The priestess listens to his words rather keenly, paying attention to them like a student might a teacher. They were simple, but, true. There was no 'trick' to suddenly make the world stop spinning or her fears insignificant. All she could do was push forward and make things right. "I see..." She spoke in a softer tone, giving the slightest of nods. "Aren't you afraid of making the wrong decision though? There's...something that I feel I should do, that I need to do, but, I'm..." She was at a loss for words, "afraid."

She knew Kyle was planning on leading a search party of his own. If she hurried, perhaps she could catch them. But, what if it'd be better to wait until they had more backup? What if she proved to only be a burden to the more experienced trainer? 'I can't just...sit here and do nothing! But, I'm...'

There's a knock at the door in sync with the beheading of the anorith cookie. For once, the priestess decided to come in the legal way instead of her usual means of simply 'appearing' without invitation. Today though, instead of making her usual rounds in bothering the head scientist of Hoenn, she was here for a reason and purpose.

"Little tepig, little tepig let me! Or I'll huff, and I'll puff and blow your house down!" Her little greeting ends with a giggle.

a look of gruesome horror is what falls over the pinkette at the look of suffering her lopunny has. blue flames spit from its mouth like drool and the smelling of burning flesh is horrid. the pink rabbit attempts to bath and drink in the soothing droplets of life dew, but, it does little to soothe the wrath of the holy flames. unsure what to do, noelle can only return the rabbit to its pokeball in an attempt to save its boiling insides.

seeing the carnage caused by its fearsome winds, dragonite pauses in its endeavors. proud more than mortified of how quickly the flames had spiraled out of control, it was a short-lived emotion, as it too was withdrawn to its pokeball, followed by blissey.

only her blastoise remains out on the field, dauntless in its facing of the raging flames. not keen on sticking around and slightly uncaring of the area itself, noelle persists in forging a path ahead. she released her slowbro, who merely yawned loudly despite the danger. "carve out a path," she instructs both pokemon. blastoise immediately sets to work. powerful jets of water launched from its cannons to quench the fires up ahead.

slowbro teetered behind a bit, and so, it instead watched their rear. Ensuring that put out flames did not reignite and trap them in, it let the stronger 'mons carve a path whilst, with a yawing water-pulse, it put out fires from behind them and their sides.

noelle herself made sure to hurry along, not wanting to lag behind and risk being consumed by the encroaching flames. "...why?" her question was towards Bailey Cooper , upon witnessing the elite four try and capture one of the tiny menaces. it wasn't judgmental - well, no, it was. it was mostly concerned though. why would anyone want to keep one of these tiny monsters?

things, of course, wouldn't be that easy. while a few of the odd, sharp creatures were felled by the consuming void, many of the swarm remained awake, and broke past the wall of sand that once surrounded them after a few attacks. blissey did her best to counter the oncoming hoard but, alas, it was like bringing fists to a knife fight - you don't. bailey's shout demanding offense was met with a nod, "aye aye!"

with all the fire that was flying around, noelle quickly withdrew steelix, not wanting the large beast to get caught in the...'crossfire'. instead, she released lopunny, followed by one of her dragonites and blastoise. "peach, fire blast!" to think that once, she had regretted teaching the supportive pokemon such a destructive move. the blissey stubby hands put themselves together before a massive torrent of fire released itself.

watching both kyle and persephone's pokemon releasing such an intense blaze of fire in an attack she'd never seen before, noelle was eager to hop aboard the train. "fairy floss, monkey see, monkey do!" there was an eye roll from the lopunny, but, she obliged the otherwise dumb moniker of 'copycat'. Similar to persephone's sigliyph, the rabbit would stand alongside her allies, as a brilliant swirl of fire released itself from her mouth.



"hime," the dragonite snapped to attention. "fan the fires!" in an explosive, dangerous finisher, the dragonites wings began to flap, conjuring up a mighty roar of powerful gusts of wind. the hurricane would act as a means to further enhance their fiery attacks and push them towards the ultra beasts at a faster pace. "overwhelm them!"




her blastoise would play a small, supportive roll of fire watch. acknowledging the brashness of her actions, she'd grown as a battler in the sense that she understood her, occasionally, stupid actions. and could, sometimes, put up a fail safe for them. and so, the blastoise prepared a hydro pump just behind the defensive lines, like a sniper in the wait with his canons pointed and ready. if the fire got out of control, he'd be there to quench it.

just before their true purpose for being here starts, they're momentarily distracted by the sound of a nearby fight. noelle isn't keen nor interested in investigating it - she wanted to get out of this backward place as soon as possible. the sharp sound of metal clashing was daunting, but, before she could suggest leaving it be, kyle had already made the first move, followed closely by Bailey. her brows knitted into a look of confusion, but, inwardly, felt somewhat ashamed of her own selfishness. dangerous world or not, if that person was in danger, why not save them whilst they were here? even if that tentacle raised several questions.

with the main attackers, hopefully, placed to sleep, noelle offered support, hoping to avoid a possible fight that wouldn't need to be had. it took her a moment to jump into action, as she struggled to find blissey's pokeball. "peach, go on defense. get ready to counter," the egg-shaped pink pokemon nodded, stubby arms separating as a look of concentration played on the normal type's face. she found herself warily staring at the sickly green tentacle, wondering if it could discern friend from foe. if they didn't attack it, would it attack them?

a second pokeball is released, and her luck proves right when the hulking form of her steelix is revealed. "sand tomb," she points towards the odd ultra beasts. a swirl of grainy sand bits are summoned to hopefully ensnare and confine the trio within them. they looked small - possibly fast. if kyle's attack failed, keeping them trapped in a small space might not be so bad either.

"Yes - yeah!" Noelle was quick to answer, not wanting to seem completely incompetent. to her relief, it was her typhlosion that came to her rescue. a snarl and blaze of his collar of flames was what drove the foul-tempered tortoise into moving, as the fire type spat embers at its heels. with a breath of relief, she was quick to rejoin her ally just up ahead. "some of these pokemon are really..." she trailed off, but the clear grimace she gave said enough. the desire of using her dragon types to really install some sense of 'pecking order' here was immense, but, she decided against it. they were scared and/or upset, she couldn't blame them for acting difficult.

"Do you think we'll run into any trouble?" There's a bit of anxiousness in her voice, "it feels like its also getting colder and colder by the minute -" She paused, brows furrowing slightly. "I didn't...take you as a person who.." She struggled to find the words without seeming overly blunt or offensive, "enjoyed...going out much. Like this." Instead of being tasteful, she found herself fumbling. truly, to her, the silph seemed like he'd much rather be indoors with a keyboard at his fingertips and telling some assistant what he wanted from a nearby staryubucks.  

the professor's patience and sympathy was appreciated, as she experienced the trauma over losing her pet fish all over again. one minute he was there, in her arms and enjoying the ride and the next minute...splat. sniffling once or twice, she gave a shaky smile and nod. "he was! really beautiful, just like this anorith," she stroked the top of the pokemon's hard shell once more before placing it back into its aquatic home. she warily noted the much large fish pokemon that also inhabited the spacious tank, but, since when were relicanth's dangerous?

"...thank you," she used the back of her hand to wipe her tear-stained eyes. she briefly considered offering the professor a hug but, that'd be weird. still, her arms had lifted and she approached, stopping midway if just to awkwardly pat his shoulder instead. 'smooth,' she thought confidently to herself. "let's finish cleaning up, then we can do fun sleepover stuff before bed. like a pillow fight and...stuff," she absentmindedly spoke, stumbling over her words once, but, sounding excited nonetheless as she began to aid in cleaning up once more.

"if you put as much effort into this as much as you complain, you'd already be a master at it, y'know?" taunting words were followed by a short giggle. unlike her partner, her steps were fluid and natural, done without much thought or hesitation. pink and green hued strands spilled and bounced against her shoulders with each purposeful movement she made.

"i can make it more....your style, if that helps?" noelle offered without the slightest hint of further explanation, she merely kept dancing and enjoying herself. until she abruptly kicked her leg out to trip him with a sole, "think fast!" he liked this sort of rough, dumb, boy stuff, right? 

It was both childish and hopeless to try and rely on the affirmations of others to make herself feel better. She wasn't a child that needed to be lied to about an otherwise grim situation. Despite this, Noelle visibly flinched at the truth the young silph uttered.

"I know," the words failed to come out how she wanted to. They were cracked and weak, as her smile fell completely and her fist clenched. To her annoyance, she felt tears beginning to well in her eyes once more, both out of sheer frustration and desperation over the otherwise hopeless situation. There were so many things that could go wrong - that would go wrong. It made her mind swirl and chest feel heavy, and she found herself rubbing her eyes, trying to hide the influx of waterworks. "S-sorry," she apologized, head bowed.

"How do you...how do you stay so calm?" She felt embarrassed, amongst her anguish. As a priestess - no, the priestess of the Dragon Den, remaining in a state of calmness was detrimental to her role. 'Inner peace', was what they'd called it. But, here she was, dealing with her first, real loss and barely able to keep herself together. 

Relieved to see her companion was still in one piece, a smile quickly found its way to the woman's lips. Returning the overly large mass that was Steelix's body to its pokeball before it could cause the ceiling to cave in, she let out a breath of sheer relief. "Huh?" A small hint of red tinged her cheeks at the professor's compliments, and she found herself feeling flustered. "I-It was nothing! Really, honestly!" Her modest words were accompanied by another smile. Always, she thought of herself as the weakest or less capable within the current heirs of the clan in the art of battling. A priestess still had to be capable in protecting both herself and the den, after all.

She rolled her shoulders, trying not to seem too overly enthusiastic over such a simple compliment. "Well, if we're done here...let's get going! Hey! Let's go get some ice cream or something, I'll treat!" She was positive she'd left her wallet at home, but, she was sure the problem would work itself out somehow. 

the preparations before their trip had been brisk and quiet. as though knowing how easily their 'adventure' could come to an end once they stepped foot through the ominous ripple of swirling space, there was no room for mistakes. she takes a large team, perhaps feeling slightly over prepared as a few pokeballs attach themselves to her belt, whilst others stowed away in careful places for possible future use. a slightly worn fanny pack is used to store some of the others, as well as several pokemon that weren't her own. if they found mateo, he'd need to have his pokemon with him, no?

prepared, terrified, but, ready, noelle stepped through the portal.

the feeling of time and space shredding apart and becoming meaningless couldn't be described in words. the acceleration of her heart to the pounding of her ears, she felt as though her body was being torn apart, fiber by fiber. thankfully, it was nothing more than her mind playing tricks on her. she was alive - and so were the others. the blinding clash of colors faded into muteness, and with a few blinks, noelle was able to finally gather her bearings.

no longer were they standing in kyle's parent's home, but, instead in a tear of space itself. it was a breathtaking sight, if not a cold, alienated feeling of the unknown. "this is..." she breaths out in a soft gasp. before them stood three different paths, one with a glimpse into the disaster they might've held. already, an anxious feeling found itself welling in her throat. the usual daring boldness and idiocy the priestess possessed was nowhere to be found, as her stomach swirled with doubt. which path were they supposed to take? she looked to her companions, ushering towards the portals.

before she could ask any further questions though, there's a ripple, as something else enters their swirling tunnel of time. for a moment, she feared that, already, one of those horrendous space beasts had caught wind of their intrusion. instead of a hideous amalgamation of a 'pokemon' though, she see's...

"perse...?! and...you-...yoouu," had she ever met the last member of their elite four, bailey cooper? she only vaguely remembered seeing the incredibly...dauntless woman nearly running her and mateo over like bowling pins via her scolipede. either way, she's both relieved and confused to see them here.
