Solo Wild: Normal / Grass / Fairy

The second day of camping! A second chance to meet new pokemon, yet again! Momo starts cleaning her bedspace, folding blankets and fluffing pillows for later tonight. Meanwhile, her pokemon are out and about, stretching into the sunlight to welcome the new day. [break][break]

An errant cry from her clefable alerts her, however, and the coordinator emerges from the tent with a curious look in her eyes. [break][break]

Not too far away from the fire pit, there seems to be a wild pokemon making its way through... [break][break]

GASP. SHOCK AND AWE! NOOOOO WAY! [break][break]

"Igglybuff?!" Momo practically leaps out of her chair at the sight of the fairy-type pokemon, the small thing having drifted in on the nightly breeze. She runs over to greet it, and playfully shakes hands with its little stubs. [break][break]

Oh, this must be her lucky day! "Please, come eat! And if you'd like, you could stay with us after the fact...? Oh, I can't believe this is happening!" She's always wanted a jigglypuff or a pokemon from that same evolutionary line. With the cute baby igglybuff here, Momo can't help but feel like her wish is being granted! [break][break]

And she didn't even need to find Jirachi, for that one! [break][break]

Many pokemon stop by Momo's camp for some food and fun with her party, but of them all, the coordinator cherishes this little igglybuff the most, and catches it in a cute pokeball decorated with stickers by the end of the night. "Tomorrow," she says, "we'll catch even more friends!" [break][break]

"Serperior! Hello!" Momo waves at the snake pokemon slithering from out of the bushes, as it seems even its refined tastes are drawn in by the aroma of freshly-made curry. She laughs joyously, and gestures towards the communal pot of curry. "Be my guest!" [break][break]

The serperior is hesitant at first, but after a little nudging from its fellow grass-types, Leaf and Silver, it goes towards the curry and slurps up a helping from one of the extra bowls laid out. [break][break]

Momo relaxes into her folding chair, and gazes up at the sky. "Wow," she mutters in awe. "What a beautiful night! You can really see all the stars!" [break][break]

"I love camping!!" Momo beams. "Thanks for helping out, everyone!" [break][break]

Her enthusiasm is met by a chorus of cheers. Silver and Leaf had worked together to gather firewood, while Charles had been quick to set the campfire alight with a mouthful of fire fang. Aimi used her hammer to help set the pitons of the tent in place, while Silque had checked and double-checked with her sensitive ears that no threats were around. Finally, Tsuki helped Momo bring out folding chairs in addition to the fallen logs that acted as chairs, as well as cheered on everyone's hard work with a special dance under the moonlight. [break][break]

All in all, it had been a team effort to make this setup what it is, and the girl happily showers her friends with love and affection as a form of gratitude for everything. That, and a hearty helping of curry, which had been cooking low and slow over the campfire for the last two hours. She prepares a serving for each of her pokemon and then herself, and eats deliciously in the peaceful night. [break][break]

Well, almost peaceful. Momo can tell right away when a potential danger is coming, because one minute Charles is curled up into a lazy ball on the ground, and the next, he's seated upright and positioned himself right next to Momo—so much that his soft fur sweeps against her ankles. [break][break]

She finishes another spoonful of curry and rice before glancing at Silver, the sceptile also on high alert but who always tries to play it cool. He might have grown up from his grovyle days, but his behavior is pretty much the same since back then! "Maybe it's a poke-friend who wants to play," she says to him, as though attempting to compromise. "They can probably smell the curry! Let's invite all the wild pokemon to eat, okay? Unless they're violent, then..." [break][break]

But between her sceptile, tinkaton, and stoutland, Momo doesn't think a violent pokemon will last a single moment around her, let alone the whole night. Still, it doesn't hurt to be friendly, even if the wild pokemon are startled. [break][break]

Speaking of which, who could that be, rustling in the bushes over there? [break][break]

She spots the grookey soon enough, and her eyes sparkle brightly at the sight of her. "Hiii! Oh, you cutie, are you hungry for something sweet? Me too, hehe!" She would've been content to hand out another freebie right then and there, thinking this was a wild pokemon that wandered towards the stand, but luckily its trainer arrived not too shortly after that. [break][break]

Momo glances up at the man before her, her too-soft heart already softening some more at the sight of the bond he shares with his pokemon. "Yes, of course! Our mochi is really popular, and our green-tea and strawberry flavors are really popular with grass-type pokemon!" She points at a few colorful boxes packed to the brim with soft mochi and their flavorful fillings. "And I recommend our tiramisu cakes, too! You can get a whole cake or just a slice... the bittersweet flavor is really fun!" [break][break]

And if neither of those sweets were to the other's liking, she had a thousand other options to choose from! [break][break]

Mission: The Great Hoenn Bake Off

"Cookies, cakes, and anything else that can be baked—we've got everything you need here!" Momo calls out brightly into the crowd, waving and smiling as more people are drawn to her little table. Madeline the Milcery impresses all the onlookers from her baking prowess, alone, but Momo's other pokemon are certainly working hard to attract attention, as well. [break][break]

While the little milcery prepares a fresh batch of dough for cakes to be baked on the spot, Momo's sylveon, ribombee, and polteageist dance and twirl in the middle of this space for all the passersby to see. A combination of Silque's misty terrain and Velvet's sweet scent work to create a beautiful aura of glittering pinks and golds that effuses into the air, swirling stardust and aromatic honeysuckle filling the air. Meanwhile, Rose passes out samples—delicious sugar cookies, cut into stars and hearts—to everyone gathered in the square. [break][break]

To say it's a lively bake sale is a gross understatement, but Momo is simply glad that she's able to help the cause! "Hehe, if you guys like the sugar cookies, we're selling those ones at a discounted price if you buy in bulk! Please support your local arts and contest halls! Thank you so much!" [break][break]

While a lot of people are enamored by the display, more of them are content to ooh and aah rather than actually buy something from Momo. Which, is fine, because it means she has time to gaze into the crowd, and make sure that no hungry customer is left unfed! Does anyone stand out to her right now...?

she's pulled into an embrace. momo hugs back with all the force in the world, too much like a little stufful with half as much strength as the bear pokemon are known to have. she nuzzles into genny's shoulder, a pleasant pink color filling her cheeks and a warmth blossoming from her heart. [break][break]

"you're the best, big sis genny!" and when she lets go, her smile brightens even more at the sight of the vaporeon, choosing to go with genny in the end. momo nods at the eevolution before it completely disappears within the capsule, as though to reassure it that you're making the right choice. [break][break]

she beams up at genny, bright and pink as a rose. "okay, let's go! together! maybe we can even get multiple outfits? we should be matching too, that would be so cute!" it'd be easy to worry about what other strange things could happen, but momo knows that with big sis genny, she's safer than safe. [break][break]

blood siblings or not, the way she feels towards the older woman is real, and she wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world.

birth by sleep

when momo receives the gift, she doesn't expect the world to change so suddenly yet again, but it does and she's there. she's gone in a flash, her fast friends disappearing faster behind her, dragged back to the place where it all started. [break][break]

this is a memory she'd hardly forget. she is in her first home, a cozy little house in kanto's lavender town. her parents are idling away in the kitchen, preparing lunch, while momo sits in front of the television set, cross-legged and wide-eyed at the wonders being displayed on the screen. [break][break]

a contest, for all the world to see! up next is the latest star of the region, a silver-haired beauty with a flowing white dress. and in a flash of light, their partner rises to the stage, twirling elegantly without missing a beat. [break][break]

it's a cincinno! it's adorable! momo remembers her initial reaction, how her little heart seized and her voice squeaked at the sight of something so adorable. cincinno fluffs its neck fur, and the crowd coos at its cuteness. momo thinks she'd like to be just like that coordinator and their cincinno! in fact, she could even go out and catch the pokemon for herself if she wanted to! [break][break]

(but come now, momo, her mother will say distantly. it's time to eat.) [break][break]

so instead, she takes to the neighborhood, asking around if anyone wants to go looking for pokemon near the edge of town. and when it comes to protecting a young momo against foolish ideas while also holding her hand through the entire ordeal, there is no better companion than SHIGURE URUHA. [break][break]

(even from such a young age, she always looked up to him, and felt kinship bloom as warmth between their hands, between her excitable laugh and his witty humor. momo had been born an only child, but the universe was still kind to her in many ways. they gave her a sibling, they just made her wait a little longer to meet them. their little hands squeezing hard against each other, curious eyes searching for all the magic in the world and the ways they could grasp it.) "i don't think there's a cincinno out here," shigure says. [break][break]

momo laughs. "that's fine," she admits. "thank you for coming with me." [break][break]

(but in another world, if they find that cincinno somehow, momo thinks she'd like to show it to shigure. as though to thank him for protecting her dream from even back then.) [break][break]

tsuki the clefable stands resolute. she shines with something pure and happy, and momo follows that light, curious despite the dangers. the fairy pokemon holds out her hand, and momo takes it in her own. "tsuki?" she finally asks. "what is it?" [break][break]

yet the answer is made clear. everything in the world starts to lose its color, dullness flooding away the vibrancy, hues lost to the nebulous dark. and there, standing in front of her, is a formless being. some shadowed creature that's only a poor imitation of something so much grander and widespread than momo can ever hope to understand. [break][break]

team rocket. the shadows of her heart, the name that brings her fear, the group that digs its claws deep into a place and doesn't let it go. she's never been in their ranks, but she doesn't have to in order to understand what their presence here means. they had their start in kanto, after all. their members are not just faceless creatures with no names, but people with families, friends, loved ones, hopes and futures. they are people she knows, and yet her pure gaze is too distracted by what's in front of her, that even in dreams she fails to see the shadows that coil behind her, too. the ones that gently wrap around a friend most dear, the one who'd watched over her since their childhood, ebbing-and-flowing with momo's perpetual streaming heart. SHIGURE URUHA, Julie Solette, and Mika Nakayama all remain still behind her. momo doesn't remember to look at them, can't bring herself to meet the gaze of anyone except for those she never looks at directly. people and pokemon that have their own ambitions, futures, and desires, too. momo has her eyes and ears shielded, the magnet bomb going off with a BOOM! she opens one eye and sees something incredible happening, and maybe for the last time: the remaining iron bundle driving a postage truck, crashing through anything to get anywhere! [break][break]

"oh no, you're staying right here!" momo cries out, ordering her two remaining pokemon at once. "rem, use discharge and fry that truck! kira, use leafage to try and get the wheels stuck!" [break][break]

her two pokemon sprang into action, the cherrim running as fast as her little legs will take her, whirlwinds of leaves sprouting from her body and shooting towards the wheels of the postage truck. then her shiny rotom zaps through the air, building up a huge electric attack in tandem with the other girl's thunderbolt. [break][break]

as lights, leaves, and people scatter before them, momo breaks into a sprint, hoping that somehow her pure determination on legs will let her match pace with a shuckling truck! [break][break]

a surge of confidence passes through momo at the sight of the smaller iron bundle powering down. all this hard work is finally starting to amount to something! [break][break]

but they're not done, yet. the girl with the ultra beast commands her pokemon to gather power, while miss elise (momo thinks that's her, anyway, she's never seen royalty up close before!) sends orders her pokemon to both protect and defend. the hydro pump might not be as huge of a threat to deal with anymore, but that didn't make the magnet bomb attack any less intimidating, either. [break][break]

as the man's lucario attacks the remaining iron bundle with a fast attack, momo realizes she shouldn't just stand there staring, either. "rem, use hex on that courier! and kira, come back out and use petal blizzard against that magnet bomb attack!" [break][break]

her rotom fires itself up, narrowing down the ghostly energy into a grudge-like hex onto the futuristic pokemon. meanwhile, kira the cherrim re-emerges in a shower of light, and becomes a petal flurry as it runs towards the magnet bomb, hoping to offset some of the power with its resistance to the harsher metals in life. [break][break]
