WHETHER IT WAS DISPLACED BENEATH LITTLEROOT DUE TO DIMENSIONAL ENTANGLEMENT, BROUGHT BACK TO FUNCTIONING ORDER DUE TO DIALGA, OR BOTH, can not be determined. However, this kingdom made entirely out of intricate mechanisms is void of human life. Clockwork gears, iron tunnels, and curious domes make up this kingdom that continues to function like an animatronic music box.[break][break]

Mechanical Pokemon like Magearna, Volcanion and others present in the kingdom seem to be robotic, set to a rhythm or programming like an animatronic figure.[break][break]

Several clock towers loom above the entire kingdom, though their machinery seems to be in disrepair.

He leads luciano fisk through the rift, steps careful as they entered the old, abandoned kingdom. His head swivels as he takes in what he can see from where he is before pointing at the tell tale tower at the center of the city. "There. We're getting as close as we can again to it and see if we can find any documents on the people who lived here before hand." he explained before letting out Joules. [break][break]

The shiny Magnezone floated upwards, hovering over the pair as it beeped for their attention. It then began swiveling, giving an initial check before it's eyes land on another person. Joules drops closer to the ground once more before floating their way over to Morrigan Anderson and given the man electronic greeting.

One might think that Morrigan would have learned not to seek out strange portals to lands far away, after what happened last time. Like so many of her Anderson brethren she was almost pulled into danger like a magnet to metal. Had she at least the common sense to call for help from her older Cousin Laurence Anderson or even her oldest sister Elinor Anderson, one might not blame her for the adventurous spirit.

But she did not. She had gone here with only her wits and her Pokémon to help. And both were found lacking. A bunch of soulless Mechanical Volcanion quickly found her and began to hunt her.

To combat these were only natural. And so she sent out a Xatu who proceeded to fight bravely, defending its trainer from the STEAM ERUPTION’s that they employed as weaponry.

Unfortunately Xatu’s feathers provided little protection against the heat, and so he was quickly BURNED.

The battle was clearly futile. And so Xatu made a decision. Against the orders from its trainer, it quickly grabbed onto her and teleported the both of them away to some random place within the kingdom.

Luckily it seemed to be a quiet place. One that offered Morrigan a moment to inspect the damages to Xatu.

“Alden, are you okay?” Unbecoming worry in her voice.

“Tuuu…” It would reply trying to reassure its trainer, before WISH’ing for its own speedy recovery.

But before the move could take effect it seemed someone found them. A shiny Magnezone was the first thing to catch her attention. Honestly it’s appearance surprised her, and so the singular word that escaped from her mouth was. “Hi?”

The Xatu however seemed less surprised, as if it already knew someone would arrive.

[break][break] As it was, the artist was quite adept at it. After all, he had spent many a summer climbing mountains or traversing river rapids in attempt of chasing after a feeling. Or maybe a feeling of a feeling. The life of a artist was an arduous one indeed.

[break][break] Even so, none quite compared to the allure quite like this. A mechanical kingdom, Concord? Who would have thought?

[break][break] Although Luciano would have been perfectly content with just Concord, his Magneton has other thoughts in mind. Luciano follows more slowly, approaching the young woman who had appeared thusly before them with a tilt of his head.

Paxton approached the young trainer, frowning for a moment as he looked over before around her. "Are you here by yourself, kid?" He slows a bit before the sound of creaking follows as Volcanion, more than the ones she'd already destroyed, appeared. They readied to give chase and Paxtron was in the middle of calling out the order to flee, when he sees the burst of steams surge forth. [break][break]

"Duck!" He reaches for Luci, but he's not quite close enough and superheated steam singes his companion. "Luci?!" [break][break]

Joules is already on the move, floating forward and beeping at both Morrigan Anderson and her Xatu to get behind her with her trainer and Luci. As the guards, rusted from age but still glowing with power, move towards them and send more streams of super hot steam, Joules blasts PROTECT. As big as she can, a large semi opaque wall began to glow, slightly curved as she moved back, beeping urgently at the trio. [break][break]

"Run! Head to the tower!" he said as he carefully grabbed Luci by the other arm to help lead him before turning his head to check the girl. "Are you BURNT as well?"

Morrigan’s attention moved to the two approaching men, one of them quick to ask if she was here alone. She gave him a nod. Well, her Pokémon was here as well. But she figured he meant human companions.

The other was about to introduce himself when it seemed the Volcanion that she had escaped or was it someone else? Appeared to continue the work they failed at finishing.

By now the Wish Xatu had made, had taken effect healing most of the damages even though the BURNS were still apparent. Yet the psychic bird was quick to forego its own pain and take hold of its trainer and hurry behind the floating Magnezone.

For a moment Xatu considered joining the fight or teleporting away. But it realized neither would do him and his trainer any good. And so when Paxton ordered for them to run for the tower, they did.

“I am not… But my Xatu was hit earlier…” She admitted as they ran..

[BREAK][BREAK] his eyes widen with surprise as the bodyguards come racing for them. heartbeat lacing through his ears, he allows paxton concordas to drag him in whichever direction that is necessary for the moment.

[break][break] the sculptor runs alongside the girl and paxton concordas — he may not be particularly athletic, but his long stature allows him to at the very least catch up with them.

[break][break] once they in the safety of the tower, luci takes to catch his breath before looking at the two of them:

[break][break] it's a rare time that luciano caught himself discomposed, but if there was any time for it, the time was now.

They all huddle by the tower, distantly he heard the sounds of more Volcanion guard stomping into the distance. But it sounded like they were going away, not coming forward. After a moment he unzips a pouch and hands the girl a small potion for her bird. "I'm Paxton, this is my friend Luciano." he said, looking at the girl for a name. [break][break]

He turned to Luci before adding, "Volcanion. It's this robotic, steam powered pokemon. Though, the ones here don't seem to be sentient." he explained.

As he's about to say something else, a soft singing and the sound of what seemed like a music box echoed eerily through the courtyard. Joules seemed to be fine, beeping to get the groups attention to a level next to the tower walls. Perhaps they could get inside? They began trying to use their magnets to hammer the level back for the group. Meanwhile Paxtons expression changes, frowning before relaxing as he seemed to zone during the song. Without warning, he stands, and begins to walk away, slow and mechanically like his limbs are struggling to move. [break][break]

By the time they reached the tower, Morrigan was heaving for air. Unaccustomed to this level of physical effort, her knees were quivering and her body drenched in sweat.

Xatu was quick to wave some light fresh air into her face with its wings.

And as it did and names were being shared, she was quick to give these kind saviors her own name. “My name is Morrigan Anderson.” She figured there was no need to introduce her Xatu to the two men.

And with that she listened to Paxton’s explanation, not that it made much sense. Robotic Pokémon. That seemed a bit far fetched, but then again she was no expert. Anyhow, something about Paxton caught her attention. It was the way his face changed expression so suddenly before he started to just walk away…

“Uhm, Paxton? Where are you going?” She found herself asking, she looked toward the other man, to see if he had anything to add to this.

[attr="class","main"] friend. it was an apt a title as any, yet luci could not help from the pang entering his heart at the thought. friend seemed too simplistic, too childish, for the bond they shared and yet the artist could not have come up with one that was better. his discontent at the phrasing would show on his face — whether paxton concordas witnessed it was another matter entirely.

[break][break] "nice to meet you, morrigan. i - paxton? where are you going?"

[break][break] before he could make proper introductions with the young woman, it seemed as if something had possessed the other man. with slowness and mechanical limbs, the blond headed in a direction deeper into the tower. and despite what they yelled for him, there seemed to be nothing stopping him.

[break][break] luci glanced at the young morrigan, meeting eyes with her, before giving a small nod and deciding follow.

He doesn't answer. Doesn't seem to hear Morrigan speak. There's a sudden tilt. Like a click as Paxton's he snaps ever so slightly to the side like he'd heard the young girl before it snaps back and he continues forward. [break][break]

No sound comes from his mouth, and his eyes are half lidded, hazy in the low light. [break][break]

Without meaning to, without being able to stop, Paxton forgets what he's meant to do: PROTECT. He stumbles awkwardly down stone flooring into the tower, making his way straight to the sound of loud clicking. It grows louder and louder as does seemingly the song that had entranced him. in the soft light of sconces, the shining eyes of a robot doll, pink and grey and oh so pretty. One seems to let out a mechanical laugh opening its arms to their new prey. Others turn their attention to the interlopers following where the song hadn't quite taken effect. [break][break]

Joules, is panicked, beeping loudly all the way trying to wake her trainer and clicking at the other two, though they don't take to their coded messages as well as Paxton did. With nothing left, Joules smacks into their trainer, a pokeball dropping from their belt and releasing Connibear, the Mawile who looks around confused as Paxton keeps moving into danger. [break][break]

The Magearna begin to click and whirr using LOCK ON to the group as Paxton moved forward unable to stop despite how hard his body was shaking.

Morrigan’s eyes met with Luci’s. A small nod was exchanged as newfound worry forced Morrigan into action.

Alas even Paxton’s Pokémon seemed unsuccessful in waking its trainer from the mist that had taken his mind.

Though Paxton seemed to continue, Morrigan was forced to a halt by her Xatu. Having peaked into the future and gained a glimpse of what could be. It moved to protect its trainer against the mechanical predator and its allies. A light blue hue surrounded the Xatu, warning the enemies to reconsider their next actions.

[break][break] an uneasy frown worries itself at the corner of luciano's cheeks, as he's left to do nothing but follow his friend down this winding pathway. while paxton's pokemon were there to protect him, and Morrigan Anderson's was there to protect her, there was no one for luci. after all, he had only come down this pathway with paxton.

The GLARE stops Paxton in his tracks, as he manages to turn his head towards Luci as he heard him call out. His eyes meet with Lia's and his body freezes mid step. He almost looks like he's about to fall over. Joules sets into action, casting PROTECT over the humans and their partners, while Connibear slams her legs down and uses ROCK TOMB on the MAGEARNA lying in wait. As the boulders fall just in time, a FLASH CANON meets the rock and some of Joules' barrier but the Magnezone holds fast. [break][break]

Paxton's body shakes as the Magnezone beeps at his teammate and the Mawile begins gestures from the other two to escape while going to her trainer. Joules moves backwards in step with Connie as she slaps the man on the back a couple of times. She noogies the blonde, messing up his hair in a PLAY ROUGH attack as his limbs loosen up as he falls to his knees with her help gasping. [break][break]

"Connie-" he wheezes teal eyes wild as he looks up at his pokemon before locking eyes with the two other people with him. "Go!" he urged as he stood up, shaky at first but going to Luci while the younger trainer took the lead all the way back the way they'd come from. "Back- Back to the rift exit. Before the song plays again-!" he said, still struggling to speak after being locked out of his own motor skills not 10 minutes earlier. His grip on one of Luci's arms is tight, shaking as he took glances backwards, damn near ready to cover Luci's ears with his own hands himself.
