Despite his initial distaste for the weather, there had been an underlying sense of urgency for his visit. Beneath the front of shivers and thoughts about the menu displayed before him, he watched his surroundings with a touch of calculation within his gaze. Between the notes of pastries and drinks, hues of slate had found themselves looming over the numerous people around him in passing. Customers. Workers.[break][break]

Especially the workers.[break][break]

But for the sake of inconspicuousness, he hadn’t lingered on the matter for terribly long at all— and especially as the line shortened more and more before him. By the time he found himself at the third or second person in queue, he merely took a sigh as he honed his focus onto warming his hands once more, scanning through the menu with a curious eye before it was finally his turn at the register.[break][break]

With none save for himself ever the wiser, a broadened smile immediately took his lips as he laughed a bit, parting his hands and bringing them down as he nodded at the woman in greeting.[break][break]

”Hey, don’t worry about it! Not your fault, anyway,” he reassured her, shaking his head as he cast another, briefer glimpse towards the menus above him. ”Getting slammed in this weather just means people like the place enough to drop by, right?”[break][break]

He inhaled, holding the breath within his chest for a moment before his cheeks inflated slightly, exhaling through lips that hadn’t completely parted.[break][break]

”Could I get a…Galarian macchiato? Extra shot.” His eyes narrowed in thought as he idled on the matter for a little while longer, though ultimately looked towards the woman once more with a curious eye. ”Thinking on a pastry, too, but I’m admittedly new to the area, altogether... You got any recommendations?”

As far as he was concerned, spring showers were as good as mythbusted that day. Trends and stereotypes be damned, there had always been something about being out when it rained—something to revel within, as far as he and his Alolan roots were concerned—but there were limits, even then. Thus, it was only natural for a sigh to escape his lips as the chime of an opened door signaled his entry into the shop, only followed by a few, repeated breaths into his hands as he cupped them over the lower half of his face.[break][break]

Once warmed enough, he took a moment to draw his hood back, casting a sidelong glance towards the window all the while as he fell in line. Sheets of droplets beat against the glass both visually and audibly, leaving him sighing as he turned his attention back towards the line, rubbing his hands together.[break][break]

He pressed lips thinly and absentmindedly, his brows furrowing as his attempts to warm his skin while waiting for the customers in front of him seemed to bear little to no fruit.[break][break]

Not like it was something he was incapable of doing.[break][break]

Plus, as far as he was concerned, all he was doing was dropping by the place to make sure the crops were watered, and maybe, maybe, to give a couple of them a trim wherever needed. Easy. Easy. Nothing he couldn’t handle, so with a key in hand, he strode along before eventually finding himself at a familiar residence, walking along the side and towards the gate leading to the back with a certain little monster in tow.[break][break]

He’d only barely lifted the key to the lock before a blur passed his periphery, immediately looking towards it in time to see a Liepard completely clear the fence by him.[break][break]

”Hello??” he yelled, floored with his jaw dropped slightly. He peered over the gate for a moment before quickly undoing the lock and reaching for a spare Pokeball on his belt. ”Lolo-ass— ugh. Clem! Gimmie a hand! Sic ‘em or something—!”[break][break]

He pushed the door open, though found himself cut short as his Tinkaton seemed to be a step ahead of him. Screaming (squealing? war-crying?), she barreled past him, lugging her hammer behind her and evidently catching both him and the would-be assailant off guard as she just…swung.[break][break]

Right on the money. Pow. Just like a glorified, furred-up croquet ball barreling through one of the arches.[break][break]

He stared at the aftermath for a few moments, his brows furrowing and lips curling inward and into a thin line.[break]
Ultimately, a pity surfaced on his face as he peered between the cat and the capsule in his hand, tossing it.[break][break]

”Th-... Thanks,” he said, breathless and unsure as he side eyed the Fairy-type.. ”...Maybe tone it down next time, though, yeah?”[break][break]
