As the man before her called the match off, Gubli poked his head out of the ground and looked around. With a soft, playful growl, he crawled out the rest of the way and ran over to Kara who was beaming happily.

"I don't know about champ," she said as she reached down to give Gubli a scratch on his head, "but that was really fun." She was so proud of Gubli and Green for being so strong, but she also knew that that's what it really was. She hadn't done anything but panic the whole time. "We're going to get stronger, though. Then I know I can be just as impressive as them." Reaching out, she gathered up her friends in her arms and gave them all a big hug while the six Pokémon all cheered in their own unique ways.

Finally, after a few moments of enjoying the cuddle, Kara pulled back and turned to look at Navy. "Pokémon Center... do they help Pokémon there? We should definitely go." Green had managed to heal up with Rair's help, and Gubli hadn't really gotten hurt, but she was happy to make sure they all got check ups in case they were sick or something.

"Get down, Gubli!" Her voice carried nothing but panic as Kara watched the pink streak plow through the sandstorm. She didn't know why, but it looked far more dangerous to the little guy than she expected and all she wanted was for him to get out of its way.

For his part, Gubli's figure disappeared entirely. Barely visible but there and the next moment simply gone. Using the storm to hide, he dug deep, getting out of the path of the rampaging rabbit and setting up to strike. With a clap, his trainer cheered as she saw him vanish, grateful that he could do what she asked and not be in trouble.

"He's amazing!"

Kara's eyes opened wide at the generosity offered and she nodded enthusiastically. "Oh my god, really? That would be awesome. I could definitely use the help! You seem to know so much more than me!" Giving an excited bounce, she suddenly jumped over to try and hug the other girl with a squeal. "I'm Kara! What's your name? Or... or I should just call you Hero!"

Just the offer of help was enough to have the teen feeling so much lighter. Her new friend was clearly far more competent than she was, and between the two she was certain this would be a lot easier.

Plus, the advice the girl had given was good. She just needed a way to get their attention and perhaps she even had an idea.

"How about... we show them some Pokémon? If that doesn't hold their attention, I don't know what will."

Listening to the rundown of things Gubli might be able to do, Kara did her best to weigh her options. Honestly, once Navy talked about raising the dragon's evasion, she was pretty much set. Especially since the little bunny he had pulled out seemed to be rather speedy.

"Gubli, give yourself some cover!" She couldn't hold in her excitement as she watched her friend jump forward with a roar. As if from out of nowhere, the entire field was covered in a blistering wind, carrying sand with it that threatened to cut anything within. Anything except the gible which seemed to melt into the storm, becoming almost imperceptible amidst the howling sand.

Watching the two fight was... interesting. Kara was really proud of her little friend, of course, but at the same time she was worried. Green stuck in it, taking the hits even as she dealt them and when all was said and done, it was clear she had won. Still, the trainer didn't like how beat up the Pokémon looked at the end and when it wobbled over to her she couldn't help but sniffle a bit.

"You did really good, but you're so hurt," she said as she leaned down to pick up the little one. Her friends, seeing her upset, decided that was bad. Giving a chirrup, Green let off a soft light as it synthesized light and began to heal. To help the owl, Rair joined in with a soft croon and added to the healing with a pulse of her psychic energy. In the blink of an eye, the rowlet was as good as new and all Kara could do was stand there with her mouth agape.

"You're... you're all so incredible!" she finally cheered as she bounced around with Green in her arms. After a moment, she settled down and put the small bird on the ground with the rest and looked around. "Alright, um... how about Gubli?" she said and gave the dragon a wink. For his part, the gible jumped forward with an adorably menacing growl.

"Haha, yeah, babysitting. Is it that obvious?" Kara couldn't help but grin awkwardly and scratch at the back of her neck. She had to resist the urge to look at her feet, too worried that if she let her gaze move from the children for even a moment, they would get into a lot worse trouble. "It's my first time. Honestly? I thought it was going to be easy because kids are so cute. Like my Pokémon. But they're not the same at all! They're really, really, reeeeeally mean, huh?"

The blonde couldn't help but laugh. She didn't know if all kids were like that, or if she had been mean as a kid, but she had no intention of babysitting again. There wasn't enough money Poké dollars in the world to justify the stress.

"Their parents should be ready to pick them up in an hour or so, so with any luck I don't get one killed before then." For whatever reason, she was being given a slight reprieve. Maybe it was the big Pokémon that accompanied the other girl? Either way, the children seemed suddenly very content to stay on the playground right now.

One scary Pokémon after another had wandered onto their path so far, but this one? It was so cute!

Kara squealed in surprise as she saw it and already imagined it playing with Gubli and Red. Three little dragon friends all adorable together.

She didn't try to battle it or weaken it. Instead she let the charmander out of his ball and sat on the side of the road, playing with them. It was thirty minutes before the little guy wandered close enough to watch them playing. Another hour before Kara backed off and let the little guy play with just her friends. By the time it was night, the trainer had set up a little camp with the help of some of the other Pokémon and whistled for the dragon bros to join her.

Of course they brought their new friend along.

He camped with them and Kara made sure to share food with him just like she did all her other friends and when it was time for bed, she patted a spot next to her amidst the others so he could join. While he didn't join right away, when she woke up in the middle of the night, she was happy to see he was snuggled right up with Gubli.

In the morning she gathered up her friends and offered the little one a Poké ball of his own. When he accepted, she hugged the little dragon close and named him Camelot. Once he was snug inside his Poké ball and off to his new home, Kara was back on the road, ready for her next adventure.

The water hit Green and pushed the little bird back several inches. Even as she gasped, Kara could see it wasn't nearly as painful for the little Pokémon as the previous attack had been. If anything, it seemed to just be holding her friend back.

"Green! You have to get through, okay?" With a loud hoot, the bird nodded and surged forward. Her little leaf bow-tie took on a green glow as it seemed to grow. Slicing the stream in half, the little owl extended the strike further, bringing a leaf blade down at Kizashi. The whole spectacle brought a cheer from her trained who watched with excitement. Now that her friend was on the offensive, it was a lot less scary than before.

"Eep!" the girl squeaked as she watched the little blue thing rush at her friend. "Get out of the way, Green!"

Whether it was instinct or Kara's words the rowlet acted swiftly, ducking to the side but not quite fast enough. The teeth sunk into the into her little wing. With a desperate hoot, she spread both wings and launched herself forward. With the little guy attached, the brace bird flew straight into the side of the arena, willing to use her own body to slam them both against the side wall.

At the sight, the trainer could only squeak again, hands moving to cover her eyes as she watched her friend try and do what she asked.

Mirroring the man, the new trainer moved to step into her spot on the field. With a motion of her hands on the sides of her waist, the Poké balls stored there would fall like they did the night before and release the six monsters stored within. Looking at the little totodile, she thought about what Navy had said and nodded.

"Right, so I want... Green." She gave the little owl-thing a nudge on her tailfeathers and smiled. With a soft chirrup the bird rolled forward and ruffled her feathers at the little lizard. With a smile, Kara looked up at Navy to check that her guess was right. She hadn't seen anything electrical from her friends, but Green was great with leaves and stuff, so she figured that meant she was a grass type. Or an archer from what the man had said the night before but his bird had two types, maybe Green was a grass/archer type?

"Now what?"

Kara nodded along as Navy spoke. She understood that Pokémon were helpful. Her friends had been doing a great job of giving her a hand so far, and she could only imagine how much they could all do together when she knew what all they could do. She didn't like the idea of her friends getting hurt, but some part of her knew that it was something they would probably enjoy.

Leaning down, she gave the little totodile a pat on the head. "Silly thing," the girl said with a giggle before she stood up. "Alright then... show me what to do." That grin was still spread across her lips and she couldn't hold back to anticipation. This was part of her. She didn't know it at first, but now that they were on the precipice? Her whole being vibrated at the chance to show off her friends.

"Oh, I don't think you're that dangerous. Actually, you were being too nice, I think." The girl gave him a little wink. "After everything, seemed silly to have you spend money so I could have a place to sleep when the ground is perfectly fine." She was certain money wasn't that easily come-by that people should be spending it on her.

Her cheerful attitude did take a small hit when Navy explained that he couldn't find anything out about her. Not enough to really frown, but her brow did furrow a bit. If she knew her name and the man could access all the stuff he talked about last night, then surely she had to be findable. Which meant she was some sort of anomaly in modern society OR she had her name wrong.

The latter seemed more likely, but if she wasn't Kara Li, then who was she and was there a Kara?

She let him lead the way as she pondered these thoughts, though at the mention of battle she grinned and turned her attention more fully to him. "I'm not sure but... it sounds exciting."

As soon as everything started, Kara crouched low and planted a hand on the floor. As charizard rose, she couldn't help but grin.

"Okay, Blue, you've got this! Bring him down from there!" Bolstered by the girl's words, the little froakie jumped up and down several times, darting about the field. In just a second, it had gathered several large rocks. With a bounce backwards, Blue let her frog-like arms fling apart and from out of his sticky hands came the stones. Like shuriken they flew, aimed to smack down the dancing dragon and show that the pair weren't playing around.

Though the grin on the trainer's face suggested maybe they were, but that they were still serious.

"I don't know about that," the girl said a bit sheepishly when the man called her a natural. "Your friend here is just so pretty. And I can't imagine being scared of any of them." She had heard stories of people using Pokémon to hurt others, but she hadn't actually seen it. Part of her still wondered if it was true. She didn't think the man who told her was the type to lie, but she couldn't see any point in doing something like that.

"My name's Kara. It's nice to meet you, ah... Josh?" Leaning down, she set the little ralts in her arms down so it could toddle back behind her legs. "Nothing really, just... walking." She didn't really have a good reason to be on her travels other than not knowing where else to go but everywhere. "How about you?"
