"Is it just me or do we really walk in circles, gals ...?" Vespa looks around with a confused look on her face, for once questioning just where she is actually headed to. Nowhere, as it would seem to her, but then again ... Where even is somewhere here? Where should she be going towards to get to a destination even she isn't aware of? And, in a sense, if this is truly the afterlife where souls are caught or something like that, didn't she kind of - hastily, for sure - already reached that destination then? Uh ...[break]

Maybe she shouldn't think too deeply about it. There is no reason to panic over such a thing. She will definitely find the exit somewhere, somehow. "Now ... girls ... we move - there," she points into an arbitrary direction, steps following suit as the rest of her company are doing their preferred choice of movement (which is floating, mostly).

Now that they are seated, she does feel a lot more ... comfortable, one could say? She hasn't liked to be caught in that patch, after all, even as they managed to secure quite a couple more friends that could be useful in the long run. And if nothing else, it should help her understand Ghost types even further, or finally start to get a grip apart from the strange kinship she does feel with a couple of them. A strange, strange thing ...[break]

And for now, before she gets worms for brains over thinking about this issue for too long, she looks over to the collection, a new gambler joining the fry as it seems, Vespa giving the Milcery a humourous grin as she stares at the screen of the Poryphone. "That's really sick, though! What'cha gonna do with it?" she asks, not sure if she will get a reply, but she likes the engagement nonetheless. "Wait, let me actually ... see! That's what I got from my last pulls," the young student brings forth her own phone, showcasing a couple of random trinkets she got from the local arcade, as her Ghosts trail quietly behind her.

Vespa ... can only slowly nod in face of the grandeur that the other is painting, only furthering her own confusion when it comes to such a thing as religion where she already has little to no stand in, after all. She cannot say that she truly understands what he is going on about, but ... "I guess? Uh, I see ..." Wow, what kind of strange thing she just got herself into, but it isn't like there is much to do about it, considering ice and snow are their only other companions on this venture.[break]

"Okay, but ... why is that other thing the real blasphemy then? Why couldn't there have been, like, a big fight before everything?" she hears herself asking before truly noticing her words, wondering if now, she walked right into a thing she shouldn't have said. But oops ... such is the thing with her mouth operating just way faster than her mind, and even then it's not like her brain is actually good for something.[break]

Only when she sees a Glalie does she react instantly, wanting to catch it as she directs her Pokémon towards it. "Yo! Shadow Sneak on that one, Quinn, let's go!" Thankfully, they are able to catch the Glalie off-guard, making the catch somewhat more feasible as she turns around to listen to the rest of what Isaac has to say. "If I've been steeped in knowledge? I mean, not really-" is the first thing that comes to mind before she realises what he actually meant, a surge of embarrassment - cringe - taking over as she gestures half-heartedly, eyes going towards the snowed-in path ahead, "uh - I mean. No? Sinnoh ... no, never got the chance to, I guess? Why're here, long way from home, though?"

It seems that she met a quite peculiar, kind of intriguing personality out in such a strange place as this, with the spirits of the dead and Ghosts lingering around every corner. She watches with interest how the Nickit and a Runerigus are engaged in a heavy battle until the Runerigus disappears from sight. Just goes to show how every Pokémon is quite different from another, too, as Vespa thinks back to the rather timid Runerigus that is waiting for her at home ... Hm. How fascinating.[break]

"Maisie, then ... uh, does private eye mean the same as private investigators? You ... uh, this visit of yours has nothing to do with one of your cases, right? Or does it?" she's soon to ask, one after another, a contemplative thought on her face when she replies, thinking probably a second too hard on her own age than one could normally spent on that, "and yeah ... I'm eighteen. Don't really drink, though." Well, or she doesn't find much interest in it, unlike some of her other classmates, she figures. There is just more appeal in ...[break]

"Hey! Stop right here! Quinn, Shadow Sneak on that Gothorita!" she is quick to say as she notices that the wild Pokémon not only has something shimmering on him, but ... is that her own wallet, actually? Ugh, when did that fall out - "caught you!" And she throws a Pokéball.

"That's - good to hear then," the young student nods, not quite sure what else to add. Her own experience in the Border is quite different, after all, more explorative and curious than having much else to do here. A place that she feels oddly comfortable, even, apart from the air that gives her a headache. But the more she lands there, the more she wants to know ... and the more she wants to go back, feeling drawn towards that strange place.[break]

However, this isn't the thing to be thinking about when there is a whole other challenge to get behind - literally, and figuratively, as she positions herself on the dual type. "Uh-huh," she can only say before it already starts - and only in peripheral does she catch how the Roaring Moon soars to the sky once more, though slower in comparison, thankful that it has - as it seems - picked up Fuyue in the meanwhile, taking their time to catch up with the extremely fast ride she has. And it's - thrilling, exhilarating, all in the sense that it's scary as heck. She can barely keep her eyes open, not quite willing to take chances except for one - small - peak ...[break]
[break]
And there is intrigue in the world around, all at once, as her mouth falls agape. But the moment comes and goes, and soon, they land on where they're supposed to land. "-woah! That was ... woah." Vespa cannot quite find the words as she stumbles on the ground, just in time getting a little support and help by the Roaring Moon with the Gastly-looking Fuyue that land a few moments after.

Arguably, it's not often that they get to battle side by side - honestly, Vespa has never found that much intrigue in battles herself until she met Navy and he kind of open her eyes about the reality of things, giving her something to think about past the bubble of the safety of her current life. Certainly after they encountered such strange forces as the shimmering beasts that she never could properly explain in much any way. Why is she even here now? What does it matter in the grand scheme? She has no damn clue, but if there has been one lesson she got ... well, maybe, just having a home to return to would be nice.[break]
[break]
Maybe, she really just has to live out of spite, sometimes. Maybe there'll be something worth fighting for. And she certainly does not want to get beaten by a brat before she hasn't grown strong enough to even challenge Navy.[break]
[break]
She is able to hold her ground against the opposing Hurricane, alongside the Falinks that coddle together to gain more against the tempestuous force. "Oh Arceus, are you trying to force a bad hair day? Ugh, that's it!" Vespa narrows her eyes as she commands the Falinks to get ready, a force engulfing them - a protective one, to be exact, aiming to nullify the damage - but as she notices the Shadow Blast coming her way, she takes a risky bet.[break]
[break]
There is almost something sweetly scented coming from the Pokéball she has in her hand now, though it doesn't have the same wear and tear as others of her. Still, there is proof that it is well-used in the many stickers she put on, silly faces and ghostly spirits decorating the surface as she forces the Falinks back, throwing instead the Misdreavus out on the field - taking significant damage, but the Ghost type is still standing, a mischievous grin appearing on her face as she seems to surround herself with dark forces of a different kind. "Pain split!" Vespa calls out, looking over to see how Cassandra is doing as a harrowing, overdramatic sound fills the space, wails and woes coming from the Misdreavus as she shares her pain.

There is a smile on Vespa's eyes despite the situation, some attempt at normalcy despite this excruciatingly un-normal situation they find themselves in. Like the world is burning and keeps burning, until nothing would eventually be left ... But she can't fully - doesn't want to fully cave to such thoughts, more curious what her best friend might have managed to scavenge from the forests and whatever it is that she manages to do, now that she tries to be under the radar. "Hey, you know, you don't have to give me anything in return-" she is only able to hum before things are going awry.[break]

She can barely get a grip on the bag of snacks when she notices movement - it falls into the enemies' hands before she can fully realise it, eyes darting towards where the voice is coming from. "I thought there'd be some interesting smell ... guess we crash your little party," one of the grunts is saying.[break]

Vespa all but glares at the intruders, hand by her Pokéballs as she quickly and swiftly picks the one of the Falinks Squad, throwing it in a short, precise manner, so they land right in front of her, mirroring the determination that is visible in the young student's face. That's it. They trespassed not only their hidden place in this warzone, but also ...! "Let's punch some idiots, Squad!" she immediately yells, a Close Combat following towards whichever Pokémon the others may bring out. "There's a thing like etiquette, you dimwits!"

Amalthea does not understand the concept of 'fright'. When Vespa dropped them at this place and also mentioned something lackluster about doing a good job and expanding their horizons and also something that has to do with a thumb point upwards, she has very poorly explained the concept of 'fright' to them - because at the same time, they are 'not to enact actual violence' and 'not hurt anyone in the process', but truly, whichever should be scarier than an opponent one cannot beat? What greater pleasure is there than to invoke fear in a battle - to see your foe cower in front of you because they know they can't beat you, and you will not even let them try past this moment?[break]

It drives them in a spiral as they merely stand in a corner of the haunted house, possibly next to another, as they keep muttering in this indistinguishable, foreign sounds, "what does she mean with fright ...?" - paralysed of what they should do, because they cannot even hit someone. Unironically hit someone, that is.

The unease furthers only as much as the sense of dread does, the normally active individual turning into something more passive as she can only witness the ghosts disappear after cleaning up the mess - watching how ghosts anew appear, with something that seems extensively peculiar. We all drift in here? What does that even mean ... Is that supposed to be a song she should know? But who is she, even? There is a confusion when she turns her head towards Cassandra Kubrick, DESIREE BLOOMS and Thea Naito with a confused look, a question forming, "who-," - when darkness falls, and with it a silence that feels oppressive.[break]

The young student reaches out for whoever stands closest to her at that moment, a painful grip on whoever she may or may not be able to get a grip on. That's ... one heck of something. Forever ... A hand that reaches out and finds nothing, only furthering the dread that seems to fill her lungs with every other intake of air. "Will it ... explode?" That's ... she feels like there is something on the tip of her tongue, though she cannot tell if it's the light at the end of a tunnel, or something more aligned with an abyssal scream for help.

TL;DR

- Vespa wears a Wooper mask and a mintgreen dress, and she is no longer accompanied by her partner Quinn Crisp the Misdreavus who wears a Grookey mask. Apparently called 'Woo'. Gradually forgetting her identity.[break]

Fighting herself through the mist, there actually isn't that much left for the young one to do as she goes. The fields and sights are eerily empty, all things considered, and she can only guess where life - or the absence of it - may be at this time. Possibly somewhere else. Possibly, there is another march happening somewhere, too, though she is not quite certain if she wants to run into it again, all on her own, with a chance to be actually stuck being possessed.[break]

That truly was one heck of an experience ...[break]

Sitting down on one of the stones that rage out from the white mist, she sighs - only to see another sigh joining hers, looking at a muddy-brown Sableye that seems to have seen better days. "What'cha doing, bud? You good?" she wonders out loud, though the Sableye only stares at her, and then at something in the distance. It seems like she can faintly hear ... a stream or something? Are they close to water? Would that mean ... "You broke, too? Man ... how about we band together, maybe we can find some coin on the way, hm?" And though she has no coin to offer for any Gimmighoul to take, there is a Pokéball that she has for show at least, grinning as she holds it in front of the other - waiting to see if there is a new friend to be made, or ... well, not. All in all, though, she does wonder where everyone could be.

It seems like she has found herself some kind of strange companion, to say the least. Now, Vespa isn't the most ordinary herself in terms of having a partially difficult personality to boot, but she hasn't been thrown into the realms of religion all that much. Her father isn't spiritual in much any way other than with nature at large, she figures, and her mother has more interest in the cosmos void of life, in a way. But this ... Huh. Interesting. Learning something new every day, as they say, ay? "Hearthome ... is where again?" she wonders out loud as they walk further, passing by a couple of Pokémon, but they don't have her attention as much as the question of geography and how really bad she can be at it.[break]

Honestly, the thing about Arceus sounds pretty confusing to her, furrowing her eyebrows as she listens to what Isaac has to say. The Misdreavus is also hanging upside-down, looking at the two humans and the Togekiss with curiosity. "Uh ... that ... I'm sorry, err, if that sounds - blasphemous, but ... how is that making sense? Like, err, I don't get it. Sorry," she tries to formulate a tactful question out of the confusion, but she can only squint into the distance, a blank snowy field in front of her. What even existed before? "Also ... an egg? Not, like, a boom, or something?" How'd an egg even survive?

Fortunately, it seems that the other isn't all too unhappy about seeing the teenager again - perhaps, dee is, somewhere, but that is of no importance to Vespa as dee is already bringing out the necessary coins. Probably the amount actually needed, compared to the lousy change they gave last times ... She wonders if this is the same Gimmighoul, or if there is one now that is very mad at them for not paying proper before. "Thanks a bunch! The girls and me were just wandering around, but we've hit a hard end here," she remarks with a relieved sigh, looking over to all six of them on display, as if to urge them to say thanks, gals.[break]

However, what she sees instead ... "Quinn, you good? What's going on?" she wonders out loud - it's rare for the Misdreavus to be flustered, after all, but there is a faint shadow - then a full, differently coloured Misdreavus flying around and past, definitely most interested in her Pokémon partner. Damn ... do even her team have more game than her? But, still, she grins as she waves at the other Misdreavus. "Yo! Wanna tag along?" And she offers her a Pokéball before turning around in time to see that Poryphone brought out its collection.[break]

"Damn ... nice, you got more income now, too? That is funky as heck," Vespa compliments the other, probably something she shouldn't necessarily be doing, fuelling a gacha addiction like this ... but boarding the questionably stable boat, she wonders if she should call her team back to their Pokéballs - but then again, most are floating, anyway ... "Funny we meet here again, really."

Now after dealing with the issue at hand with the shiny Rotom, Vespa sets out to explore the mists of this desolate land - the strange eeriness and the low-brooding comfort such a place as a catch-all for souls has, in her eyes, somehow, maybe, possibly. Last time, she had wanted to get back as soon as possible, not quite feeling comfortable with the strangeness of this place, but the more she thinks about it ... the more she simply wonders. And with wonder, everything kind of starts, really.[break]

"Well, let's just hope we ain't running into rivers so soon this time ..." Vespa mutters half to herself, half to the gang of Ghosts surrounding her, giving herself almost a ghost-like presence, evoked further and strengthened only in this curious place.
