision. Against the orders from its trainer, it quickly grabbed onto her and teleported the both of them away to some random place within the kingdom.

Luckily it seemed to be a quiet place. One that offered Morrigan a moment to inspect the damages to Xatu.

“Alden, are you okay?” Unbecoming worry in her voice.

“Tuuu…” It would reply trying to reassure its trainer, before WISH’ing for its own speedy recovery.

But before the move could take effect it seemed someone found them. A shiny Magnezone was the first thing to catch her attention. Honestly it’s appearance surprised her, and so the singular word that escaped from her mouth was. “Hi?”

The Xatu however seemed less surprised, as if it already knew someone would arrive.

Morrigan would pout, but slowly fade into the background as she allowed Callisto to do her talking. She admitted to herself, albeit begrudgingly, that making a scene out of this would definitely not be wise. Ettie’s ‘pack’ was larger, and so held the upper hand if they decided to get rough.

I’ll just scold Callisto later. She thought.

Had Callisto seen the pout, she might have reacted differently. But alas she was too caught in the conversation she was having with Ettie and her Pokémon.

A bright smile grew on the lizardly-lips as Ettie explained the fiery-proficiency some of her Pokémon had. Though her face quickly became a question mark when Ettie used a word unfamiliar to her.

“Tera-stal-ize?”

But moving on from the unknown word, Ettie began to speak of the things SHE enjoyed. “I am not much for tag or wrestling. I think Faris’ enjoys that more…” Callisto hissed and sizzled her lizardly-words as she made a reference to one of Morrigan’s other Pokémon.
