It was another one of those super powerful moves. His last match had used one as well; Alpha couldn't even compete and got swept away like it was nothing.[break][break]

But, at least this time Seb and Alpha knew what was coming... kind of.[break][break]

Alpha wasn't one to be taken down on a challenge of speed, though! So, fluttering in the air a moment, he charged forward with a Quick Attack to try and knock into the steel type.

Being grounded was, like, the last thing that Alpha needed. He was strong and fast but pretty fragile, all things considered. With one of his advantages taken away, he would be a sitting duck.[break][break]
Maybe if he could stay away from this big paws and deal some damage with an Acrobatics, he would be able to stay in this a bit longer. And perhaps even cinch the victory.

Pursing his lips, Seb watched as the Beedrill Mega Evolved. It was a rarely seen technique in his line of work. Only a select few pokemon with the capability were viable for fast flying or Pokemon races in general. The ones he saw were far and few between; all that to say that Beedrill was a new one for him.[break][break]

"Don't back down." Was ordered to Alpha, though he didn't know if his pokemon could hear it over the wing beats.[break][break]

Regardless, Alpha wasn't going to lay down and lose. He dipped and darted with an Acrobatics, trying to keep the other pokemon from hitting him.

Seb mostly just looked very put out by his pokemon when he glanced at the battle again. His foot had started to tap with some nervous frustration on the ground.[break][break]

Alpha, meanwhile, flicked his tail at Lancellette as she dove for him with a Brave Bird. While not a move he could match exactly, he still allowed his body to spark up with a Flame Charge, intending to meet the other head on. As if that would help his chances.

Two booms. Alpha was fast and he was strong; but he was pretty weak to big hits like that. His best defense was to never get hit to start with.[break][break]

Dipping and flying, he tried to turn sideways in the air while launching into a Quick Attack. His goal was to fly between the two sonic bursts and strike the Scyther again.

"Full of tricks." Seb says more to himself, but Toshiaki is sure to hear it. A fire type with an electric move wasn't the weirdest thing Seb had seen, but it wasn't very common.[break][break]

But, the Arcanine wasn't the only one with tricks. Electricity charged in the air from the Wild Charge. Alpha did his best to pull away and Feint to try and avoid the dangerous shocks.

The Pressure from the other pokemon fell on him, but Alpha refused to let himself be beat. Actually, for some reason he found he wanted to impress the Corviknight.[break][break]

Instead of doing his usual move, Alpha launched himself right at the attack with one in turn; his own Steel Wing to try and meet the Corviknight's in the middle.[break][break]

Seb watched his pokemon, then blanched.[break][break]

"God, why now." The other sighed and covered his eyes with a hand.

Another small nod was given to Doug, a tilts of the head as he watched the Scyther and his Talonflame dance.[break][break]

The look on his face screamed nonchalance; like Doug and his pokemon weren't anything. But, his body betrayed him as it usually did. Arms crossed tight, foot tapping with a nervous energy.[break][break]

You see, Sabastian was not a pokemon battler. He'd only participated by encouragement of luka chêne, who perhaps wanted him out of her hair for a bit. Or, maybe, just felt bad he didn't have any friends (except for her).[break][break]

Alpha would give him damnest, though. He started off this battle as he had every other one, kicking up a Tailwind as he beat wings to pull himself back into the air. Maybe if he was fast enough, the other pokemon would miss and hurt itself.

Sharp teeth try to bite into the tender meat of Alpha's wing.[break][break]

The Talonflame is quick to react, using a Steel Wing to keep the bite from doing more than ruffle feathers. It still hurts, don't get him wrong, but those bones were delicate.[break][break]

"Keep up, Alpha!" Seb calls from the sidelines, his own brand of encouragement.
