That was… completely and totally unfair, why did she get another Pokéball?!

Was the world being cruel to her?

She was definitely not going to take this sitting down, though! After lathering on more sunblock, she then returned to the waters for today’s video dive to see what she’d find this time around.

She really was a sucker for punishment, huh?

And she’d come so close the second time!

Third time was the charm, right?

Right?

“Bottoms up!” she crowed as she took aim with the Pokéball-sized baseball, and let it rip.

Hilariously she would only find a Pokéball this time around.

“Oh, come on!” she exclaimed, tossing the empty Pokéball into the bucket before looking around. Surely she’d be able to do better than that the next dive, right?

Right?

Off she went into the dark, murky waters—bracing herself for another crazy find.

They were over and done with the shorter drop first (which wasn’t much of a splash) however the second drop loomed up ahead—while it wasn’t terrifying, the way that it angled looked absolutely terrifying.

(From the ground at least.)

“Hold onto me, okay?” she would reassure Zack, who was practically clinging onto her like a leech now once they made the climb.

“It’ll be over in like, a few seconds,” she continued once they sailed around the small corner before getting ready for the taller drop—s

“Close your eyes if you have to!” she added as they went over the bigger drop—and the resounding splash literally drenched them both as they made their way down less than a few seconds later.

“How are you?” she continued once they were back at the platform, helping him get out—both of them drenched from head to toe.

“…now we can go on the lazy river ride, that one’s even wetter than the last one… but I’m sure your sister wants to go on another ride for now, let’s wait for them to get back here.”

She could only give him this stare when he egged the kids on into giggles… like, really? Come on…

Thankfully she was already dressed down and ready to go on the water ride, so when she turned to Zack, she asked him if he wanted to be carried going in and heading out.

…to be fair even he looked just a mite scared, so there was that.

“I’m pretty sure your dad is going to do something with Lyra, I can tell,” she mused as they got into the log ahead of the other two.

“Are you brave enough to face your fears head-on?” she followed up a few moments later, before Zack turned back and maybe shook his head just a little bit.

“Sometimes, you know, the best way to deal with something that terrifies you is to go straight into the thick of it… like I did,” she continued quietly as they began to ‘sail down the river’ in the log, headed for the first drop.

“Unlike you, I didn’t have a dad growing up, so there’s that, too.”

Look, she was trying her best to help her son get through this, okay?!

Was it going to be a diving contest between the two of them? Who knew?

She could only cackle as she brought out the… holy shit she couldn’t believe she’d gotten an actual Pokémon from underneath the murky waters!

Well, that was a surprise.

“Don’t throw it back in!” she would warn the kids as she went down for another quick dip.

She could only cackle when he tried to dunk her, to no avail. Ha! At least she had that going for her!

Now her problem (after getting herself out of the tank when someone else sent her into the water) was apparently getting the same thing that he did before her—survive three tries on the ‘throne’.

But wasn’t it like, cursed and all that?

Either way, she took aim at the unlucky person who was seated there today, and let it rip with the Pokéball-sized baseball!

“Oh, come on,” she ended with a pointed eye roll (which sent the kids into howling laughter at this point) as she made quick work of the last of the kernels.

“Hurry up, the line’s getting long!” she shouted back once she’d fallen in line and purchased four tickets for the biggest water ride there was (hilariously there were several, considering how hot Lavaridge was) and once she’d secured the tickets he’d made his return with the kids all dressed… down, for better wording.

(This was a water ride after all.)

“So who’s riding with who? I know these things can only take 2 people,” she gestured. It wasn’t the wild river-style ride they were getting on, but the log ride with the fairly tall drop.

Time to see which of the kids were going to chicken out…

“Aha, so that’s where you went!” she exclaimed, arms on her hips as she saw her better half just sitting there looking pretty.

“Would be a shame if you… took a dip, right?”

With this absolutely evil grin on her face, she picked up a Pokéball-sized baseball, took aim, and let it rip!

Okay, so she wasn’t expecting to make this a two-for-one thing, however the moment Josh Dragomir surfaced holding up something like it was a prize, she couldn’t help herself.

“Watch how this is done, kids,” and with that she quickly slathered on sunblock, before taking a running start and diving into the water.

Was this going to turn into a mom vs dad competition? See who got the best shiny thing?

Maybe being up here for too long was a bad idea…

Was she able to knock some sense back into her companion? She certainly hoped so.

Either way, she approached—never mind if it was more bouncy than normal due to the crazy gravity up on the moon, Metagross hovering behind her—and she waited.

“Shall we go back home, then?” she continued softly, pointing at the planet that shimmered across the seemingly infinite space, wondering how they were going to get back. Was there going to be another… beast flying back in the opposite direction, back home? Back to where they came from?

Nonetheless, they would eventually make their way back (she’d achieved this thanks to her Metagross’ protective psychic barrier surrounding them as they made the return trip), back towards the greenery, towards the strangeness… the weird place that was Hoenn.

The place they called ‘home’.

Little did she realize that there would also be a surprise waiting in her pocket when they would land, how… how did that strangely-designed piece of paper mange to fold and insert themselves into her pocket? That was odd…

Why was she getting a hair-raising feeling that the little piece of folded paper was… was very much alive?

Did this… perhaps come from the ‘moon’ they’d ended up visiting?

It doesn’t take long for her to eventually fall into the giant silver creature’s slipstream in order to keep up with where…wherever they were headed at this point.

(It looked like the moon, but better safe than sorry, right?)

The moment they cleared the atmosphere, though, she realized something was up—hastily swapping out her Braviary for her Metagross and jumping from one ‘ride’ to ‘another’ in the middle of things.

Common sense and reason won out, plus she was sure that the Metagross would be able to protect her when they were up here as evidenced by the shimmering barrier of psychic energy the blue beast had summoned around them before they came to a landing stop on the…

…they really were on the moon, huh?

Gravity was wacky up here, that’s for sure. She squinted in the distance, seeing the greenery that made up the western half of the region; idly wondering how it was even possible that they were up here on the… oh, that’s right.

Of course being the more sensible one, she allowed the Metagross to ‘trail’ around behind her, allowing her some room to move around and then…

“Aren’t you worried about getting stuck up here?” she began in her companion’s direction. Who, for some reason still wasn’t speaking to her. The last time she’d saw her, they were at least able to exchange a conversation or two. Now, though?

Her brows furrowed. Little did she knew that being up on this strange place would give her… mood swings. (And not for the better, either. This was going to be hysterical.)

The worry evaporated from her, though, the moment she noticed that something was off with her companion as she approached the other—but still kept some distance away.

“You know, normally I would leave my nose out of other peoples’ businesses but you’ve been awfully silent. You can… you can share, you know? Or not, if you don’t want to. It’s just hard talking to someone who doesn’t even realize you’re there. It sucks.”

Was she becoming the naggy mom again, all the way up here?

“It wouldn’t hurt to speak up, you know. Or then again, maybe not, because you’ve been keeping up the entire ‘I don’t want to talk with you’ charade or something. Kind of grating, considering last time you were still conversational.”

Oops. She didn’t mean to just snap like that…
