The Klefki, sometime during his entrance to the Safari, had slipped in there unnoticed. Blinking, he lifts the keys out, gingerly so as to not hurt the Pokémon, and holds it in-front of his face.

It chimes quietly.

Fletcher taps it with a Safari ball and watches as the orb stills.

[attr="class","snub-fletch"]Nestled in one of the Avalugg's cracks, curled into a ball and napping, Amaura is missed entirely and plummets to the snow as the other Pokémon is captured.

Forcefully awoken, the small creature blinks, head swiveling, then starts to shake. Confused, Fletcher leans down and places a hand atop the dinosaur's head. He was cold, but not cold enough to shudder like this.

"He's scared." He says to no one in particular, likely leaning down too far for his lips to be read. "It's alright little guy." Leaning into his decision, he taps a ball on the Pokemon's head, turning to face the half-typed sentence.

"Do you have an easier way? To talk?"

[attr="class","snub-fletch"]A padded footfall depresses nearby shrubbery and captures Fletcher's attention. He turns, slowly, leveling his stare at the electric-type Pokémon that emerges.

Not one to allow an opportunity like this to escape him, he tosses a Safari ball at the back of the creature's skull. A dull thud echoes for a dozen-or-so feet and, a little anti-climatically, the Pokémon is captured.

Lifting the orb and stuffing it into his bag, he moves on. He wished all of the Pokémon here were of no challenge. How nice that'd be.

Resisting the urge to grumble, he acquiesces, nodding. Their first obstacle presents a problem he wasn't suited to handle. That was, until, Sandslash offers a pair of thin thorns from his back.

"Watch the rear." Grunting, Fletcher kneels and jams boths thorns into the mechanism. After a couple of minutes—half of which he'd done at the peak of an impatient frustration—he gets the door to open.

Pushing it open, he enters it much like he'd clear a building—slow, precise, and with a healthy dose of cautiousness.

"Clear."

The man in-front of him didn't look particularly threatening but things like that could be deceiving.

"Oi." A probing greeting. "Face isn't ringing any bells. Identify yourself." In his other hand he holds a badge, the golden gleam of the shield glistening in dim-light, the acronym 'SPPD' in its center.

Try as it might, it couldn't free itself. An opening forms and Fletcher tosses an orb inside. He drowns out the cries by listening to the robotic voice.

"Deaf?" He blinks, realizing. Fletcher repeats the question only much slower, accentuating his lips so they could read it. "Deaf? Sorry, didn't realize."

As a detective it only made sense he would be sent to investigate.

"Anything?" Sandslash weren't known for their detective abilities but their connection with the earth around them made them especially keen in some areas.

The ground-type shakes his head and Fletcher grimmaces.

[attr="class","snub-fletch"]The SCREECH disorients Rocko just enough to let the subtle flows of HYPNOSIS begin to take hold. But, the indignation of attacking him out of the blue could not be ignored.

As it fades into SLEEP a GYRO BALL can be seen lingering on its sharp-toothed maw. Falling forward, that attack release straight down and directly into the rubber of the back tire.

Fletcher would be pissed beyond measure to see what was about to become of his bike, but he'd understand. Hopefully. The last thoughts of the ground-type settled as sleep took its hold.

This creature was dead the moment the ceiling caved in on it and that could've been moments, days, or even months ago.

"Useless?" He echoes her question with a hardened gaze. "You're too hard on yourself." If Delilah was comparing herself to her brothers, she'd never win.

"Get up. This place isn't stable. We need to leave." He nudges his head to the exist. "If there's anything I've learned in my life it's that there's a time and place for pity and now isn't it."

Harsher than he might've intended but his patience was at its limit with this forsaken place.
