She doesn't really know anymore what she is doing, though there is a constant drive to only leave the grounds when she can be sure that her friend is safe, too. After all, only because they wanted to meet here today, was why any of them were here in first place. Thus, as she is bidding farewell to yet another figure of esteem and renown, her eyes are looking over the vast expanse of collapsed buildings and broken structures, until-[break]

"CASS!!!" Relief is flooding her mind as she makes her way towards her friend, wanting to make her way over, but she frowns at a pile of large chunks of asphalt and steel constructions that disturb the direct path. Looking at the Falinks Squad, she nods, directing them towards the pile, "Megahorn, let's go!" Luckily, both are standing far enough away from it, but the distance is still quickly crossed once the dust settles and she can finally pinch her friend's cheeks. "Oh Arceus, finally, I've been looking for you everywhere! Are you okay?I'm good, as far as it goes-" Well, her appearance is equally as dishevelled as Cassandra's, but probably that is the thing when roped into something one hasn't come prepared for.

It seems that her friend is, in fact, not where she has been directed towards, but that is probably to be expected. After all, she has been told to wait for some experienced member of the League when she wandered aimlessly throughout the broken wreckages, until someone guided her to where she could be of help while she is on her mission to find Cassandra. Luckily, she didn't have to wait for too long before said person showed up, coming in on an impressively large Vaporeon and introducing himself as Champion and Gym Leader. So ... one of the people she might be fighting in battle one day? Perhaps she should keep an eye out ...[break]

Such thoughts seem far away, though, as it seems more paramount to get a hold on the current situation. "Vespa Baskerville, uh, student? Yes - I, err, was told to come here. My partner, a ditto - err, turned Yanmega - is currently scouting the situation a little ..." she introduces herself, remarking anything she thought would be useful. And, after a pause, "... so, what should I do?"

Watching the rescue mission with awe, it ... does inspire a little, making her reminisce in her mind over the brief talk she had with Michael Navidson during the career day of her school. Maybe being a ranger could be something to aspire to reach? But such thoughts are something left for another day, she surmises, as she has to pay attention to her surroundings to reach the others safely. The fleet of giant bugs are definitely a sight to behold and she only is able to approach the others as the rescue mission is as good as finished. Not that she thinks that she could have added too much to it, anyway.[break]

Vespa looks at the ranger captain with a thoughtful expression, waiting for an opportune moment to eventually pose questions of her own, such as, "Uh ... so, what actually did happen there? Like, you glowing - and - and all that stuff. What was that for an attack? Can I learn that, too? Is that part of being a ranger?" Perhaps, she saw others doing the same, but ... well, none have happened as close as they happen now. "Uh, or if you're busy now ... can I ask you stuff later?" She glances over to the fresh group of rescuees, some not as happy to be riding what they are.

Idling besides the waves, it seems as if she still isn't permitted to come too close, so Vespa decides that while the Grookey is still working on finding something pink in his vicinity (and even lightly trying to see if he can get elsewhere, paddling his feet - it's so adorable), she might as well see if there are other places further away that are worth a look. Still, she ensures that she can at least keep an eye on the Grookey before diving right back into the cool blue.

Looking with satisfaction at the just-caught Lampent-in-the-Ball, she turns back to the trainer with a Porygon, and the Text-To-Speech thing. Right. ... Dee offered help in searching for Nathan the skating Wooper, right? "Oh - uh - sure," Vespa replies with a nod, still a bit bewildered by the offer yet, if only because 'searching for Nathan' is like searching for Arceus. Probably Arceus is easier to find than a Wooper that strands randomly everywhere. But how to say that? "Oh, right - I'm Vespa, by the way," she remembers to introduce herself, "but the thing about - err - the Pokémon I'm looking for-"[break]

She only gets as far, though, as she sees something ... blue-ish in the peripheral of her eyes. Wait- "Jo- Nathan?!" she yells out before a Pokéball is already thrown and - wait ... oh. Oh. That is definitely not Nathan as she hears her PokéDex registering someone new. Would have been weird, if Nathan were to float, to be honest, too, but she wouldn't put it past her, exactly.

To be honest, Vespa half-expected Yasuko to have disappeared - she wouldn't have faulted her one bit if she did, considering the excruciatingly long time that she has been waiting in line to get some snacks for the game, that was probably no already thirty minutes in or so. It sure is tough in this game of life and love ... but, well, since Yasuko is still here, that sure must mean something, right? (Or maybe she was patient enough to look after the Grookey, too, not wanting to leave that big baby alone, for which she also is quite grateful; that silly guy cannot be left without supervision at any time.)[break]

Speaking of, Sun seemed to have had a good time, seeming as chipper as ever and happy over the nachos, too, looking at how Yasuko is dipping one in cheese and eating it, and doing the same - but instead of eating it, he offers it to the other's Stufful. Vespa, in the meanwhile, looks at Yasuko with a bit of a thoughtful look before smiling, sighing. "Yeah, I guess that's fair enough," she lets out with an amused huff, "thanks for coming anyway, though." Although maybe talking could be a bit difficult ... well, maybe they could just leave early if they wanted to.[break]

Thankfully, their section doesn't seem as crowded and overly immersed as others are, so conversation seems possible for now. "Hm? Me? Uh ... don't think there's much to say. I go to a school in Slateport and uh, have no idea about my future? Riveting, I know," Vespa can only answer truthfully to Yasuko's question about herself, a self-ironic smile adorning her features. "I mean, I grew up in Mossdeep City and never travelled much, but ... uh ... what about you?"

How did she end up here? That's ... a good question, though one she relies on Cassandra to answer. Still not quite sure what this simulation is about, it's almost wondrous how it existed for so long and didn't get a taste of her exceedingly endless curiosity. But here she is now, amidst everything that is and isn't happening, a grin on her face. "Maybe it's a sign for you to move ..." Vespa says with an ominous kind of voice, though she isn't quite so sure how serious she'd actually be.[break]

For now, she looks over to the purple chunk, something ... irritates her about it quite so. The other people - NPCs? - in this seem to be quite devoted to it, in a way that seems like they want them to be devoted to it, too. Strange ... "Uh-huh. So, like, can I just-" Vespa approaches the chunk, and touches it, a hesitant finger first before she extends her whole hand towards it.

It seems a little absurd how she still hasn't been able to get hold of her friend, but then again ... the current situation isn't exactly making it easy to navigate around and about. Vespa just has to make-do with what exists, it seems, and she is quite determined to ensure her friend's safety, whenever that may be. She'll get to it eventually ...[break]

For now, though, there is little she can do, being stranded in another part of Sea Mauville after she parted ways with the ranger captain, Shalin Nariya. The Ditto by her side remains transformed as Yanmega, which at least allows it some flexibility when it comes to the grounds that are covered in debris and hubris. "Aye ... let's see what's up ahead first, maybe?" Perhaps she could help some more, or maybe, she'll finally find Cassandra. Or maybe it'll find someone else that'll be able to tell her a little more, or about how she can help.

It seems to be a well-coordinated spiel by now - she dives in, grabs something, dives up again, inspects the item, and sees how the Grookey is doing amidst all of the water. For now, he is still quite immersed in his task, so she leaves him alone, amused yet ... but hey, that'll give her some time to find something really good, won't it?

Sighing, it's almost weird how easy she found nailing the Magikarp Splash, but this twist thing? Maybe that's because she typically doesn't like severe plot twists. That must be it. Ah ... curse literature, for sure. "Shouldn't have roasted that book's plot so hard, huh ...?" Vespa shakes her head, patting the Mantine that is only looking at her bewildered (as far as possible). But the day is still long and she won't feel very satisfied eating out later if she gives up now, so ... "Onto another wave!"
