wow, you're a brat. were you always like this growing up? it's annoying, stop it. mateo is pretty hotheaded too, passionate, and easily angered ( depending on the person and situation in question ), but he means well. he's like the big brother one could dream of having. he's a great teacher when it comes to dragons, battling with aggression but knowing when to get aggressive, and a fun guy to just be around. he's like a child in an adult's body who gets easily ecstatic over the simplest of things; though has his moments where he needs to act mature and serious. basically, he's spiral but without the asshole part. :fuckcila: :fuckcila: :fuckcila:

mission partners is definitely something they can be. i don't know what else you're looking for! maybe a teacher to help stormy with her battling? teach her a few tricks, dunno! anything and everything is open with this guy! he's gonna challenge her soon anyway.

hi, mateo would like to be the yin to his yang. the apple to his pear. the positive to his negative. the optimist to his narcissist. the smegma to his dick. this does not include the ram to his ranch, he will not be that. let's go bounty hunting. having these two meet would be interesting, plus he's a league official officer and yet mateo isn't. so getting in the way of his time arresting rockets or finishing a job before he arrives on the scene from time to time would be fun, plus having them run into each other a lot just sounds like a time of, "why the fuck is he not arrested yet for playing vigilante?"

yes pls! playing a "pretend goody-goody" sounds fun to read with hades! hopefully mateo can persuade him to become a good person and see his point of view on the world. would love to have them exchange ideals and such! either way, just him hating mateo just to hate him because of his personality is also fine. he's the type to respond back with positivity...depending on the situation at hand...he's very aggressive...and likes to yell a lot...so his positive response might be more of a violent one depending on the interaction.

@thomas + mateo martinez,

wowza! he'd definitely fawn over thomas's hydreigon and would love to learn about how he came to raise the beast without proper etiquette. then again, it's not too unheard of that there are those capable of bonding with pre-evolved dragons; though, to evolve one into a hydreigon and be able to tame it?! amazing! you must be strong and he'd definitely want to battle the dragon-type. as for thomas, he's a good guy and these two might seem to have a lot in common when it comes to stopping a baddie or two!

mpoleon?! the water-type did not seem to be happy at all. apparently, unknown to the trainer, this land belonged to the empoleon and they were trespassers. mateo was able to read the empoleon's expression and indicate well enough that they were trespassing.taking hold of his goggles, he'd place them over his eyes. body lowered, arms spread, and legs apart, he readied for the penguin to make a move. a body of water enshrouded the steely penguin, it prepared to use aqua jet.

"come!" he called.

jetting forward, sceptile would intercept with the move leaf blade holding it back while dragonite swooped into grab its trainer. he would come to climb atop of dragonite's back, riding it while watching the empoleon clash head on with sceptile. "bring your arm down upon it!" encasing its free arm with a glowing sickle, he'd utilize leaf blade once more only to bring its arm downward. "hell yeah!" the empoleon would be smacked into the ground. sceptile jumping back to give themselves some distance. in the air, mateo screamed, "be careful, it's a tough one!" and he wanted it on his team. it wasn't a dragon, but it would definitely do!

a swagger was given, attempting to intimidate sceptile. in the instant it happened, sceptile felt confused; as though he were seeing multiple empoleon. "oh no, that's swagger...sceptile's in trouble, but maybe we can turn this around..." this was probably going to sound stupid, but, "sceptile, if you can hear me, spin around and use leaf blade--even if you might hurt yourself, just do it!" the empoleon began to rush forward, launching like a rocket and rotating rapidly as it would attempt to utilize drill peck. like a bullet it spun fast and great, preparing to pierce the grass-type with all it had. "sceptile, do it now!" green, energized sick-like blades were created upon its wrist. large and durable, sceptile spun. confused even more then it had already been, it possessed great strength to back it up. the sceptile would smack empoleon to the side as though it were nothing. ceasing its spinning, it would fall upon its bottom.

the empoleon stood with annoyance, and sceptile, shaking its head, would remove its confusion. it was angry to have been embarrassed by the like of a water-type and empoleon was angered by the sceptile's ability to counter his steel body. "empoleon's type may be water, but it's also steel and has a pretty tough body. we can't rule out the possibility that sceptile's blades are doing little damage, just making it more annoyed. we'll just have to deplete its energy..." a command given, "mega drain, sceptile!" and thus the empoleon was met with an unpleasant drainage of energy. causing it to fall upon its knees. rather then attempt to defeat it, they would take the route to capture it.

a pokeball was thrown from above. attempting to capture the steel, water penguin. the ball would engulf it in a bright, red crimson beam of energy. locking and attempting to seal it away for good.

e hadn't a clue as to who the guy was, but he'd agree that they need to cease their senseless cry for help. "right!" getting him up. he and the barely standing machoke, who used every ounce of his strength, gathered the man and his pokemon to a nearby home. as the newcomer made a call, they'd escort the injured male to the town's infirmary.

once there, mateo would talk to the town's doctor. "well, were you able to get anything out of him?" the doctor possessed an alakazam and chansey at his side. the doctor spoke of having performed the power "calm mind" upon the patient and explaining to him of what he was told after treating his wounds and feeding him antibiotics. once he gained enough energy to talk, the doctor was told of an attack being brought to oldale by a large group of rocket members. "rocket?! again! i met some of those guys when i was visiting my mother's birthplace. are they that troublesome?!" he'd ask the doctor. fangs clenched together.

nd just like that she was already on his good side! he liked an adventurous person. "so team rocket, huh? i suppose they're no different from a regular poacher, just more organized and big." he'd place the keycard back into his jacket. turning on his right foot, he'd point to an abandoned church ahead of them. "they tried to run to that church for some reason. so i'm guessing their stuff must be in there." from just an assumption anyway. he never got the chance to question them, just a keycard.

"so let's head over there--ah?" mateo's proposed adventure was halted by the sudden surprise of a shelgon emerging from the piled men. "it's a shelgon!" he said with enthusiasm. eyes bright like stars. the shelgon ran to his side as he'd open arms wide to hug the egg-shaped fellow. "come'ere little guy, hugs!" he'd hug his draconian brethren. "i thought you and the others waltzed off." it would seem the krookodile brought shelgon back. did it wish to stick with him? "this little guy was one of the many pokemon captured. i didn't expect him to return; guess he's attached to me!" a large grin was hard to shift when something as adorable as shelgon was hanging around. "alright, well, for now, we'll let you come along! how can i say no to something so adorable?!" and so it was decided, and they were off.

as they began their walk to the church. mateo would make idle chat, "i'm from blackthorn city; name's mateo martinez," a spicy accent was added behind his name, "former gym leader of the blackthorn gym, former dragon den guardian, current dragon master, and soon-to-be resident of hoenn!" a puffed out chest was enough to show that he held high confidence and pride in his former titles. "my mom is actually from hoenn; whereas my dad is a johto native. i'm actually hear to visit fallabor town and the draconid tribe she's from." scratching the back of his, a beaming smile turned into a nervous grin. "sadly, i think i got lost on the way here. then i ran into those guys...and...well...you know the rest."

he'd turn to watch his sceptile and dragonite talk amongst themselves, the shelgon merrily joining the conversation. "anyway, what's your deal?" he asked the girl. wondering if she, too, were lost.

t was a normal day in petal town. a small town just between petalburg city and petalburg woods. it was a small town, but they were well hospitable to guests. many had their pokemon out and about, children frolicking around. all seemed to be going well until the sudden scream within the central part of the town.

a crowd gathered to surround an injured man. as mateo came rushing in, he'd tell those in the way to move about. once inside of the crowd, he'd come to see a man beaten and battered. his pokemon, a machoke, held the trainer upon its back, and in his hands a noibat that was unconscious. mateo would ask, "what happened?!" the man tried his best to speak, but alas he was unable to. "we need to get him a doctor!" standing up, he'd look around, "is there a doctor around here?"

only murmuring was heard as all, too, wondered where the town's doctor was. perhaps he was within his office and didn't know what was happening. regardless, this man needed to be looked at as fast as possible.

lashing was the sound that echoed near a lake. the water rippling as dragonite and sceptile combated against one another. "again!" mateo ordered. telling the two to fight with all of their hearts content. "we have to strengthen your defense; you hve great offense, but that's not enough when you're at a type-disadvantage." this would be much easier if he were able to find a center to transfer his pokemon from blackthorn over to him now.

"alright you two, keep it up." they were fighting upon the lake. there were many boulders for sceptile to jump on; whereas dragonite utilized the sky to fight. "keep using the rocks as platforms. the goal is to not fall and keep your balance perfect, dragonite, as for you, your goal is to chase him down. don't allow him to get away, idjit!" mateo exclaimed to the duo during their training. "let's keep up that dragon energy you two!" suddenly, his attention was caught off guard from the sudden arrival of a newcomer.

just what could they have wanted? were they human or pokemon? mateo would soon find out once they were to emerge from the shadows.

hat?! he's twenty-three, "i'm twenty-three, idjit!" mateo retorted. pointing at the guy, yet again, with an intense shout, "you can be any age when it comes to collecting a badge, idjit! what person in their right mind would collect badges at a young age, anyway?! especially in this dangerous region!" it was ludicrous! to send your child on an adventure at such a young age, he wished he had such an opportunity! but he got all the training he needed back home, and he was fine with that. it made him prepared for the world outside, and even in, blackthorn.

"hey, idjit, this region is pretty damn nice. though i've begun to hear a bit of rumors hear and there about what's going on." scratching of his head he'd place his other hand upon the hip, unsure as to how he should exactly respond to such a matter. "in all honesty, you guys are trainwreck." but then he'd give the blonde haired male a beaming grin, "it's a good thing the strongest tamer around has arrived, the true protagonist of this story!" extending the palm of his hand outward, all five fingers straight, he'd heroically pose in front of kyle with his hand in the male's face.

"i'm from johto. we've had our fair share of trouble here and there. now we're at peace though and that's gotten boring!" it's not to sound ungrateful that there is peace, but those who challenged his gym weren't that all entertaining. "the people back at home began to notice how bored i became, so they thought it was about time i hopped on the train ride to learn about my mother's roots; she's originally from here." mateo explained, a hand returning to his hip. "also, i'm actually here to see someone! a pipsqueak who used to work for me, he was like my little disciple. i wonder how's he doing though..."

girl? and she was...cute. a "woah..." as he watched her embrace his team. she really took a liking to them. they merely gazed into each others eyes, then the umbreon, and merely allowed it to happen; all while being confused. mateo wasn't sure as to who she was, but she definitely wasn't apart of these guys. "i was passing by and i saw that they gathered up a bunch of pokemon." he explained, pointing to the unconscious rocket crew. "of course i let them all go, so the pokemon are safe."

wiping some dirt off of his face. he'd turn his back on the girl to continue questioning the nerduels. "i assumed they were poachers, but it looks like you guys have a real nasty ragtag group terrorizing this place!" picking one of them up by the collar of his shirt, he'd point to the letter "R" logo on their shirt. "what's that mean?" he'd inquiry. he didn't work for the league, but he was no stranger when it came to a looming threat. "where i'm from we deal with poachers a lot in johto; i didn't think hoenn had the same problem, idjit."

dropping the guy. he'd maneuver his the palm of his left inside of his trench coat. clearly she could see that the male did not possess a shirt under, but a strange metal stomach brace that matched another brace around his neck. dangling around his neck was a necklace with a strange stone that had little importance at this time. mateo would pull from the inside of his trench coat a keycard. held in between his fingers, he'd wave it around with a cheeky grin. "you look like you're familiar around these parts, wanna go on an adventure?" he asked.

taring at the bag in the individual's hand. he'd come to take note, "ah?!" he reacted. he was a customer apparently. that unexpected, why did he assume he was a custodian? there wasn't much room to understand his reasoning. regardless, that didn't fix their problem.

turning his attention toward the suggested button, he'd say, "you better be right about this." his focus remained upon the button. with a sigle gulp, he'd push it. and so they waited. he'd stand there waiting, waiting, and waiting. the button remained pushed in once he removed his finger, but it only took a second for the button pop out like a bullet! the button was flailing about, bouncing from wall to wall. mateo made sure not to move in hopes of not being hit. the button would come to land in between the two.

"wow, that normally doesn't happen in real life." he commented, an excitement donning his face, "let's do it again!" wait, pausing. he'd clear his throat. "alright, well, that didn't work." examining the mechanism that controlled the metal box. he'd try to see if there was anything that could help. "how old is this elevator? when was the last time this thing was suspected!" moving away, he'd come lean his body against the wall. "this doesn't happen where i'm from. what a crap way to start a new experience in a region." he groaned.
