As Eden calmed down and his other pokemon settled, including Nyx who soon roosted in a nearby pile of freshly grown leaves in a small tree, Aaron began to cook. Zachary watched in mild interest, having not seen a portable cooking set. It had been forever since he had cooked a real meal. The best food he got was when he stayed at a city or Pokemon Center. He had loved to cook-- and still did, but have yet to try to cook out in a campsite. "How in the world do you even set up a cooking station here in the wild like that? I couldn't believe working on it without a stove or countertop to work with ingredients, let alone travel without refrigerating fresh ingredients for that matter." Zachary asked. [break][break] The memories of Zachary and Dizzy in the kitchen, put the Delphox in a hungry mood as his stomach audibly growled, making the fox blush with embarrassment. [break][break] The food was really interesting to see displayed. Seemed Arron was a bit of a cook too, and beat the simple pokemon poffins, food and rations Zachary brought for himself. His own stomach growled with interest as he soon joined in-- but not before his surrounding Pokemon jumped and almost steam-rolled over him to get some! [break][break] Dizzy happily ate the food, followed by Nyx, and Espeon nibbling on the salad. [break][break] Zachary took his share, gingerly eating it. It felt nice to have a hot meal out in the wilds. "How did you learn to cook suitable for a camp site? I'd love to know. I used to cook a lot myself but it usually is better for me when in an actual kitchen." Zachary said as his Pokemon all enjoyed their meals. [break][break] It was a rare moment of peace, while in this place. [break][break]

Zachary had begun to travel around the Western area of Hoenn after his impacts with the area of the abduction and Area Zero. Alot had happened since then, and it was a while since Zachary left the safety of the city. Having fully recovered, he was back on the road. Sadly, Josh had to return to the gym and follow up on events left unchecked since his 'absence'. Interested to get back into the swing of things-- he took on a mission with the interest to learn more about Tera Shards/Tera Crystals. He had called Prof. Yew, who had suggested deposits existed in the western mines, so there he was. With Dizzy and his new companion, Nyx the Hoothoot in toe, they journeyed towards the mines where the Tera Crystals were...[break][break] Except most of it was already emptied out by Rocket intervention. Unaware, he was walking into a trap. [break][break]

[break][break] In a dark room, lit by a few monitors, A woman in a white and black laced lab coat looked up into the dark. In her hand was a Rontom phone, having just ended a call with her contact. "Yes, of course. While rumors of Tera Crystals in that region is scarse, its not impossible. Do keep me posted what you discover. Don't hesitate to call if you encounter any problems, my dear. Take care," she spoke and soon terminated the call. Her expression then changed from kind to cold and analytical as she put away her phone. The call to Zachary Stellar was over, and her guise dropped from that of the Pokemon Researcher. [break][break] She soon heard footsteps coming down towards the room where she was and soon glanced to see her new visitor. "I see you answered my request. I trust you are up for the task of taking on a foe to Rocket's Purpose? Are you not?" the woman asked, not bothering to turn around fully, but acknowledged the stranger's presence. She had made a request for a grunt to assist her in her 'experiment' and the goal she had in mind. [break][break] Either way, she was a cautious and calculating person-- and the goal in front of her was something she would adapt to, one way or another. If this person was a willing accomplice, the better to determine her goals. He would be aware of her status as an undercover spy in the league, but any more she would have to share with him should he ask. [break][break]

The last move was in instinct. It was in defense to his partner-- Zachary had not meant to make this a one-sided display but Happy's Dazzling Gleam was SUPER-EFFECTIVE. The result sent the giant dark panda flying and knocked out. [break][break] Zachary was stunned as he looked forward, seeing his two pokemon, also baffled. "I... I won?" Zachary asked. This was his FIRST WIN since the start of his journey. His first official win in a trainer battle and he couldn't believe it. All his practice, his study, his training with Happy and Prophet had paid off! [break][break] His shock of thought was interrupted by Edwardo coming over and congratulating him. Zachary blinked but extended a hand to shake the bigger man's, happy to accept it. "Um... thanks. You're pokemon were impressive too. I loved your Pangoro. If a bit scary. Sorry if Xatu's Miracle Eye threw a wrench into your work. As a psychic trainer, I have to prepare when I encounter Dark types like that," he replied shyly, rubbing the back of his neck in a modest gesture. [break][break] Dizzy gave a bark at Zachary, eagerly having the boy shape up and be more confident in himself in that moment. Accept the compliment! [break][break] Happy cheered as he danced around Zachary, happy too to have won--- while Prphet had once again fallen asleep, now snoozing away. [break][break] Zachary and the others looked at the Xatu with confusion and annoyance. "Oh, Prophet, what am I going to do with you?" Zachary commented as he took its Pokeball and returned the Xatu to rest inside it. [break][break]

The battle field literally erupted with the eruptions of psychic and fire power. The sprinklers went off. The ground shook from the violent explosion and both flame and steam gushed everywhere, including the results of Dizzy's Future Sight attack! The result sent a heated shockwave through the whole battlefield, eclipsing them all. Zachary couldn't see Sylveon -- but soon saw as Dizzy was thrown clear from the explosion of two super-charged Mystical Fires! Dizzy skiddedn and tumbled onto his back, clearly having taken a strong blow from both conjunctive attacks. The sprinklers too added to it as soon Dizzy lied there, unmoving. [break][break] "Dizzy!" Zachary cried as he ran over to Dizzy. By the time he and Happy reached him, the Terastellization on his body soon shattered-- bits of ruby specks flying into the air as Dizzy reverted back to his original fur sheen. He gave a weak groan as he was in a daze, clearly knocked from the battle. He too-- had lost. [break][break] Zachary was stunned as he reached for Dizzy, having felt so confident to win. Even in his foul up with his Kadabra, Tarot... he had lost. Did he lose? it happened so fast, he didn't even see the results of his opponent. His momentary concern was for Dizzy who was beside him now. After a moment, Dizzy cracked his eyes open, staring up at Zachary and sighed-- realizing he lost too. [break][break] "I'm sorry, buddy. You did great." Zachary said, scratching Dizzy's head and behind his big ears. The Fox let out a soft 'purr' as he laid there to recover from the violent shock and throw. [break][break] As Josh finally was visible, he could see somewhat of the battlefield. "So? WHat's the verdict? Who won?" Zachary asked, honestly baffled! [break][break]

As they all calmed down and things mellowed out-- for the moment-- the Alola Ninetails Letheia finally composed itself as most ninetails would. As her trainer and Zachary conversed surrounding the Alola Ninetails Zachary brought, the lovely ninetails took interest in Zachary's Delphox. It gazed at Dizzy from her distance, finding him rather upright and regal too in his own way. Curious and liking him, the nintails slowly approached the part of the clearing where the fox was. The ninetails soon gave a soft bark to Dizzy, greeting him. Dizzy cocked his head, curious by her approach. [break][break] As the two foxes got to know one another-- Zachary looked as Shalin founded over Hermes. Without even hesitating, the Alola Raichu floated up to Shalin and began to rub against her like an affectionate pet. The mention of a 'wild ride' made his little cheeks turn red in embarrassment. [break][break] "Um... Hermes, what's going on in that little head of yours?" Zachary questioned, just wondering why Hermes was so taken. In truth, he loved to be fawned over by the ladies and naturally Shalin was a very pretty trainer too. Hermes had no problem cozying up to her. [break][break]

The appearance of the Dragonair was a welcomed surprise as Zachary ran for the injured Hoothoot. The Honchcrow was eager to attack, even Zachary for defying its rule-- till the Dragonair released a lightning attack! The bolt would of been dangerous to any bird as it flunched and jumped to evade the lightning. With an angry crow-- the black bird fluttered in the air and turn-tailed to run. [break][break] Dizzy and and Wendy soon joined Zachary. They heard the Honchrow give an angry caw and flew out of sight through the trees, leaving them alone. The fight had caused a few pokemon to scatter around, but luckily no one was hurt. A sigh escaped Zachary as Wendy asked if Zachary was okay. [break][break] "Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry..." Zachary said as he looked down to the Hoothoot on the ground. The bird had a teary look in its eyes, and more important-- a bad gash along its wing. Zachary's face widened with shock as he soon saw the poor bird injured by the Honchcrow . "Oh no... Hoothoot. Are you hurt? " Zachary asked, only getting calls from the bird. It wouldn't move its wing as fast, now properly grounded. [break][break] Dizzy gave a compassionate whine, feeling bad for the little owl. Even more so that Honchcrow seemed more interested in stealing the food away from it, and punished it for good measure. [break][break] Zachary turned to Wendy, wondering if she had anything to help. "Wendy, do you perhaps have any Poffins that are made of Oron berries? " Zachary asked, as he soon took off his bag, digging for a potion. He didn't have many but he was determine to use it to help the poor bird. [break][break] The poor hoothoot looked not just hurt physically, but emotionally too to be bullied like that. [break][break] Knowing that Potions could often sting, Zachary took out some of his own rags and began to soak them into the potion. Using it, he then made a small bandage, and tried to tie it around Hoothoot's little wing. While not a perfect job, the bird winced at the burn-- but didn't move away. "There, there... its okay." Zachary urged, hoping that Wendy had a poffin she could spare for Hoothoot too. [break][break]

As the attacks landed, Zachary ran for it, along with his pokemon. Vivianne's enchanting voice in fact put the enemy into a slower state of response, even as the second one started to lurch forward. With Aaron's grip on his wrist, Zachary kept up, followed by Dizzy and Nyx fluttering behind them. Even as Vivianne protected them, they soon reached the end of the bridge. [break][break] Josh was quick to act! In soon activity, he opened Phantom FOrce. In a creative means, he opened a direct portal that led back to the camp. "Wait a second. I thought only the Pokemon who made it could go through? We can't--" Zachary soon was interrupted by a violent cry from one of the Golurk, attempting to build a 'cannon' of itself, preparing for a big attack! Seeing it, Zachary felt it was best not to act. "Grrr-- oh to hell with it!" [break][break] Dizzy soon hopped through the portal, followed by Nyx flying into it as well. Zachary was about to go but soon saw Vivianne holding the rear, trying to keep the golems at bay. "Vivianne hurry, we got to go!" Zachary shouted. Realizing she was trying to protect them, Zachary took his Pokeball for her and soon recalled her. She vanished from sight and back into the ball. With that, Zachary dove into the portal head first, hoping it would close behind him. [break][break] Zachary landed on the grassy terrain as the portal clowed, as they were now safe back at the camp site. As he laid there, he was soon greeted by the familiar face of his Leafeon, Eden. The Leafeon gave a worried, patronizng cry as she came over and looked him over. Worried he was hurt, she started to lick his cheek in an attempt to help him. [break][break] "Brah! Bleh-- Eden, I'm fine! Sorry," Zachary said as he soon got up. The worry was clear on the Leafeon, concerned if Zachary was not coming back. She continued to lean up, licking his check. "Ahk, stop it... hahah! Sorry if I made you worry. Did you think I wasn't coming back for you?" [break][break] Aaron had no way of knowing this-- but Leafeon was once an abused and abandoned Eevee left alone in the forests to central hoenn. It grew up into a Leafeon and acted as a protector to other pokemon who called the forest home. Upon meeting Zachary, he was able to calm the Leafeon and ensure their safety by making a berry farm, allowing them to live there in peace. [break][break] The garden was now overgrown with great greenery, from trees and shrubs, to even trees with berries. Eden really was a gifted Leafeon, brimming with vitality for plantlife. [break][break]

Zachary crossed his arms against his chest, taking offense to 'copying' him. He choose Hermies for his own reasons, but he got why he thought that. Still an evolved Pokemon, had an edge. That wasn't to say he knew that pokemon who didn't evolve were no more tougher. Still, it gave some edge. [break][break] "Well, whatever you can do, I can do better!" Zachary said proudly as he got ready to battle. Raichu too was ready to go! [break][break] However-- it seemed 'first blood' belonged to the stranger as he soon charged and attacked with Quick Attack. [break][break] Hermes got hit quick, taking a swift hit to the gut and making the bigger Alola Raichu skid back using his board to stay in the air. Hermes gave an angry glare back at the Pikachu and the trainer. [break][break] "I hope you enjoyed that, cause that's the last hit you get!" Zachary declared and raised a hand. "Hermes-- ELECTRIC TERRAIN!"[break][break] "Raaaai!!" Raichu cried with resolve, sparking with electricity. The Raichu soon built up electricity and released it-- surging all across the ground around them! The pikachu would observe as the ground below them glowed with an electric sheen of light, sparks occasionally snapping out at the ground for no reason. [break][break] This was one of Hermes best places to be. With Electric Terrain, his full powers of his ability was awakened. Surge Surfer, which offered a far superior boost in speed than even Quick Attack could perhaps offer. With this, Hermes was now the swiftest thing in the battle. [break][break] Hermes then began to 'surf' along the ground, growing faster and faster, now providing to be a far quicker, moving target. [break][break]

Raichu's stunt cost them a bit of a lead as Josh and the Houndoom shot across them, leaving them in their dust. That got Hermes mad as Hermes saw them passed him. Sparks discharged from his cheeks and soon picked back up speed, determine to catch up with them while Zachary kept close and a hand on his partner's back! [break][break] They soon passed the first lap! As they passed, Dizzy and the others watched intently, cheering and waving at Zachary and Hermes. They encouraged him to keep going and win! However with their passing of the first lap, meant that more things were going to get interesting. Even Hermes was determine to make this a win and get serious. They now were free to use their speed-enhancing moves, as per the announcer's instructions! [break][break] As they began to enter the two-big turns from the start of the course, they soon saw it. They soon saw the bridge retract, providing the need for a very large jump! Zachary's eyes widened at that. "Well, that makes things more challenging!" Zachary shouted. [break][break] "Raiiiii!" Hermies replied, voicing his agreement as they were near the last turn. [break][break] Now free to act, Zachary got ready. "Hermes it's time for that strategy we discussed? You ready?!" Zachary said, leaning into Hermes to reach ahead. [break][break] Hermies black eyes soon lit up with excitement, remembering the talk and eager to do it. It let out a roudy cheer that he gave a small hop on his board. [break][break] Reaching forward, Zachary aimed his arm forward as they were in the last turn, into the straight where the bridge used to be! "Now Hermes! Time for Electro-pad!" [break][break] "Raaaai!" Raichu cheered and soon raised its little arms upward. From there, a ball of electricity formed, looking similar to Electro Ball. As it charged up, they got to the straight, now a straight line to the now missing bridge. Raichu then gave the orb a strong throw-- firing it to the spot right where the track ended! [break][break] The orb flew forward and hit the ground, discharging with a flash! As it did, electricity permeated the ground in a large patch! Electricity crackled from the ground, looking like a wire underground had come loose. [break][break] "Go, Hermes!" Zachary urged, and the excited Alola Raichu rode forward with the others, attempting to jump through the electrified field! [break][break] Zachary had Hermes combine Electro Ball in order to launch a 'projectile' version of one more. Electric Terrain. Using it, Hermies could use his unique ability that only he possessed. [break][break] Surge Surfer![break][break] Hermes flew across the surface of the electric field. In that instant, lightning crackled beneath him, similar to a 'rail gun' effect as he passed over the electrified ground! The speed violently increased, testing their inertia as they were catapulted forward with great force-- up and over the now gone bridge! [break][break] The electric terrain for Hermes, acted like a giant boost pad, rocketing the Raichu up and over, at a breath-taking speed! Zachary felt the shot in inertia even with Hermes psychic hold on him as they two went flying skyward, now high over the track with that spring-board like effect and shot as if they were sent through a cannon! [break][break] Both Hermes and Zachary looked in amazement as they were now several meters above the track, having a clear view of the scene as they were overhead. "Wow, HERMES! This is incredible! It worked!" Zachary cheered. [break][break] "Rai-CHUU!!" Hermies cheered, practically dancing on his little tail in the thrill to go so fast and high up as if they were flying. They soon began to descend slowly-- until Zachary realized something. He looked to the cheering Alola Raichu as he waved down below to the crowd and other racers. "Um... wait, Hermies? You do know how to land right?" [break][break] Hermies froze mid-cheer, his face frozen too at the question. He didn't respond just yet, but soon turned around sheepishly. He had a weak smile on his face, and sweat dripping down the side of his face. [break][break] Their descent became a plummet as gravity took back hold of them! "YOU'RE KIDDING MEEEEEEEEE!!" Zachary screamed, Raichu's cry following suit. [break][break]

From the bleachers, Dizzy and Kadabra looked how they were high into the sky, with Happy using his little hand to look up as they began to fall, amazed how high they were. All the while Prophet and Spriggatito sunbathed, not that attentive to the immediate moment.

[break][break] Raichu quickly waved his little arms, as if trying to 'fly' but that wasn't going to do any good as they soon approached back to the ground of the track, risking a very messy tumble if they hit! [break][break] "THUNDERBOLT NOW!!" Zachary cried, almost pure instinct! [break][break] Raichu didn't even hesitate as he gathered his energy. "Raaaaii--CHUUUU!!!" Raichu produced a powerful Thunderbolt, aimed below of them where they flew. [break][break] The resulting Thunderbolt struck the ground, acting as a cushon as it softened their descent and landing. The moment they slowed down, Hermies stopped the bolt and kicked off with a burst of psychic force, flying back down the course. [break][break] Zachary let out a breath of relief as they sped forward, the 'electric launch pad' working a little better than they thought. "Well... that was close," Zachary sighed, relieved they didn't crash from the air. [break][break] "Rai..." Hermies replied in kind, agreeing but still moved forward, intending to leave the others in HIS DUST NOW. His energy returned to his face and entered the next part of the course! [break][break][break][break]

✦ Electropad speeds and rockets them over the bridge like a RAILGUN! However it puts them so high this time-- they risk crashing as they land. They use Thunderbolt to soften their landing and kick off back moving at high speed! [break]

Josh didn't even crack a laugh at the "Ultra-Rare Shiny Foil" crack but this was a battle-- and now Zachary could tell how serious Josh was to win. So was he, and so was Dizzy. With this power boost, Zachary felt confident he could turn the tides of battle! [break][break] However-- then something happened Zachary didn't expect. The Sylpheon soon released a powerful attack. "Mystical Fire!?" [break][break] "Seriously?! It knows Mystical Fire?!" Zachary exclaimed, unable to understand how it could know that one. Happy beside him was in equal surprise, his little face showing excessive surprise and cheering for Dizzy to overcome it. [break][break] Dizzy too was concerned, but kept his focus as he saw the flame attack coming. "Show them what we got, Dizzy! You use Mystical Fire too!" Zachary shouted. [break][break] Dizzy let out a howl of fiery determination as his stick burned with his rainbow flames! He quickly drew a circle in the air-- and howled, letting out the torrent of rainbow flame! The Mystical Fire combined with Fire Tera-type would show a greater burst of power, stronger due to Dizzy's transformation. [break][break] The swirling flames Dizzy used would meet Pinky's Mystical Fire head on, one trying to overpower the other-- or perhaps even just exploding as the two forces meet, depending on Josh's action. [break][break] But the mutual clash was not the only thing. [break][break] Time was up! [break][break] Below Sylveon, the sound of a 'gong' went off as a 'hole' mysteriously opened below her. The opening revealed a 'starry-outer space' environment, offering a mystic realm beyond time and space. [break][break] Future Sight! [break][break] The gambet of distraction with the fiery clash would potentially leave the pokemon distracted by Future Sight coming from below, attempting to attack Sylveon in a cunning twist. Perhaps even enough to circumvent Light Screen, but for the moment now-- Sylveon had to be aware of both attacks from two angles! [break][break]
