Dallas was quick to scoop up the brave little Snivy in his arms before returning him to his Pokeball. It was the best he could do to keep the unconscious Pokemon safe as the tower gave way beneath them. But before he could reach for his Yungoos’ Pokeball, they were already in free fall. Boris and Jirachi carried away now on Hydreigon leaving Dallas’ Fletchinder empty-handed. She had done well to keep the rogue Rocket alive for this long but now needed to focus on her trainer not becoming a splat on the ground.[break][break]

Meanwhile, Yungoos clung for dear life onto Dallas until Hawks finally caught them. “Geez, reminding me of the desert ruins now,” as they former a pokemon/trainer Megazord[break][break]

There was the temptation to play it safe now, avoid the Ho-Oh and land safely. Dallas hadn’t come all this way for Rocket to steal it all away from the League at the very end though. “Dodge it Hawks. Cut what you can’t avoid with Steel Wing.” The Fletchinder’s wings soon reflected the command, each feather growing a metallic sheen. Destroying whatever debris came into its path. Meanwhile, Acrobatics helped to deftly dodge most debris (and hopefully the massive angry firebird) as they closed in on their target. dominic sinclair .[break][break]

Dallas, admittedly, had no clue who this guy was. But he was making off with Boris and reaching for the last wish tag. In fact, multiple people seemed to be eyeing it up. The blond didn’t have any grand ambitions or plans with the tag, but the last thing he wanted was some Rocket fucking them over even harder.[break][break]

“Yungoos…” The weasel poked its head up, barely able to hear Dallas as the wind whipped around them before following his gaze to the Hydreigon. Yungoos cried out in disagreement, but still prepared the attack it knew Dallas wanted.[break][break]

“I swear, I’ll catch you.” And then it launched. Straight onto the back of the dragon with an Ice Fang digging into it. Meanwhile, Dallas and Fletchinder performed a fly-by. The blond taking a swipe at the stranger on his way to also reach for the blue tag that continued to plummet. Fletchinder clutching onto the man, trying to guide his descent.

At first, the water offered to him made Dallas’ stomach turn. A reminder of his poor life choices until he’s reassured of its cleanliness. A few tentative sips are all that are taken. Refreshing, but unfortunately no miracle cure. He still felt like shit.[break][break]

“Claimed lives? Well, that’s nice to hear.” He forced a few more sips of the clean water down him for his own sake before the next big step arrived. Trying to stand back up. It was so much easier down on the soft grass. Dallas had to get up though. Especially if this plague was a dire as it sounded in the form of children’s stories.[break][break]

“Thanks.” It’s the most he can muster as he takes Nikolai’s hand to hoist himself up. A small stumble in his step, but he managed to keep his balance before glancing around.[break][break]

“As long as it’s not another Gloom, and it’s gonna help me, let’s go.” The blond declared. Taking a few steps on his own before having to resign himself to walking with his partner’s assistance again. As degrading as it felt, he could barely tell what direction he was going right now.[break][break]

“Well, I hope you guys don’t forget how to fight from being in there too long.” Dallas poked his head into the mouth of the cave as he spoke. Only able to see so far into the darkness with what amount of sunlight managed to break the canopy of the trees and into the cave.[break][break]

“Wonder if it’s home.” He took a few tentative steps into the cave, looking for any more signs of activity. His Gible eagerly joining the investigation but with little input. “Yeah...if we’re gonna have to fight this thing, I’d rather it not be in here. Right Nibbler?” While Dallas had expected a young Gible’s chipper cry as a response, he was instead met with silence.[break][break]

“Nibbler?” He reached for his lighter, the small flame helped provide at least some light as he began to frantically search for the missing dragon type. “Did you see where he went?” The question was for Perse, but a roar from deeper within the cave gave Dallas his answer. Soon followed by a terrified-looking Gible scurrying back to its trainer.[break][break]

Another day, another Pokemon hunt in a dark cave. Dallas wasn’t even sure why he continued to choose these tunnels and caves as his capturing spots for potential new teammates. He could barely see half the time. And with Hoenn becoming less safe by the day, it was a wonder how he hadn’t been jumped by some Rocket grunt.[break][break]

That was the fear that brought him here though. Rocket’s grasp was getting tighter on the region as the League’s strength continued to be challenged. The reluctant promotion he had taken meant he also had to keep up, and that meant stronger Pokemon. Whether that was catching them or training the ones he already had didn’t matter in the end. At least to Dallas, Right now it was just something to keep him busy.[break][break]
