They had both been raised with the understanding that there was nothing worse than being imperfect. Mistakes were inconceivable and they would do well not to fall into the trap of human imperfection. What a stupid thought, as if they could always hold themselves to that standard when humans were inherently imperfect.

He snorted at that, a softer sound than he might have made in the past. "Yeah... we used to do things like this all the time." He'd been young then, of course. A idiot of a kid, but excitable and hyper and goofy. That had changed, of course, they found a way to grind that out of him. He felt so hollow after that point, like a ghost of his former self.

Sen glanced away from her, knowing the answer was likely more so 'as long as it takes until I'm perfect' because it was a hard thing to unlearn. "Yeah, I know... I know."

"No, shut up." The sting of failure, to both his cousin and a child, was bad enough without her digging it in. Even then, he couldn't help but laugh about how stupid it all was. At one time, he might have been entirely too competitive to even see the enjoyment in a loss. Maybe it took a trip to the bottom to appreciate the little things, but that sounded like some garbage his father would tell him so that he accepted his shitty situation.

Getting food sounded like a good idea. He wasn't oblivious to how weird this was though, considering the years they spent not talking to each other. He had believed himself better, for a time, but he knew the truth. There were very few that we bigger losers than him, Yumi wasn't included in the minority either.

Greasy french fries and a burnt corndog still went a long way. He was easy to please, in that regard. "You know, I'm not unaware... that I'm a pain in the ass, you know." He grumbled to her, tone suppressed by the desire to stuff his face until she couldn't hear what he was admitting to. "Dad would tell me he wished I was you, even after you were gone. Even after you fucked up, I still was a greater disappointment for him." He fully wanted to believe that she deserved no explanation, but she probably did. Maybe, a little. It came down to jealousy, didn't it always?

"I know," He snorted, being a cocky prat about it.

She strode off and he followed quickly after, wondering what she would prompt next. Bumper cars. Sen nodded at that, "Okay, sounds fun. Try not to get too upset when I wreck you." Famous last words? Probably.

There wasn't much of a line to wait in so they were let in relatively quickly. The cars buzzed to life and, of course, Sen was quick to target his cousin out of the group. Even if he ended up getting knocked away by what looked like a ten-year-old. He was a bit of a sore loser so wasn't about to let the brat win, or Yumi for that matter.

Woobat waited patiently outside of the attraction for them to return, awestruck by the carnival sounds.

"Ouch way to cut me deep." He said with a faux wince, clutching at his chest. "I guess we'll see about that, wont we?" It was a challenge, but also an empty one. Sen had every intention of cheating his way out of it. The last thing he wanted was to admit defeat or get lost in a mirror maze and have to call Yumi for help. That'd decimate his pride more than it already had been asking her for help the first time.

He split off from Yumi, waving her off before releasing his woobat. She was easily able to direct him through with a mixture of natural batty echolocation and some future sight mingled in there. Though whether or not he'd be the first to escape the maze would be decided in the future. He did, admittedly, smack head first into a few mirrors on the way out, see the exit reflected on a few opposing mirrors and he hoped that Yumi hadn't seen that.

"I win," He said, regardless of the truth. "Now what?"

"I mean I doubt it, probably give you the shits but oh well." He snorted, wondering if Yumi were to proper to take a crude joke. It would be clear delusion to believe they could be the same way as they were when they were kids. Things had changed too much, their lives were different.

Sen sighed dramatically, neck rolling with the sheer dramatic effort to show just how little he wanted to pose for any of her social media posts. Only to pull himself together so that he didn't look like complete trash. He knew how to play the media thirst game as well as she did, maybe it ran in the family (but probably not).

"House of mirrors, I bet you'll get lost staring at your own reflection." He snorted, looping his arm through hers to guide her toward the massive gaudy construction. If anything, he would probably just walk into a mirror about a hundred times and complain a lot, but he hoped that Yumi would do at least one dumb thing to make it worth it.
