Shrugging it off, Seb decided to let Alpha start the battle. As he had with literally every battle he had been in (except one), Alpha set up with a Tailwind to get a nice speed boost for the later battle.

In the end, Alpha falls.[break][break]

The Talonflame is tucked safely inside of his pokeball. Seb gives Doug an reproachful look, much like a wounded cat might look at a hand offering it food. Expecting a slap for trying but not leaving, either.[break][break]

In the end, he takes the other's hand and gives it a firm, but short, shake.[break][break]

"I'm a professional racer. This isn't my normal scene."[break][break]

Seb scratched his cheek, shifting from foot to foot. Some of that nervousness from earlier back in his body.[break][break]

"Good luck in the tourney." Is what he closed with, stilted and awkward, his Kalosian accent thicker on this tongue than it had been before.

Humming, Seb's eyes followed the motion to really take in the clothes....[break][break]

"I dunno, it looks kind of like a weird cosplay." Seb shook his head, not seeing the appeal. But, Sygna Suits weren't really very far spread outside of Hoenn itself, so he didn't really understand what he was looking at. "Is it some Hoenn Fashion Brand? 'Sygna'...?"[break][break]

Alpha did his best to rise above the coins again, but this Espeon was pretty fast! Still, he tried to come in again with a fancy little Acrobatic trick.

It was a closer battle than Seb had expected; and not to slight on the other trainer. He just wasn't a battler. His pokemon had been bred and trained for racing since he was a chick, not for this kind of fighting. Seb was impressed that Alpha had managed to keep up as well as he had at all during all his matches.[break][break]

With one last hoo-rah, the Talonflame lit himself on fire. A ball of glory, he raced at the Scyther, turning sideways to try and slide through the gap again and land his Flame Charge. But, it might have been too narrow this time...

Then Shalin approached, pulling Seb attention away from his pokemon. The big bird had landed and tucked himself against the human's chest, demanding pets and attention which the man gladly gave.[break][break]

"Oh, uh. Yeah. I race pokemon professionally. You don't see many custom mount saddles."[break][break]

Sebastian was about to let it go, then remembered why he had even signed up for the Tourney in the first place.[break][break]

Alpha was strong and fast but rather fragile. He would need to do everything in his power to keep from getting hit with such a strong move or he would drop like a sack of bricks.[break][break]

He picked up a Quick Attack, trying to dart just out of reach and slap the Beedrill back- even if it was just chip damage, it would add up over time.
