Adam had been watching from a nice seat that he made out of a large rock that had been poking out of the ground. It was an alright spot; it was a rock so he wasn’t expecting much. And not expecting much most certainly meant that he didn’t expect the thing to start moving.

Even less so, he didn’t expect arms to pop out of the ground and grab him. ”What the hell?” Was all that Adam could get out before he was lifted in the air and the ground beneath him shifted, revealing that a Graveler had been his seat this entire time.

The Graveler started to swing the man about like a baton and Adam wasn’t sure which one would happen first, him vomiting or snapping like a twig. Luckily for him his Garchomp stopped playing around and came to the rescue, lunging out of the sands and striking the Graveler causing the rock Pokémon to release its grasp on Adam.

As Adam went crashing into the sand the two Pokémon continued their battle with Graveler responding with a Thunder Punch which unfortunately for it did no damage to the Garchomp. The dragon then happily responded with a Dragon Rush.

When Adam regained control of his motor skills he looked around to see the outcome of the two Pokémon duking it out. ”I think I broke my everything.” He groaned, rolling over and picking himself up off the ground.

”Oh yeah something is definitely fucked.” As he stood up he held his hand to his back, it wasn’t going to really help but it was better than nothing. Kanē had taken down the Graveler and that sort of strength would be handy so Adam threw an empty pokeball at the rock creature in an attempt to catch it.

As Adam continued to watch his Garchomp tear up the scenery a Quagsire wandered to Adam’s side. ”Oh hey there.” Adam lazily said in response to the Quagsire sitting next to him. ”I hope he’s not tearing up your home.” It was a bit late for apologies at this point given how much redecorating Kanē has done at this point.

There was no response from the Quagsire at first, it just stared at Adam with that big dumb look Quagsires always had. It then let out a cry before moving on, wandering to who knows where next. ”Well I guess that was interesting.” He’d let his Garchomp have a bit more fun before calling him back. They could be spending their time being much more productive.

Adam listened to the woman’s words, nodding every now and then. Her experience with Munchlax would prove to be useful despite her making it sound like it wouldn’t bare any fruit. She should honestly have more faith in herself but that was a conversation for another day.

”Eaten his fill huh.” Adam spoke to himself in almost a whisper as he looked over from Avery to the Snorlax in question. What and how much did this big guy have to eat to be out like this? The very thought of the amount of food sent shivers through Adam’s body.

Thinking about it would make him sick so he quickly dispelled the thoughts as to save his stomach from the trauma. ”Sing?” What an idiot he was! Adam should have figured that song would be a good way to wake up sleeping beauty here from its slumber.

He watched as Avery pulled out what looked to be a worn flute, clearly being quite aged. Would a flute even work on a behemoth like this? Well it was better than nothing and it wasn’t as if Adam had any better ideas, though one that might work did just pop into his head.

”Music is a great idea! You get to trying to wake him up with that flute of yours while I go get us a backup plan.” After he said that the man wandered off in quite a hurry. ”I’ll be right back! Good luck with the flute!” Those were the last words he’d say to Avery before disappearing into the sea of people that were watching the duo do their work. Now what exactly was Adam running of for? If music was going to be the key to this mission then they were going to have to bring the noise and Adam knew just how.

As Adam watched their Pokémon go to work he didn’t take his eyes off of them as Kyle asked his question. ”I don’t remember there being anything saying we can’t do this.” The silver-haired male shrugged, encouraging their Pokémon to keep going as one of them looked back. ”And besides I really don’t think they’ll care.” He added before thinking of something to possibly placate the miners in the even they catch wise.

”Maybe we could give toss something their way. Keep all the good stuff for ourselves and give them the so-so stuff. Make it sound all nice and pretty.” He’d boast a mischievous grin while rubbing his hands together and the thought of striking gold.

Once their Pokémon had dug for quite some time Adam figured it was good enough for them to check what sort of spoils they might have gotten. ”Alright let’s see what we’ve got here.” He said as he gleefully looked through the pile.

It was odd, Adam never fancied himself the type to really care to get all dressed up and play a role like this but he was actually enjoying it. The awkward glances and the whispers he could do without but everything else about it was nice.

He wondered if he could get away with taking home this fancy sword they gave him, though at times he wasn’t sure if they were staring at them or the Pokémon that accompanied his cloaked friend. ”I hear the festivities are pretty awesome, so I’m with you right there on looking forward to it.” It was the whole reason why he decided to show up in the first place.

”Why thank you and I have to say you are looking magnificent yourself.” She really did, almost exactly like those princesses in all of those fairy tales. ”H-hey!” It was all he could get out as Delphi took his hand and pulled him along, not sure where she was leading him too.

Adam didn’t protest much after that, he was certain at this point it wouldn’t matter as the woman seemed quite determined to take him somewhere. Their journey coming to a halt once they reached the stadium.

He could hear the buzzing of people’s voices, see the light coming through at the end of a tunnel that of course led to battlegrounds. It all became clear to him when Delphi had boldly challenged him to a battle. He smiled, containing himself from grinning like an idiot, as a hand reached for a capsule that within held one of his trusted friends.

”I happily accept your challenge! It’d be an honor to battle you!” There was a bit of a change in his voice to make himself sound more “noble” or at least Adam’s version of what those Princes and Knights sounded like in all of those movies.

Her final taunt was met with a smile, they were both enjoying this. The Prince would release his Lucario from his capsule home, the Pokémon stretching once it appeared. ”The Prince versus the Mighty Dragon, huh?” He smiled to himself before releasing his Noivern.

He explained the situation to both of his Pokémon and came up with a little plan to make things more exciting. After he was done explaining his Noivern took off for the skies, her role would be played later. Now they would have to make their way to where the battle would commence.

Growing up Adam had been exposed to this situation many times. The walk into the stadium and how there would be all the sound in the world but for you it was silent, it was all too familiar to him. This time it was of course different.

No real high stakes or pressure he just had to put on a show and have a good time battling with a friend. But he was more excited than what would be expected. She had challenged him and honestly, it felt a bit more than just doing it for her role. He couldn’t help but think how much fun this was going to be as he moved forward.

”Yeah I didn’t even know they came in this size!” Adam scoffed; not having paid too much attention to whomever had just made that comment about the Snorlax’s size. He scratched his head again, really mulling it over before realizing someone really did just say something to him.

When he looked over at who it was exactly he was pleasantly surprised to see such a cute little thing standing with her Munchlax and Riolu. Was this who he was going to be working with? Well seeing as she had a Munchlax maybe she had some idea on how to handle its evolution.

If that were the case than things would probably be easy moving forward now. ”Name’s Adam Shepard, nice to meet you.” He’d say as he approached her, a hand extended to shake hers.

”Given the situation we’re in a bit of a crunch situation. Don’t want to keep these annoyed people waiting any longer than they need to be, lot of people go to go to work and what not. Last thing we need is for them to direct the brunt of their anger from the Snorlax to us.” He joked, only being half serious.

His eyes would move from the woman and back to the Snorlax. ”So got any ideas? I was thinking maybe if we could wake it up with some food. Big guy might pop right outta bed for some tasty grub.” A simple response but it was better they started somewhere rather than not doing anything.

And hey it just might work you never know and Adam hoped it did. Anything to prevent them from going to a more violent response would be preferred. Fighting a pissed off Snorlax of this size was definitely not on his to do list.

Adam shrugged at Kyle’s response to his piss poor attempt at figuring out what was going on and if they had any stones for them. ”Kind of not surprised to be honest.” He replied, letting out a deep sigh while messing with his hair.

Now they’d have to find something else to kill the time before they could go home and do something else. Kind of a bummer, he expected this to be much more entertaining than what it was.

”Sure, why not?” Adam responded, he had nothing else better to do. If they were going to be looking on their own then Adam had a good Pokémon for the job. He released his Garchomp and explained to the dragon what they were doing here and what his job would be.

Once they found a good stop to start digging he’d let Kanē have at it. The Garchomp was always looking for excuses to start destroying stuff and digging anywhere he can, so why not direct that energy in a more productive way? Beat the hell out of him causing property damage and Adam having to pay for it.

”Be funny as hell if we find some real good shit and they turn up with nothing.” Serve them right it would.

”So this is what you want to come out here for then?” Adam blinked, watching his grown ass Garchomp play around in the sand like a big baby. The man was just passing through the route minding his own business, simply enjoying a walk with his Pokémon, when as soon as Kanē noticed the small beach nearby the Pokémon just had to come over here.

Felt bad for the people who were relaxing nearby as his Garchomp tore of the sands with all of its digging and swimming around in the sand. Honestly if Adam cared he’d be really embarrassed but there was something endearing about watching the dragon’s behavior.

It’d be hard press to believe that this was some sort of mighty creature that was capable of wanton destruction. At times Kanē could be a pain in the ass to control but Adam would rather this be what happens as a result than the other times the Garchomp would lash out and could potentially remodel a city block.

The crowds of people had all been for the most part unfamiliar faces. Now there was no issue with this but this is why it was quite the pleasant surprise when Adam did recognize someone among the people.

It was none other than the delightful Delphi Sorrow, the pleasant woman who had helped him not too long ago. Seeing her was quite the treat and watching her get into the whole medieval timey thing was endearing. He wondered how she got tied up in all of this, was she like him and got roped in without much of a choice in the matter?

”Lady Delphi! I didn’t expect to see you here either!” He returned a bow, happy to see her. ”But it is a welcome surprise!” He would then motion for her to follow him. This was mainly to get even more away from the crowds, have a moment to themselves. Or at least the closes thing they could get to it.

”So what brings you out here? Just came to experience the fair in a casual sense or are you here for on the festivities?” Speaking of which Adam was informed that one of those events was starting soon and he’d have to be a part of it.

”I believe there are some sort of competitions starting soon. Was it jousting or a battling tournament? Can’t seem to remember?” He tapped his chin as he spoke, trying to piece it all together.

”Even though I was just thrown into all of this I’d be lying if I said I didn’t kind of dig being “Prince Adam”. I look great in these robes.” The tournament would soon begin and those involved would be called for it.

”Once or twice, huh?” That might come in handy. ”Well I’ll leave it to you if we somehow get lost or turned around.” Adam added, doubting it would come to that however.

”The whole situation with your home sucks, sorry to hear that man.” Just thinking about it pissed him off, innocent people having their lives ruined by a gang of degenerates and psychopaths, and for what exactly? Control over the region? Money? Just to cause chaos? It was why he hoped to run into some rockets, to let some serious steam off and work out some anger issues.

Along with Kyle’s Growlithe, Soul had also noticed the Pokémon that would be guarding the nearby area. Looking, Adam took note as to how many and their positions along with the fact that there were no trainers nearby for these Pokémon. Sentries, that’s the role they were probably playing.

If there were more inside then these guys would just be the appetizer. Adam releases his two dragons and the three came up with a plan. ”Hmm you say something?” Adam asked, almost missing Kyle’s question. As he spoke he and Soul were already climbing on Kanē. ”Oh hell man I think it’d be rude of us to not come in with some sort of flair.” He joked.

”I can come in high while you come in low? I got the sonic if you got the boom, blow the shit down and give them hell before they can even realize what’s going on!” A simple Boomburst from Sire would probably be more than enough to make some noise but the combination of that and a dive bombing Garchomp? It was definitely not something that you can really prepare for or foresee.

Adam had kept this bored expression for so long that when Kyle brought up having one of these alleged Mega Stones he could barely make a surprised face. ”Oh shit really? That’s pretty awesome man.” The idea of the guy eventually having an army of super dogs was both hilarious and scary at the same time.

But Adam couldn’t shake the feeling that these stones were going to cause nothing but troubles for both people and humans alike. ”You’ve got to show me that Mega Manetric some time.” The silver-haired man would add as it would be better than just sitting here.

Kyle’s suggestion probably wouldn’t bare any fruit but what the hell, they weren’t doing anything better. ”Yeah sure why not.” Adam spoke, getting up from his spot and turning to the miners to see what they were up to. Deep in their work, the miners ignored there would be bodyguards as they diligently searched for their prize.

When Adam asked them how their progress was one of them promptly told them to piss off and they’ll let them know when they find something. Something else about their job just to be watching or whatever, Adam wasn’t paying much attention.

”Well that well.” He honestly hoped some random Pokémon or thugs attacked to make things more interesting. Or soon he’d offer to play cards or something with Kyle to kill the boredom.
