Howard is alive. Barely.

Dewford has survived. Barely.

But neither of those things are certainties, and both lie treacherously close to destruction. The prince, the castle, and the peace are all made of glass. It would take very, very little to shatter them all.

And with the Admin out of commission, it all comes down to the Beast. Not that it was ever really a decision, was it? It would be trivial to sacrifice your friend, trample his wishes, and raze this place to the ground. You're sure Walsh and his Underbosses would have no qualms with that. Hell, they'd probably promote you, set you up in his empty Admin position and leave you with his newly empowered Regice. It doesn't sound that bad. In fact, it sounds pretty good.

But it doesn't sound very Shred.

Still leaning on Grigori Sokolov for support, you reach down and pull out your comms device. Then, as you look Navy in the eye, you begin to speak.

"This is Dread Threatening, reporting in. Our objective is complete. Everyone, out. We'll meet back at the ship." You address the countless grunts under your command, before turning your attention to walter delmar. "Keep the engines warm, Captain. We're not going anywhere just yet."

There's a tense pause after you finish your transmission, but it doesn't take long for the affirmatives and the rogers and the copy thats and the got its to start rolling in. The battle is over. Nobody else has to die today. You hope.

Before you leave, you approach Howard's mangled body. You try to avoid looking at it, though. Instead, you quickly take Regice's Pokeball from it, and click it once. And just like that, the golem returns to you. Not that it was ever yours, mind. Though, maybe it should've been. If it had, none of this would have ever happened.

Oh well. No point crying over spilt milk.

"C'mon, Fisher. Let's get out of here."
