”Yeah pretty much.” Eva nodded, watching as the cute little bugs were marching towards the source of the smell. It didn’t look like there were any stragglers but the ones that didn’t appear affected looked really annoyed.

A plan popped into her head, causing Eva to release her Volcarona. The Pokémon’s ability to summon strong winds would be able to blow out any other bugs that were hiding in the home.

Eva didn’t expect that. She took a seat next to the rocket boss, happy that they weren’t rushing to get working. She’d then listen intently as he’d go on and explain their target for this job.

”Nice, love easy jobs. Though got to wonder why so many people think it’s a smart idea to skip out on paying us.”

”I’m not sure where I’d put all of them.” Eva replied, mulling over the idea of actually taking the entire bug Pokémon hive home with her. Unfortunately there was no way Eva could realistically justify taking all of them.

”Well we could get a good lot of them to come out of their own accord.” Eva hadn’t come alone, she got some grunts to come with her along with some equipment and trucks.

”After you called me I figured it’d be a good idea to bring this with me.” As she spoke some grunts took out some canisters from the trucks, once the lids were take off a pleasant aroma filled the air.

”This should attract a lot of them and we’ll be able to led them in the truck, any other stragglers we’re going to have to take care of ourselves.”

Eva never really liked jobs like these, not that she wasn’t good at them but that she’d much rather be in her lab. This sort of job definitely was for the low level grunts who needed to be kept busy.

Eva absolutely adored bug type Pokémon so this was like walking into a bug wonderland for her! She rushed straight here when Cadis had asked her to come and help him with this bug ‘infestation’.

”Look at all these lovely bug Pokémon!” She squealed, running towards the house.

”You’ll let me keep some of them right, right?!”

As the others did their part to give the scientist an opening Eva summoned forth her Gardevoir. ”Take it down.” All three of her Pokémon attacked the distracted Magmar.

The ensuing explosion of energy was enough to obstruct their vision but once the smoke cleared the Magmar was in the perfect state for capture.

”Bag it and tag it.” She’d order the surrounding grunts.

”It’s very possible that’s the case.” Eva agreed.

”Magmar’s are known for their destructive nature whenever they get angry. They’ll keep burning everything in its path until whatever it’s mad at and everything around it is turned to ash.” She explained, figuring that this easy explanation was probably the one closest to their answer.

”Angry and looking for a fight isn’t a good combo.”

”Maybe.” Eva began, watching her Starmie dowse out some flames.

”Something like a week mentality might do the trick or the trainer was abusive to their Pokémon and the Pokémon had enough of it and dipped.” She shrugged, there were plenty of reasons a Pokémon might leave their trainer.

”Or perhaps the trainer just didn’t want the Magmar, it can be just as simple as that.”

The idea of turning this troublesome Magmar was an interesting one and would make this job much more worth it.

”I’d like to capture it then try and evolve it while it’s shadowed. See if that would possibly make it more powerful than if it normally evolved.” She mused, following Cadis.

”A single Pokémon causing this much destruction is quite impressive. I wonder if it perhaps belonged to a trainer beforehand, might explain its power.”

Eva’s own Starmie assisted in clearing a path and dowsing any flames that would be a risk. The job was simple all things considered but the raging flames were more than annoying.

She had sent her Volcarona ahead deeper into the forest of flames to find the source. Or at least to confirm where it was theorized the flames were coming from. Seeing the Pokémon above was enough for Eva to confidently relay this information to Cadis.

”The Magmar is located deeper in the route, almost seeping over into Slateport.” She replied, showing Cadis a map on her pad which circled where the Magmar was supposed to be.

Out of the two Cadis was much lax about how they should handle it. Eva was prepared to nuke the ever loving shit out of this cargo and truck if it turned out whatever they were about to check was hostile.

”I’ll go check it out.” She said, volunteering herself as she hopped out of the passenger side of the truck. As she went to go inspect the cargo she released her Gardevoir, backup in case things went immediately wrong and Cadis wouldn’t be fast enough to help.

”Alright let’s see what we’ve got here.” The scientist said to herself as she opened up the back of the truck and went to inspect their cargo.

He might enjoy surprise but Eva surely didn’t, not when it came to something like this. ”Sounds like a plan.” She’d reply before a noise came from the back.

”Our little ‘friend’ needs to learn how to be a silent passenger.” She growled, thinking to herself if it made a noise again she’d go back there and deal with it. Eva quickly calmed herself, relaxing in her seat and switching her attention back to the rocket boss.

”Dittos would be nice actually. Been a while since I’ve work with that Pokémon, they’ve got a lot of utility.”

”I’m sure if we wanted we could take some.” Eva shrugged. ”Doubt that they’d notice a missing one or two or we could persuade the client to give us some for our hard work.” Having more test subjects for her experiment was always nice.

That or they could be used to arm more of their grunts. She looked back herself, wondering the same thing has Cadis.

”Could take a look before we drop it off, see if there’s anything worth keeping.” She doubted it but couldn’t hurt.
