“You were always going full blast… you’re the one who needed to calm the hell down and stop to smell the flowers every once in a while…” she teased back, booping him on the nose.

“There was this one time you kept on going to work non-stop, and well from what I heard you fell asleep in between takes… look, you really need to slow down and take things easy. That’s another thing you need to learn: slow down!” she chuckled a few moments later.

“Silly, yes, but at times you can be way too serious…” she added a few moments later, giving him a harmless cheek pinch. She let him lead them around the ice, and soon enough they were alone.

Well, alone as alone could get, as they’d skated clear out to the opposite side of the rink. “Wow, will you look at that,” she remarked as she tilted her head up to look at the sky above them.

“Look at the stars.”

Adjusting her clothing was easy enough. Wiggling the bracelets, she realized that they were perfectly mold to the contours of her wrists, so whoever had the misfortune of getting stabbed in the eye was going to have to bear that.

It didn’t take too long for her to hear a familiar voice… and the moment she turned around, the first thing she saw was the handle of the sword strapped on his back.

“Arceus, I know where she is. SHE’S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!” she half-hollered, half-screeched, raising her arms and waving them up and down her in-game avatar with much vigor. “You idiot, I got here before you did! What do you think?” she asked a few moments later, giving him a chop on the head.

“Ooh, you went full Chocobo-head huh?” she teased a few moments later, realizing just who he had chosen his in-game appearance to be.

Well, good things came to those who wait!

…did that apply to her, despite the fact she was a Brawler and not a Warrior? It really depended on the circumstance. Should she tell Josh about this place? She was sorely tempted to do so. Only how was he going to take the aftereffects of respawning elsewhere if he wasn’t lucky enough to yank the thing out…

Well, she would keep that secret from him!

She thought she saw someone familiar trying to pull out the sword from the stone suddenly explode into a million tiny pixels…

…was she seeing things? Did he really bring out the long, thin blade?

Well, at least she would have an interesting story to tell Josh—rather, DragonSoldier—when they met up when she respawned.

Taking a calming breath, she then gripped the hilt and began to pull!

It didn’t take her too long to pick out something that would best represent her. Who knew that the spiky bracelets came for free with the outfit she chose?!

Although, she didn’t realize it yet, that her attire was definitely panty-shot worthy. Knowing how many perverts were out there, she could at least knee these idiots in the face should they come too close.

I mean, these moves should be rational enough… I think? She thought as she finished her selections, and pressed “Begin” before being taken straight to the tutorial area.

Wait, tutorial area?

“Oh, come on!” she groaned, looking at the interface and seeing that there were some beginner-friendly quests that were available. Shrugging, she knew that she was going to need the money to get better in this game, so off she went anyway.

“Come on, where are you?!” she mumbled under her breath. She was pretty sure the twins couldn’t come with them here on account of being too young, so… there was that.

So she was here once again.

Okay, so maybe this place was a bad idea to get lost in.

Sure, she had noticed that there was someone headed her way. Just as she was about to ask for some guidance to get the hell out of the place, she was beset on not by one, not two, but three separate attacks coming from multiple directions!

Whoa! She thought in a panic, looking around as she frantically tried to move but well, how the hell was she going to move when she couldn’t even budge?! What the absolute fuck?! Looking around frantically, she couldn’t do anything but take… wait, why the hell was she being ganged up on?!

I haven’t even done anything to you! She thought angrily as she was beaned in several places—there was no way she was going to be able to defend against all of them at once coming from multiple directions.

However… she did have an ace up her sleeve. Much as she didn’t want to reveal it too early, she had to, because how was she going to handle all of these… these idiots at once?!

Frantically searching her Friends list on her interface, she let out a small squeak—her husband was nowhere to be found. Ah, shit.

She hoped her attempt to block with this move would work. Punching down, a powerful tremor ripped through the area. Earthquake had come into play, and she was the epicenter of it. Would it work? She had no idea.

“Three against one isn’t fair, you idiots!” she growled.

“See, it took you a freakin’ decade to go out on your journey… I had the advantage of starting maybe earlier than you… by what? Five years? I know, pretty old for someone to start journeying at fifteen, but you have to remember… I was the only one my mother could rely on with the café,” she continued with a shrug.

Izumi then stopped for a few moments to watch him catch a Numel, and the sound of skittering made her look around wildly. Sadly, it was just a gigantic Ariados scuttling away, looking for relief in the sweltering heat.

“So, what do you think? What should we get them?” she asked him a few moments later.

“Should we ask them, or just surprise them instead?”

Another scuttling noise drew her attention, as she looked around and tried to pick out where the hell the noise was coming from.

Okay, whoa, what the absolute fresh hell?

How did she end up here, in this dark stretch of forest? Lost, confused, and definitely disoriented, she felt the back of her head pounding as she slowly came to.

Mercifully she didn’t have too much on herself, and thank the hell she was a Brawler-class fighter so she could literally kick anyone’s ass to the moon. It didn’t help that she actually knew how to defend herself outside of the in-game class she had chosen, so there was that element of surprise.

Now, the more pressing question was…

Where the hell was she, and how was she going to get out? Alone?

“Hello?” she tentatively called out, wondering if there would be anyone who would answer. She kept her eyes and ears peeled, wondering if there would be someone who would even dare sneak up on her!

Seeing all the Lilligant in bloom reminded her of so many things. Unless her eyes were deceiving her, did she see one that had a pink flower crown on its head?

And for the record, why were they all only-female? Were there no male Lilligant? Or was it survival of the fittest?

She wondered what the female equivalent of ‘Tennō’ would be, should there even actually be a translation for that word. Heavenly rulers.

More like, sweet little flower queens… she thought to herself as she shrugged her shoulders and reached into her back pocket. Wondering if luck was going to be on her side, she threw the Pokéball and watched it arc high into the air before landing…

Hoping she would get one of these beautiful creatures.

“Clearly they don’t like moving around so much… I guess… I guess they’re not into adventuring like we are. At least, not yet anyway,” she added with a shrug, blushing hotly as he twirled her closer until they were almost face to face with each other.

Now, everyone else who saw this pair sailing by gave them a wide berth as they skated further out, to more privacy. It was for the best anyway.

“What, settling down here? Right back where we met all those years ago?” she teased, mischievous grin on her face. “Well, we already have the property picked out, surely it would do the kids some good if they stayed in one region altogether. Learned a sense of permanence. Like… what have we been doing, running around all over? We haven’t stopped to seriously consider their thoughts and feelings about this whole moving around business…”

It was here she booped him on the nose.

“You’re so silly,” she breathed out a few moments later, letting her feet glide her along the ice, come what may.

What would a Brawler like herself do with something like a sword?

She asked herself that question as she followed the rumors. What was it with that… some sword stuck in a rock? In a graveyard?

Okay that was a little disconcerting, but at least she could see people actively, actually heading there and trying to pull the damned thing out. The funny thing was they seemed to vanish into thin air, like… like they were being eaten, or something.

Shrugging her shoulders, she walked up to the stone and then saw the blue-colored hilt.

She wondered if this was a good idea.

Shrugging, she sets both her hands on it in an attempt to yank the danged thing out of the rock.
