Eva was incredibly distracted, eyes glued to the screen that she held in her hands. On display were the contents of their cargo, information flying across the screen as she swiped.

Because of this she had almost missed what Cadis was saying, only taking notice when she had finished reading a section.

”Hmm? Oh right, driving. Yeah sure it can be fun I guess, probably be more fun if we weren’t carry precious cargo and go crazy with it. See how fast this hunk of junk can really go.” She replied.

”I’m sure overtime you’ll understand very well.” The Servine reassured the younger Pokémon. From the little bit that Fafnir knew about the rocket boss he was a bit eccentric but he always seemed to mean well.

Her next question was a strange one but not because it didn’t make sense but because he had never thought about it. ”There might be a little bit of a change.” He began.

”You might feel or act a bit mature but you’ll mostly be the same and you won’t forget anyone and even if you did I’ll be there to remind you.” He’d smile.

”She’s a great trainer.” Fafnir smiled. Despite how cold her exterior might appear the woman was only ever kind to the Pokémon that she called her own which is probably why they were so loyal to her.

As the Eevee went on about what she might evolve into it reminded the Servine of all the different possibilities.

”I’m sure whatever you evolve into will be great. Maybe your trainer already has something in mind.”

Fafnir smiled as he listened to the Eevee, it had been quite some time since he was last exposed to something so pure so it was a nice change of pace. Not to say that his normal day to day life was terrible, in fact it was the opposite, but no one had this sort of enthusiasm.

”That’s a nice dream.” He said sincerely. The Servine then blinked at the Eevee’s suggestion, him, dance? The Servine chuckled a bit at the thought.

”I’m not much of a dancer so I think I’ll pass on that one.” Still it was a funny thought. ”Hmm I think just helping my trainer is good enough for me for a dream.”

Fafnir was a bit taken back by the little Eevee’s innocence and contagious optimism, it made the Servine smile a bit. ”Yeah, you got it.” The servine said, reassuring the Eevee had the right idea about what Rocket was.

The Eevee’s follow up question was a bit of a head scratcher, did he have a dream? ”I haven’t really thought about it so not right now I don’t.” He replied.

”What’s your dream?”

He was left here to look after the younger Pokémon. Not a job that the Servine was exactly enthused about but if Eva asked of him to do it then he would comply with her wishes.

Fafnir wanted to wander off but the Eevee asked him something, causing the Pokémon to look down at it.

”An elusive organization that pushes forward the vision of your trainer.” It was the best way the Pokémon could describe it as he didn’t know all the details.

”Well I guess everyone has their ‘thing’?” What someone would see in someone called a Pokenger she would never understand, person’s probably got a lot of problems.

”Alright I’ll go make sure everything’s in order.” She replied, catching the phone and then walking off to make sure everything was going as planned.

Eva’s Pokémon were more than excited to jump in the fray so they wasted no time leaving the humans behind to go fight. ”Oh okay alright yeah don’t wait for me to say anything.” She sighed, shaking her head. Anyone else would probably be worried but she trained her Pokémon well enough that they would be able to act on their own without much of a problem.

”A whatenger?” She blinked, turning to Cadis as she tried to wrap her head around what he said. ”What the hell is a pokenger? Sounds like a disease.” Eva scoffed. ”Interesting is a nice way of putting it. I think filled with a bunch of loons is more like it.”

They weren’t showing themselves which either meant there were none around or they were being annoyingly patient. Either one wasn’t a desired outcome but the former at least meant less of a headache to deal with.

”hunter should be able to help sniff them out.” Eva casually released the ariados, relaying what his orders would be and with that the Pokémon was off.

”I suppose running into no problems is a good thing, despite the waste of time.”

”We could do that.” Eva replied, running a hand through her hair. ”Wrangling them in might be more work than they’re worth and I’d have to go through extra precautions to make sure they didn’t cause any trouble while handling them.” The thought of it was giving her a headache but Cadis still had a point there, if they could be useful to them then why not.

”But if you think it’s worth it then fine let’s try. I’ll roast them if they end up being more of a problem than their worth though.” She’d turn to her two bruisers who didn’t seem pleased from the talk they overheard.

”Don’t give me those faces, you heard him. We’ll try to catch a few of them.”

Her normal uninterested disposition wasn’t to be found despite that a job like this normally would warrant it. She had a personal stake in this place outside of it just being a useful asset for Rocket. Some of her guinea pigs came from this place so any harm that came to it affected her more than usual.

”Tch. Annoying pests, I’ll get rid of them.” With her Incineroar and Drapion by her side taking care of any threat should be easy.

She’d wait a moment before answering Cadis’ question on how they were doing in terms of progress. It seemed their little experiment was working and that their job here for the most part was done.

”We’re looking good so we can leave these Pangoros to themselves. Unless you want to watch what comes next.” She’d tease. With a job well done she’d pack up her equipment.

There was definitely a lot of truth in that. Breeding can be terrible boring which was part of the reason Eva avoided it, research was much more fun. If it wasn’t for the fact that she was currently working she’d take more interest in what Cadis was saying given how strange it sounded to her.

A ‘right’ to see Pokémon in any other light than servants? What in the world did that mean? ”Perhaps that’s just a limitation your putting on yourself rather than some sort of right.” She replied. Again, she couldn’t get too deep into it as it was time to get the rest of the plan in motion.

With the aromatherapy kicking in they would have to wait and see what sort of reaction they’d get from the Pangoro.

”I have a system in place that’ll release an aroma at a set time. I may or may not turn it off or on depending on how the Pangoro are acting.”

Eva was impressed that the man knew what was talking about and wasn’t one of those types that just threw shit out there for the sake of it.

”Me a breeder?” That thought hadn’t crossed her mind in quite some time.

”Maybe when I was younger I might have entertained the idea but my work now is much more interesting. But you’ve got a point; you seem to know some stuff yourself. Ever thought about it?”
