Cass' emotions are a hard-to-describe pit of feelings she'd rather think about later (read: never), but can't push aside as their group name would quickly be announced. While normally having confidence to the moon and back, something about this situation does make her rather nervous. An underlying anxiety to all and any of her actions.

She takes a deep breath, taking Jon into her arms with a cool cap. Martin wouldn't come onto stage, but she insisted that he'd wear a little pair of cool and useless glasses as well, while he's working his Aromatherapy magic to largely conceal the garbage smell. She turns to Vespa Baskerville with a thumbs-up, and nods at CIAN MAHER and Thomas Benoit as well.

"How's everyone feeling? Everything good?" Part of the nervousity might be performing with people that she hasn't really known before - she can imagine that with her friends Vespa, Thea or Knight, she'd probably be Balls To The Walls in any given scenario without thinking too much. They, frankly, do not leave much room to think about what exactly she's doing.

Confidence is definitely not a department where one would find Vespa lacking typically, with a sort of brute-ish outlook on life - simple, yet effective. Performing on a big stage with no prior rehearsals of any sort is ... strange to say the least, much less since she has no clue how she winded up here, but ... hey! At least this little event seems all blocked off of social media, and only a couple (hundreds? thousands?) strangers would live to tell the tale. Rosy prospects, if one were to ask Vespa.[break]

The Grookey would accompany her on-stage, a cool pair of pink sunglasses sitting atop his nose as he roams the room where they prepare. While Vespa is putting on a pair of green sunglasses herself, the Grookey has made it a mission to walk over to Cian, inviting him to join him as he cheerfully sings (the closest proximity to it), hitting his trusted wooden stick rhythmically on the nearest surface that can make a clink type of sound. Does that count as 'vocal' warm-ups ... she wonders.[break]

In either way, Vespa is now putting on a pair of purple sunglasses on the Wooper, her skateboard lying around somewhere as she looks over to Cassandra. "Peachy as pie!" And then, she looks over to their last member, curious what he might be thinking about, observing him with a green tint to her vision.

Cass knows how to tune a violin, which is usually a process of disharmony until you finally twist it the right way to sound perfectly, so she is a bit lost with the vocal warm-ups, too. However, it's a bit of a relief to see Cian also slightly out of his depths, as the Grookey walks up and invites the gym leader to sing along with his ... singing. Definitely singing.

This is gonna go great.

"AND NOW ... WE ARE EXCITED TO PRESENT YOU ..."

A staff member ushers them onwards, and oh boi. Time to go balls to the walls.

"CCV! GIVE IT UP FOR CASS, CIAN - yes that one - AND VESPA!"

The starting notes of top hit Fancy start playing, and one launches into song with no room for the fear to cripple - there's an objective to fulfill and she'd focus on that. Jon next to her reassures her, too, as he's doing his best to hop and dance to the beat, rustling in time with the tune.

Technically, the performance is simply covering some K-Pop songs to a playback, with all three of them singing. She's not sure how it also turned into an impromptu dance performance that's left her breathless - idols are doing crazy work indeed, goddamn. At the end of the songs they're performing, she takes a deep, shaking breath, not daring to look at the crowd.

She knows that some of her pokémon would cheer in support, and Pic definitely made some manic scribbles.

And then there's Jon who at this point could also be dead. Still, he's rustling still, and she feels tender affection once more for this little creature who, in her eyes, is simply unkillable. Which is objectively untrue.

before he has a chance to conclude his vocal warm-ups (he did none), the group is ushered out onto the stage to begin their performance. his gulp would have been audible if not for the cheering crowd.[break][break]

it's difficult not to dance along to the song they pick. he resists at first, though quickly gives in the moment he glances over at his politoed, the water-type dancing its heart out. he's filled with a tender feeling.[break][break]

It's pretty surreal, if one would ask Vespa - in a Post Edit, she would be blended in with her name being displayed ("Vespa B.), and some crunchy subtitle to state her age and profession ("old enough to Slay"), and she would be saying ... "Hot dangit." Not that any of her group would hear it since the crowd is irritatingly ecstatic, but she blames it on the awesome trio that they are forming. And Cian, probably. Snorting at his reaction to the announcement, she is officially entering last, all according to them being called out, pushing the sunglasses on her nose just right.[break]

It's freakin' showtime![break]

While she is singing along to the tunes a little here and now, dancing ... quite ... interpretatively, as one could argue, alongside her Pokémon, Vespa only really starts to take the stage when the rap section hits, expressing an emotion rather unusual with the brute-ish force of her usual day-to-day. But a little tenderness just brings out the syllables just right, turning around towards her temporary groupmates with a victory sign.

Cass grins at Cian's indignant remark as well, slightly feeling the urge to open up the yellow book and see if there truly is no other Cian out there ... but the performance quickly distracts her from that thought, especially given how Cian's Politoed pops off, followed by Cian proper and. Vespa. Cass is fairly certain she probably just stood there for a solid moment staring impressedly before remembering that she is on stage, too.

But she already knows what moments Pic might have captured - in fact, she believes to spot him absolutely ecstatic, painting as if his life depended on it. It probably did, in a way.

"WOAH! What a performance, what a performance," the moderators compliment then with a smile, "Do you have anything to say to our lovely audience?"

Uh oh. Panic. The awareness of the performance. Arrogance that this against all odds has gone really well and all. Sweat covering her mic.

CLANG BRZZZZZZT.

Cass' mic slips through her hand onto the ground, resulting in an almost deafening sound as it hits the floor. Quickly, she turns around in a haughty fashion so people could not see how her face turns absolutely red with embarrassment.

"Oh, a classical mic drop from over here, it seems!"

to his surprise, he doesn't fumble the lyrics as badly as he thought he would. singing is difficult as is but to do it in another language is an entirely different challenge.[break][break]

by the end of it, he's relieved, and he could not have done it without his band members. he flashes a quick smile to Vespa Baskerville and Cassandra Kubrick.[break][break]

and now, it's time for their closing remarks. where Cassandra Kubrick delivers a powerful mic drop, cian opts for something less showy and more subtle.[break][break]

he waves at the crowd, winks, then brings his hand up to his face for a peace sign; a classic pose that would surely win the hearts of many. but he's also greedy so he quickly says: "you can get our merch at booth number three!"

Vespa feels pretty out of breath, so she is grateful that the others are going first for the closing remarks, giving her some time to fumble over her breath and also be amused by what the others have in store. A mic drop? She wonders if Cassandra didn't actually practice that in front of the mirror ... but guessing from the persistent red on the other's face, probably not.[break]

Cian is surprising her in the sense that wait, we have a merch line?, before thinking to herself, of course we have a merch line. And even if not, they would be quick to come up with something, surely - for a little extra bucks ... She heard academics can be pretty costly to pursue, if she went that route. Do the rangers pay well, she wonders ...[break]

Cass wonders if by now, they might actually have made some new merch ... she's heard that there's some real quick designers out there ready to shitpost brilliant designs on the fly. Oh well, she could really do good with sinking into a hole just about now ... gods her face is probably still flushed red, and she is really thankful that she doesn't turn around when Vess' mentions her dad's hobby website, and instead keeps on walking casually (read: awkwardly) off the stage.

Once out of sight of the cameras, Cass immediately shrinks a good few feet, hugging her knees for one moment of "aaaaaaaa" (so no one not immediately nearby would hear), before springing up to her feet again, turning around to her bandmates. "That! Wasn't too bad!" she says with the conviction of a teen who's really putting work into the delusion gears. "Well, the perfomance wasn't. The ... after."

However, she smiles then a bit, still lopsided but hey, at least something as she cycles through all the stages of any emotion. "Thanks for tagging along, too, Cian." Even if because of that, many more probably saw that. Oh gosh. Time for the delulu to really kick in until she can copy and paste Vess' attitude.

he stumbles into one of the staff and manages to stop himself from crashing into to the ground. he heaves a sigh, then a chuckle, then a smile as he thanks them.[break][break]
