"oh-em-gee, that battle was sooo hard!" momo sighs as she collapses beneath a tree, put out after the huge group raid she'd been a part of just now. though she had the help of some extra moves (cavity-inducing, sugar-pink maniac of happiness receives the following moves: flame charge / play rough / sweet kiss ), it took the entire team's effort to bring down that tinkaton! [break][break]

(and it wasn't just any tinkaton, either. it was definitely aimi, and boy even if this was a dream momo had to have a serious talk with her pokemon in the real world too!! way too violent, way too hard!!) [break][break]

"probably my fault." shigure shrugs, electricity rippling through the bright thunderstreaks on his body, a lengthy tail swaying lazily behind them. "my zebstrika just does what he wants, y'see." [break][break]

"no, it was difficult to come through after such a hard type matchup." the third of the group, a really tall and strong ranger named Mika Nakayama, insists. her flyaway hair reaches in all directions, and momo admits that the aura around her is slightly unsettling... but not so much that she'd say that aloud! "we all did a great job, though. don't beat yourself up over it, shigure." [break][break]

"hehe, mika is right, y'know! we did pretty well! there was a moment where things looked dicey but nothing like a last minute victory, yeah?" the fourth of the group, the julie solette, one of momo's inspirations and more recently, friends, giggles slightly at her own expense. momo doesn't know if her claws and gem-like eyes are scary or beautiful. maybe both! [break][break]

it's such a lovely group. momo is with her sibling, her friend, and her friend's... um, ex? lover? they don't expand on their relationship much, but momo can sense it. love is a beautiful thing and it comes in different forms. she thinks love is in the way that mika's pinkie drifts towards julie's, gently bumping against her fingers, smiling when there's a force that bumps back. love is also in the way that shigure totally popped off in the fight, protecting momo and her pokemon even when tsuki the clefable had access to a fire-type move! he had been so cool during the fight, too! [break][break]

momo's had a lot of fun with this group, and she lets them know this with ease. and as they recover from a battle hard-won, momo gazes up for a moment at the branches above them, spotting a beautiful peach at the very top. mika will probably offer to get it for her, while julie and shigure will watch with bated breaths, and momo will laugh all the while. it'll be such a lovely time with her friends and family!

the courier pokemon seems to be on its last foot. when there are no more explosives or fireworks to be found in its bag, momo breathes a sigh of relief. maybe now they can question the pokemon, or ask why it's being so crazy during the holidays to start with! [break][break]

except now it turns tail and runs, heading for an alleyway. the other people around momo are quick on their feet, chasing the weird delibird and trying to box it in. momo follows behind, wrangling all of her pokemon after it seems the kids are too discouraged to play with the fireworks anymore, or the ones that are left won't cause any trouble behind harmless pyrotechnics. [break][break]

"rem, go over there too, and help out." the rotom flies towards the weird delibird, and uses double team to make multiple copies of itself, and intimidate the courier pokemon into staying right where it is. even if it doesn't work, momo is sure the other adults around her are more than capable of filling in the gaps of her own pokemon's strengths. [break][break]

but also, what the hell is wrong with this thing?! momo just had to know... ~~and maybe it's not actually a delibird after all because aren't delibirds soft so why is this thing all metallic and strange?~~ [break][break]

as the song ends, momo smiles softly, inspired by maki's tutelage and her precision, besides that. it's not easy teaching others, let alone teaching someone like momo who is more enthusiasm than she is discipline. [break][break]

though it seems that maki is quite disciplined and skilled, herself, and momo can't help but wondering in pairs: what can she do for maki in return? the pink-haired girl can gush about contests all she likes, but when it comes to showing maki a truly new and wondrous sight and guiding her through it... she's at a bit of a loss. [break][break]

maki's invitation to dance comes as the most beautiful surprise possible. momo almost chokes up as she says, "y-yes, let's!" she'd love to do nothing more than dance with maki. she takes the other girl's hand, remembering the movements taught to her just now. one invites, the other accepts, and then— [break][break]

solo wild: fighting / normal

"oh, pangoro!" momo exclaims, drawing the attention of the bear pokemon. "sorry, but could you please move?" [break][break]

however, the large panda pokemon does not, in fact, move. it stays where it is, staring determinedly at momo and her pokemon. she looks around at her companions, then laughs in realization. "oh, did you want a fight?" [break][break]

the pangoro nods, and momo nods. "okay, tsuki, you're up!" [break][break]

her clefable bounces in the direction of the pangoro, waving her little hands and cheering. at first glance, it seems like a pokemon of this size couldn't stand up to the massive panda, but— [break][break]

a single moonblast is all it takes to send the panda packing. momo claps at its brave attempt, but not before realizing her heart yearns for this pangoro. to think it would face a pokemon it's double disadvantaged against, and still retain politeness? oh, she just had to take the old girl home with her! [break][break]

so momo catches the pangoro, and rides its back on the way home from the battle resort, her parade of fairies dancing around the newest non-fairy acquisition. [break][break]

what a great day! [break][break]

momo has never been to the battle resort before, but she's ready for any encounters she might have! with a team full of her ab~so~lute~ly cute fairy types, the girl heads out, and keeps her eyes peeled for any wild pokemon that might cross her path! [break][break]

she holds jiri the dedenne in her arms, and squeezes her tightly, as she's the tiniest fairy on the team right now. the rest of the beautiful fairies are out and about, surrounding momo in a protective cloud of their elegant power. at this display, momo laughs, and says, "with you guys at my side, there's nothing i can't face! let's see who we run into today!" it takes momo a few minutes to stand to her feet. her rotom buzzes worriedly around her, and momo waves off its concern with a smile. "that's okay, i'm fine! somehow! i guess that's what you call a christmas miracle?" she definitely shouldn't joke around like that, after being power-hosed by the metallic delibird, but she's still reeling from the initial impact of the hydro pump. "looks like we're not the only ones trying to be normal around here, but why—" [break][break]

BOOM! momo jumps at the sound of a firework going off. she turns to look, and now all the kids are playing with different fireworks! sparklers, roman candles, pop-its, those conspicuous-looking ones written in a different language... uh oh. and they get passed out of the bundle, already lit somehow! this can't be good. [break][break]

"if it's not one thing it's another!" momo groans. "gosh, this delibird really wants to pick a fight, huh?!" they'll deal with the courier pokemon later, though. it's clear there are bigger fish to fry—er, bigger kids, that is. [break][break]

momo runs closer towards the hub of the action, tracking water with each step. she whistles loudly to catch the attention of her other two pokemon. kira and aimi turn in her direction, and she waves to be seen over the bustling crowd. "aimi, kira, pull back and focus on the kids, okay? let's come back for the delibird later!" [break][break]

aimi protests (probably something about how that's not exactly a delibird and should definitely be taken out as soon as possible), but ultimately listens to her trainer's orders with a solemn nod. the tinkaton hits every kid younger than the age of 17 with a knock off attack, scattering remnants of paper, ash, and other firework debris to the floor. meanwhile cherrim bounces away from the ~~iron bundle~~ weird delibird (and the poison-filled splash zone, ewwww), and implants the goodhearted kids with a blast of worry seed, making them too anxious about doing bad things to hold onto flaming sparklers a moment longer. [break][break]

momo feels like she can finally breathe again, and takes this moment to wring out her wet hair and shake herself dry. (and her rotom gives her a lot of space, in the meantime. don't wanna accidentally electrocute the peach!) "do you guys need any help?" she finally asks, speaking to the other responsible adults in the area with her. "i'm here!" [break][break]
