the word of the week is anxiety.[break][break]

considering that she's only recently started to connect again with ana (albeit in the form of ana trying to take daphne out "shopping") and.. it was nice, admittedly. it was nice enough to be able to spend time again with a sibling, and it brought a small smile to her lips throughout the day. well.. there was no use trying to dwell on it. [break][break]

he arrives just on time, which is good, because she's just finished the lasagna recipe from their mother (the woman is on the other line right now, and daphne's holding the phone against her ear with her shoulder trying to following directions for how many hours). it looks.. alright, close enough - edible - but.. certainly not attractive. but it should.. taste ealright, right? she can test it out with leonidas when he arrives. and speak of the devil, he rings the doorbell and she's hanging up the phone. "one moment..!" she calls out from the kitchen, removing the apron and setting the lasagna to cool at the side. then she walks to the front door, opening it up to see the familiar man standing in front of her. "ah.. leonidas" she blinks a few times, and tries to wear a small smile "come in, come in~.."

"that.. does sound terrifying." a shudder runs up her spine, and she can swear that she just felt a chill. imagine having that kind of jaw running around the house; it'll probably make huge, maw-shaped bites in her couches if the little guy was teething. [break][break]

"i would say that the worst that apatite has done was.. make dents in the wall" and holes, many holes. with his hard, rock-like head he tries to make a point with the tyrunt, tucking his head in before running towards a gravestone and ramming against it - only to immediately bounce off, and started whining softly as his little, stubby arms try to hold the part he hit (because stone seemed to be a bit too hard for him). "apa--" she starts, before sighing softly, a small, defeated smile to her lips "... as you can see, then he cries when he can't ram into it because it hurt him~.."

well.. no news is good news, especially in his line of work. to be honest, daphne would be more worried if there was something noteworthy to be said, and she'd be more than happy if he just ended it at "same old, same old". she had hoped that it would only end there as he worked with the stove, although they're in hoenn, and with hoenn came disasters that seemingly appeared to happen one after the other, for no explicit reason.[break][break]

".. mmn. i imagine that it's.. jarring." she still remembers the events of the bombing, the war and the appearance of ultra beasts. it made the take over of rocket in slateport look like child's play in comparison (so is it a surprise when rocket wants to help fight against the beasts? after all, there is no region to rule if destruction runs its course). [break][break]

her eyes lower to the stove, and a pensive hum comes from her lips as she, very instinctively (and unconsciously) pinches a piece of his apron between her fingers, to tug. perhaps it's the anxiety getting to her, or the idea of someone getting hurt. even though it's his job.

"well.." she starts, nestling further against his shoulder with a hum, and a smile to her lips "you should~" she chimes with a humming chuckle, golden locks pressed against his arm and chest as she begins to make herself more comfortable in his grasp. [break][break]

"or are you calling me a liar..?" a gaze of viridian emerald moves to gaze up, all as her free hand idly moves about to search and rest her fingertips between the gaps of the arm around her shoulder. "my eye tells me you would do wonderfully, especially with the confidence of yours~"

it's been a while since she's been to hoenn. it's been longer since she's seen any other family members. the last time she's actually.. spent some quality time was with a family member, before the war (before alex died in the war where she was present, and she'll never let herself live that down). [break][break]

shake it off, daphne. today is supposed to be a pleasant day, where you spend time with your sister and the two of you enjoy your time out. never mind the instinctive butterflies in your stomach. never mind the slow anxiety that creeps up on you, that makes your heart wretch slightly, makes your palms a tiny bit sweaty and your ears a little red. were they red? she doesn't know, so she tries to hide them either way, with golden locks. [break][break]

a glance down at her watch says she's about five minutes early, so now she's waiting for a dear sibling who told her to wait so they could go.. shopping (shopping in her own store, no less. they may as well have walked into a closet and started picking out hat they wanted to wear). she'll be here soon. [break][break]

.. oh god, she'll be here soon.

she immediately reaches over, scooping the bagon off the ground. though he's still energetic, trying to struggle in the trainer's arms as she desperately tries to hold the little dragon back. "h-hey.." she grumbles, softly, watching as the blue and white pokemon whines and struggles and thrashes in her arms. she has to hold him out, just so he doesn't accidentally kick her. [break][break]

"i am.. so, so sorry.." she mumbles, quickly adjusting her arms to hold the bagon in one, using the other to quickly grab his pokeball and contain the little dragon. confined, she lets out a soft sigh of relief. "i should be going, mmn.." she holds her hand over the pokeball, doubtlessly feeling the little bagon thrash about in his jail "we can perhaps.. finish our conversation another time?" it's a bit of a questioning tone, and comes out a little less sure than she wanted it to. [break][break]

regardless, she gives a wry smile before turning off, intending to go and.. maybe get some poffins. maybe to bribe and calm the little dragon down.

"i--" she pauses, a slight hue of red to her cheeks as she mulls the offer over. loathe is she to turn the offer down, but it's.. just a little embarrassing, especially since she feels like she's just been a bit out of shape. but.. it should be alright, right? it should be okay, right? since it's just something for fun, something just to try and get close to the dragons. [break][break]

so she smiles a bit, nodding her head as she walks along with him.

ah yes, memories. reminds her of her garchomp when he was still a little gible, so yes, she can imagine how fast and far a stubby little dragon can run. just recalling those old days brings a small smile to her lips, the memory was certainly vivid. "i've found the opposite to be true.." she tucks a lock of gold behind her ear, and in the corner of her eye she watches a trevenant wandering through. [break][break]

after some subtle deliberation, she pulls a pokeball from her bag to throw at the walking tree pokemon, before turning her attention back to calix, here. "i can rarely trust apatite to be well behaved in the house.." she sighs, briefly turning her gaze to the little bagon, who seemed to be having the time of his life. "he's nearly broken.. far too many things" she narrows her eyes "including the walls.."

"i never said that it was scary.." she's pouting, with her cheek slightly puffed as she takes another glance past the man's arm. there was nothing wrong about wanting to avoid getting splashed by the oil.. again. so then why does she feel so embarrassed, and childish? haa.. [break][break]

she collects herself, moving away from him to give him the room to work. she wouldn't want to get in his way, after all. "work was alright.." she enjoys this more than when she would work for the family business ".. mmn, nothing too important happened today, and no news is good news." at least, it's how it always was. [break][break]

"what about you? nothing bad happened today, i hope?"

angry bagon was angry, so the little guy started huffing, and puffing, then he tried to just dig his little feet into the ground before trying to just charge and.. run with the arm over his head. something in the bagon's head thought that it would be a good idea to just.. ram both his head and the panda out of the ring, onto the ground. he's probably gonna be disqualified. [break][break]

all while the trainer's face is reaching a deeper scarlet in colour; accepting compliments was never her strong suit. or.. rather, accepting them was easy for her - they were a dime a dozen. accepting sincere and genuine compliments were difficult. just as she's about to say something, though, her eyes catch the little bagon running his way out of the ring, toppling himself over with a pancham. "apatite!" she starts to stand instead, then moving to start weaving through people to get to the little.. dragon. [break][break]

that looked more like he was trying to roll and wrestle with a pancham. oh dear.

"it wasn't all too bad.." at least, since they did have a few other workers helping them out. their group wasn't all too big, anyways, so it should have been more than enough (they came prepared with blenders and apricots too, so it was a win-win, really). [break][break]

a garchomp stomps not too far behind, carrying a box that stored the juice in it. if you looked closer, you could probably see the little sparkle of pride on his face, upon being greeted with the admiring gazes of smaller dragon pokemon. all meanwhile, the other trainers seemed to already be lining up, being handed some bottles by a gallade. [break][break]

"i'm a little excited to see how this will turn out~" the woman hums, pre-emptively picking up the bagon at her legs before he can run off to.. probably challenge the other pokemon.
