As the gauntlet commenced, Oscar watched vigilantly from on high. Things got interesting quickly as Hitoshi Inoue and dorian westcliff ambushed Gerald Kaiser . If more joined the fight, it could be easy pickings for Oscar. They just needed to clump together, and one Techno Blast would probably be enough to blow them all away. Unfortunately, fog began to envelope the battlefield and limit Oscar's visibility. The pale observer clicked his tongue, "Leave it to Rockets to play dirty. Now I can't see shit."

Oscar looked around carefully, staying braced upon Prime in case they had to quickly move. Only the higher areas were visible now, leaving Oscar surprised that so few of the contenders took to the high ground. Then his eyes rested upon kepler brueshaber , though only for a moment. Oscar witnessed the motions of Kepler's Beheeyem, aimed right toward him. Oscar's eyes widened as he felt a surge of static in the air, as well as the unmistakable sound of looming thunder. "Fuckin' twink bastard..."

Oscar rolled off of his Genesect, just in time for it to get smashed with the Thunderbolt. Its HUD blitzed as the electricity roared through its circuitry, causing it to stutter loudly before falling out of the air. The heavier Prime fell past Oscar, who had flattened himself into a proper skydiving stance. Slightly slowing his descent would not mean shit though if Prime could not recover, Oscar was about to become a pancake and he was not psyched about it. "Come on come on come on come on!"

Prime managed to reboot its systems before falling past the treeline, abruptly stopping mid-air as its hovering capabilities resumed. It flew backward, making a sharp turn toward its master in order to catch him upon his back. Oscar landed roughly, probably bruising a fair amount of his chest from the impact. Better than splattering on the ground though.

He stood up shakily, whirling around to locate Kepler once again. Luckily the slim scientist's location upon the high ground made him easy to spot from Oscar's vantage point. Oscar sneered as he held his sore ribs. "Looks like we have a volunteer Prime. Retaliate!" Prime aimed its cannon toward Kepler, or more accurately toward the cliff he was standing on. Kepler was clearly protected by a barrier, so Prime would have to get creative to take him and his pokemon out. Its cannon charged, the mechanisms within gathering as much Infinity Energy as possible before unleashing it as a massive silver blast (Techno Blast(Steel)/Steel Worker).

The blow should strike the cliff itself, ideally causing it to crumble away from beneath the scientist and his alien goon. For good measure, Prime fired a volley of rockets in the same direction (Magnet Bomb/Steel Worker), hopefully either battering that Beheeyem on the way down or anything else that stood within the vicinity. Oscar did not approve, "C'mon man, Kepler's cool. That was overkill." Prime began floating upward, silently content with its attempt at vengeance.

The sand was replaced by rain, an otherwise welcome change in weather now far more foreboding. Oscar looked up through his drenched bangs as the bell loomed over them, its eyes blazing with fury. If this goes on any longer, they would be crushed.

Yet Oscar believed in his pokemon, and the pokemon of his allies. He would not allow this random encounter with a giant living bell mark his end. He cried out to Babayaga, "Baba, you have the power to finish this! Imagine it's trying to steal my berries!"

Babayaga's eyes flashed, the rage that fueled his stalwart guard of Oscar's garden suddenly filling him with determination. His allies had his back, and now he would not let them down. He swung around toward the bell once more, extending his wings as wide as he could. He let his passion rage through his body, flapping into a headlong rush. Once in range, he swung both of his wings in a vertical arc (Leaf Blade).

The strike was far larger than anticipated, no doubt thanks to the fire in his heart and the help of its comrades. It split the sky, ripping apart the storm and shining the sun's light onto the bell. Emblazoned by the rays of the furious sun, Babayaga aimed to split the beast.

They seemed to actually get the monster mad this time, which was great for reading their possible progress but terrible for their survival odds. The bell tolled, a nearly deafening ring dissipating the raging sands with its force. Oscar covered his ears, yelling as his eardrums barely maintained their integrity. "HOW DID IT GET EVEN LOUDER?!"

Babayaga gritted its teeth, pulling his hood tighter to muffle the sound. He needed to gain speed if he was going to get out of range of this cacophony. Or perhaps getting out of range was not the answer. Perhaps he needed to ring the bell even harder. Babayaga turned sharply, suddenly gaining speed as he ripped toward the tolling bell (Trailblaze). The air rippled around his body as he torpedoed forward, on track to deal a mighty blow to the titan.

Oscar's eyes were forced to water as the bell unleashed a tremendous scream. Sand smashed into Oscar's face, filling his mouth full of harsh grains. Oscar spat out as much as he could in order to speak, "Baba--this is gonna need extra oomph!" Oscar pulled out a Tera Orb and thrust it forward toward Babayaga.

Already empowered by its fellow spirits, Babayaga would screech with triumph as it began to glow with a dazzling light. It emerged with a crystalline coat, signifying its complete Terastallization. Now a pure grass type, Babayaga pushed against the violent winds created by this unfathomable titan.

As it neared its target, Babayaga swung its wings with baneful force, attempting to send a flurry of glowing leaves at the mighty bell's eyes (Razor Leaf). The hopes of his master and his comrades rest upon his shoulders. Is that enough to strike a fateful blow?

Oscar should have been worried about the titanic pokemon rising out of the sand, but when Fernando cried out the name 'Kingsman' Oscar's head whipped his way. "Kingsman?" Razz Kingsman? Oscar looked to Fernando's masked companion, his flaring behind his goggles. His nemesis stood before him, and Oscar could not even take the chance to strike him!

As the massive pokemon attacked, Oscar yelled out in frustration and went for a pokeball. He paused as he reached for Prime, remembering that he was currently in his civilian guise. He growled and went for the next pokeball over. Babayaga the Decidueye emerged, having gotten buff from his time within Elisabeth Fiorelli's garden. Oscar was not sure what he ate while there, but he came out absolutely ripped.

Oscar pointed at the massive bell, struggling to maintain his balance upon the shifting sands. "Hurt that thing!" Babayaga cried out, flapping his wings to whip up an Ominous Wind.

Oscar listened passively as jayden cross and Zev Harcourt introduced the gauntlet, a smile creeping across his face as he absorbed the comfort of their familiar voices. It was little consolation, but knowing that they were watching helped settle his nerves. He was surrounded by some of Rocket's best, no one could blame him if he happened to be a little nervous. Those nerves were dead though, stifled by forced confidence. If he could not rise above these elite warriors, his friends would surely give him hell later.

As the others rushed into preparations, Oscar would leisurely wander the starting area and observed. A lot of varied strategies to keep track of. Team ups, hiding, forcing the terrain into an advantageous position. Oscar pondered if he should use any of these observed behaviors as inspiration, but in the end Oscar decided to lean on tried and true methods of the past.

He summoned Genesect Prime from its pokeball, who swiftly faced its master to await his instructions. Oscar placed his hands into his pockets, "Hover mode." Prime obliged, transforming into its compact hoverboard form (Magnet Rise). Oscar stepped upon Prime's back and tapped the top of its head. "Go up, as high as you can."

Prime did so, rising into the air over the battlefield. Floating above the treeline, Oscar patiently waited for the battle to begin in earnest. Then he would rain hell upon his fellow competitors...

Oscar wiped some sand out of his goggles, suddenly realizing that he was currently wandering alone. "Priam?" Oscar asked the air, twirling around as he searched for his companion. He had just been next to him, how did they get separated? Oscar sighed deeply as he looked in every direction for a sign of Priam, but alas the sandstorm was too thick.

His goggles, however, did provide a small amount of visibility through the storm. A humanoid shadow caught his eye, and Oscar would huff with frustrated relief. He stormed up to the silhouette, talking before thinking. "Why the fuck would you just wander a---wayyy." One silhouette became three, and Oscar suddenly realized that Priam had discovered Fernando fucking Silph and the middle of the desert. Because of course he did. Oscar paid little attention to Fernando's own companion, simply laughing as he patted his pockets. A likely vain attempt to look as casual as possible.

"Well, isn't this a fun surprise. I see you've met my intern." Oscar gestured toward Priam, hoping his reputation as a League assistant would take prevalence over any knowledge of his Rocket affiliation.

Prime's arm fell as its fellow Genesect refused to answer its 'command'. This one was different from the others. Its gaze was colder--no, blanker. There was nothing in there besides its programing. It had yet to develop any kind of personality like the other two, it was probably used solely to kill. Just as Prime was for a time.

Instead of being discouraged, Prime became curious. Did it have the skill set to unlock this Genesect's broader thinking capabilities? It certainly could not do it as well as its master, but perhaps if it played into the Genesect's programing. It was worth a shot, if only to satisfy its own curiosity. It beeped out another phrase.

"PRIMARY COMMAND: STATE SPECIES AND UNIT NUMBER."

Oscar nods with a smile as Cil releases his Genesect, opening Prime's ball to do the same. With both Genesect out, Oscar would pocket Prime's ball and walk toward Cillian. "Hey Prime, Cillian and I have some important work to do and we cannot under any circumstances be disturbed. Guard the lab with Cillian's genesect, alright?"

Prime nodded obediently, and watched as its master and the one known as Cillian made their way to the very back of the lab. Once the humans were out of sight, Prime turned its attention to its fellow Genesect. After several moments of silence, Prime decided to initiate an interaction. It raised one of its claws, and let out a series of melodic beeps as a form of communication. A mixture of morse and binary code, it roughly translated to:

"HELLO, I AM PRIME. WHAT IS YOUR CALL-SIGN?"

Oscar's first thought was 'who's deedee' before shaking his head free of superfluous thoughts. He twisted his neck into a nod, "Yes! Yes, it works beautifully. In this size anyway." Oscar gestured to the large pod, beautiful in its medical purity. "But it's not portable, which is what I need. There is no way you can lug this across a battlefield. Hmm, perhaps a demonstration would help."

Oscar walked over to a nearby box of pokeballs, every one a reject from Rocket's training or breeding programs. He pulled a random one off the top and walked over to the pokepod, tapping a few keystrokes to open it up. The contents of the ball was released, an elderly looking torkoal too confused to do anything as it was locked within the pod. After another set of keystrokes, the pokepod sprang to life with a loud whirring--its elastic tendrils stabbing themselves into the soft areas of the torkoal.

A mere few seconds later, and the machine would light up as it extracted the torkoal's Infinity Energy. The creature seized up before passing out entirely. As the machine did its work, Oscar would provide an explanation. "Infinity Energy is basically a natural power that fuels the life force of a pokemon. When extracted it can be used as a stronger form of electricity. The pod isn't hooked up to anything right now so it's just storing the energy--but you can imagine how it transfers and shit. Right now I have it so that the machine is extracting just enough to keep the pokemon in a comatose state. If I press here..."

Oscar messed with the console, and suddenly the torkoal sprang awake--screaming before mummifying and crumbling into dust. The machine sparked, but Oscar managed to turn it off before it could do anything unpredictable. "Pulling it all out at once kills the pokemon but provides a huge surge of power. It'll only last a few seconds but it's useful in a pinch." Oscar turned back to Yuan and rested his hands on his hips, "So what do you think? Can we shrink it?"

A KEY HAS BEEN FOUND

Hitoshi's efforts on the first floor paid off, happening upon this floor's key upon reaching a hand to the slightly hidden top most shelf within a storage closet. With another key down, the two only needed two more.

Oscar cringed as the sword fondled his veins, knowing exactly what the blade desired. He shrugged, rolling up his sleeve. "Alright, but yo my blood is spicy. It used to be toxic so sip, don't guzzle. Also if you kill me Genesect is going to blow up everyone within a twenty mile radius." As Oscar offered his exposed wrist to the leech, he would discover Hitoshi's success and announce it over the PA. "That's two keys down, two to go!"

Prime's head snapped up as it heard Oscar's announcement. It shuddered violently, barely containing its rage as it continued its search for a target. Zev's own search would only turn up one thing: Prime itself. Half way down a corridor, Prime decided to double back. This unpredictable movement caused the two to turn the same corner at the same time--leaving Zev wide open.

Prime immediately launched into a sprint, aiming to smack Zev and take out one of his 'lives'.
