Oscar was not dead.

Unwilling to simply suffocate and die, Oscar fought to free himself the only way how. He opened his mouth wide and began chewing into the eggplant. He would swallow nothing, instead ripping into the flesh of the veggie and spitting it out. Soon like a worm he would dig his way into the vegetable proper, using his teeth to dig through its innards.

He tunneled slowly, covered in the juices of his overly plump enemy as he inched his way toward freedom. Soon enough a tiny hole could be seen on the outside of the eggplant. Bit by horrifying bit the hole would grow as Oscar clawed and gnawed his way through. Eventually Oscar would be able to shove his entire head through the hole, heaving as he switched between gasps for air and cries of triumph. 

Oscar grunted as he pushed himself through the hole, his volume of his visceral exclamations increasing as he made it further and further out of the self-made plant-gina. As Oscar's upper body was birthed, he would be able to fully wiggle himself out of the eggplant at a much faster right. He slid onto the floor, quickly rising to his feet and sighing dramatically. 

He was drenched in eggplant juices, breathing heavily as he took in what it took to save himself from that vitamin-filled hell. Oscar lifted his arms, whooping with triumph as he turned toward the Eggplant. He kicked it aside, clearing space for his work station so he could continue his shift.

Oscar chuckled as he chose a lollipop from the cigarette holder he hid them in. He found nothing she had said to be amusing, he just wanted to mask his bubbling frustration. Bubble gum? BUBBLE GUM!? No wonder she was known as The Malevolent. Oscar hated many things in this world, and bubble gum was easily in the top five. Of all the fiendish sweets to like, shame on her!

With his oral fixation satisfied, Oscar swallowed his pettiness and nodded. "Fair enough, but I have conditions. You can only ask as many questions as I ask and no questions about stuff you know I can't answer." Oscar didn't wait to hear her agree, these were simply his conditions it was up to her to follow them or not. He gave but a second's pause before beginning.

"With that being said, I'll get this over with. Make it easy for both of us. Now Katherine allow me a moment of vulnerability to admit that I saw you as The quintessential Rocket. I didn't know you very well at all and what I heard impressed me as a grunt, so I sorta idealized you in my head. So here I have the perfect example for how a Rocket should be, and she flips sides. That's something I didn't see coming in a million years. So it begs the question, why? What was so bad that you felt you needed to leave?"

Oscar chuckled as he raises his hands, "I need to know, Rocket's never been perfect but to drive Katherine fuckin' Fairburne away--that takes something big."

He waited for her answer, and subsequent question.

The next order came in, and it would seem Oscar would have to pull up his bootstraps and help himself. First he would squirm to switch out pokemon, giving them orders on what to do next. Oscar's Forretress spun the pizza dough with Rapid Spin, and was surprisingly rather good at it. The trick, you see, was all in the timing. He looked ridiculous every time the dough slapped onto the top of his head, but hey whatever got the job done. 

Oscar's Noivern used Moonlight upon the iced coffee, which was rather ironic seeing as coffee was supposed to keep you awake. Also what the fuck was the moonlight supposed to do, make it taste like space? Who wrote these recipes, a wizard? While his pokemon worked on the orders, Oscar used his greatest effort to push apart the giant vegitables. His arms were small and his muscles were underdeveloped, but eventually he came pretty close to pushing them wide enough to free himself.

And then Tapu Bulu came back and fucked his life. The vegetables grew bigger, squeezing Oscar between their expanding masses. Oscar squealed as he realized what happened. "Wait wait wait NO FUCK!" Too late, he disappeared completely between the veggies. The only sign of him left were his muffled, angry cries.

"'od 'uckin' 'amn 'mphit!"

Oscar was in a panic all day. His heartrate was running so fast that you'd think it were training for a 10k. Not only was he going to have to have a very uncomfortable conversation after work with his crush, but said crush was probably spending the entire day waiting for him. Between Oscar running away and then keeping him waiting, there was no doubt that River was going to be pissed as hell. The very thought made Oscar ill, he couldn't concentrate on anything because he was too busy worrying about what would happen that evening.

What River told him at the ice cream truck--and over text--well it scared Oscar shitless. How was he supposed to handle this? Should Oscar just turn him down flat out? It'd save them both a lot of pain in the future. Yet when Oscar thought of that smile, those bright eyes, how the fuck could he say no to that? In the end Oscar decided it would be best to just be honest. He would rip his chest open and let his baggage just flow freely. River could decide for himself what to do from there.

Work ended, and the sun was starting to set. Oscar walked toward the fated meeting spot, his hands clammy as they fidgeted in his pockets. He came upon the fountain, and there he was. Oscar gulped heavily, praying that River hadn't been waiting there all this time. He approached cautiously, attempting to get his attention by raising a hand.

"H-hey River. I'm here!"

Oscar, still trapped in his vegetable prison, craned his head to get a better look at Priam. "A lot more blood." He said with a nod. "It's a balance though, you don't wanna look like a horror movie slasher. That ain't hot. Yet."

Oscar had already switched out his pokemon, exchanging pikachu with Zoroark and Salazzle. Zoroark helped Hone the Claws of Zac's Sandshrew, allowing for a nice clean cut for its Fury Swipes. Meanwhile Salazzle lazily used Flamethrower to cook the patty and toast the bun, wondering why the fuck she was being asked to cook. Weren't pokemon supposed to fight? What a joke.

Oscar was finally fed up with being pinned by veggies, and began to struggle to squeeze himself free. Even with his thin frame, it proved to be an ordeal. Finally his pride caved in and he let out a defeated sigh. "Hey guys, I'm stuck. Can I get some help?" His tone seemed very soft and helpless, an amusing shift for the hardened beast.

The Roosting Perch

The Mauville Power Plant is a massive monument to GMH's vision of tomorrow. This palace of energy provides power for all of Mauville and the routes that surround it, using a special generator that harnesses the Infinity Energy found within Mega Stones. Thanks to this miraculous piece of technology, GMH can distribute nearly unlimited electricity. The same generator model has been implemented within every power plant under GMH control (which is most of them) providing clean and efficient energy to the entire region.

However, reading the distribution report for the Mauville generator will reveal a peculiar destination for some of this energy. A small amount of power is being diverted to the top of the power plant. For what reason, nobody but Oscar Clayton would know. When Oscar first cleared thr rubble at the site of the Power Plant, he would be forced to displace a large chunk of the wild pokemon population. Among these pokemon was a creature of incredible power and fury, and it left a lasting impression upon the GMH CEO.

Zapdos is a Legendary pokemon, who apparently has quite the apatite for electricity. After disturbing the incredible beast's slumber, immense guilt would overtake Oscar as he moved forward with the power plant's construction. To drive off such a majestic creature in the name of progress, it was a waste of a potential resource. Additionally, it was likely that the creature would return and retaliate by consuming the plant's new energy. Something had to be done about this before it was too late.

Oscar came up with two ideas and quickly added them both to the blueprint for the new plant. The first was a sanctuary within the plant itself, acting as a home for wild electric types whose ecosystem was disrupted by the construction. The other was a massive dome at the very top of the power plant, its top having an opening just big enough to fit a weary Zapdos.

Within the dome was a mess of surging wires and tesla coils, all aimed toward a ornate perch in the center. The perch is electrified with Infinity Energy, just enough to provide a soothing charge for any electric birds that may rest upon it. The sanctuary is covered with similar coils, and electric types are encouraged to discharge excess electricity upon them. That electricity is then carried up to the top, where they are stored until a weight sensor within the perch cues the surging pylons within the dome to discharge the stored electricity toward the resting Zapdos.

The idea is to give Zapdos a rest stop as it makes its journey across the world. By giving it a place to rest, Oscar hopes to make amends with the legendary beast and hopefully one day learn more about the nature of its power. The weight sensor within the perch also switches on a light within Oscar's office, allowing the CEO to know exactly when the legendary bird is visiting.

Perch Upgrades:

Perpetual Motion Mechanism: A unique tubing system that perpetually cycles electricity in a never-ending loop. With this add-on, Oscar's generators no longer require Infinity Stones to recharge. Combined with a Never-Melt-Ice cooling system, Oscar's generators now have unlimited up time. This will allow more consistent Infinity Energy to be sent to the perch, and Oscar no longer requires the electricity of wild pokemon to supplement the perch's charge.

Visit 1: During a routine evening, Oscar noticed that the sensor light in his office was on. He did not go up to visit Zapdos.

Visit 2: It was reported to Oscar by his maid that the light came on while she was cleaning. Not knowing what it meant, she assumed that it indicated that something was wrong--thus dubbing it the 'Trouble Light'. (Birthday gift from Shiv<3)

Visit 3: As he arrived for work one stormy morning, Oscar spotted the silhouette of an enormous avian creature flying away from the power station. Shortly after, the storm that swirled overhead mysteriously subsided. (Approved by Shiv after generator upgrade).

Visit 4: A mysterious power surge had caused a blackout within Mauville City. The New Mauville generator had been sucked dry, temporarily knocking out of service. The generator was back in action within minutes, but no one could figure out what caused such a surge. As Oscar looked over the energy readings though, he knew only one thing could suck up this much energy at once. Seems Zapdos was extra parched this time around. (Approved by shiv as a birthday gift)

Oscar nearly chokes on the stick of his sucker as Jayden appeared, spooking him with his silent approach. Damn how could Oscar let someone sneak up on him? That's not very beast like. Oscar quickly recovered, chuckling to himself as he turned his body fully toward Jayden.

"Gave me a bit of a scare there, goes to show you should never let your guard down." Oscar's chuckle turned nervous, his brow straining as he tried his best not to let his face turn red. "Also we're the same rank now, you don't have to call me sir on the job. Speaking of, how's it feel to be a beast?" Oscar retrieved his cigarette lollipop case and opened it toward Jayden, offering his fellow beast one of his assortment of treats.

After Jayden responded and made his choice concerning the candy, Oscar would put his case away and point to the Magikarp Processing plant behind him. "See that place over there? A gang of thugs that are calling themselves 'Rockets of the Port' are using it as a base of operations. Normally we just rough fuckers like this up, y'know put them in their place. But these sickos are different. They're killing people when they rob them, beating on the homeless, and generally giving us a worse name. They have to be eradicated."

Oscar raised a brow as he turned back to Jayden, "I'm placing you in charge of this mission. I'm following your lead on this one, consider it a test of your skill. So what's our first move--sir?"

Oscar's previous pokemon had been returned, and the next order had been called. Things became chaotic immediately as Tapu Bulu tried to help with its horrific green thumb powers. Pressed into a counter between a giant eggplant and a massive turnip, Oscar struggled to find what was needed for their new dishes.

His concentration was further broken by an inquiry from Priam, to which Oscar struggled to respond. "Well ummm--does trying to kill me count? Y'know, that's kinda like ghosting. I-I'm sorry Priam I'm not in the right headspace to think on that. These ingredients make no fuckin' sense. How do you put love into a shake? Actually don't answer that. I have an idea."

With a great deal of wiggling and writhing, Oscar would manage to pull a pokeball from his belt and open it. A pikachu would be revealed, and the poor dear would be immediately terrified by his surroundings. Oscar snapped his fingers to get his attention, comically arching his arm over the eggplant toward the shake being prepared nearby. "Yo Polka, give that shake a smooch for me. Go go go hurry." Polka recovered from his shock, leaping up onto the counter and toward the shake. After a moment of confused hesitation, Polka would lean in to deliver a Sweet Kiss upon the glass. That should do the trick.

Oscar didn't remember why he was helping a very assertive meowth run its pop-up cafe stand, but at this point he just didn't think about it too much. Sometimes he just did things, there didn't need to be a reason why. Not everything needs to be a fucking character building experience! Though considering Chu-e Choi, Zac Ramsay, and priam conrad were involved, any one of them could have dragged him into this wacky misadventure.

Enough of the why, it was the dinner rush and people really wanted a piece of this random cafe. They're first order came in, and Oscar immediately got to work. "Alright um, how do any of these fit into a sandwich? Ummmm hold on, I got the finishes covered." Oscar pulled out two pokeballs and let out drifblim and accelgor. 

Oscar pointed to the respective stations for the required dishes. "Unburden for the foam on the latte, Sticky Hold to make the sandwich look perfect. Hop to it." Oscar's pokemon would be the last to deal with the dishes, using their abilities to give the latte and sandwich the perfect ascetic appearances. These were gonna look so damn good on the internet.

Being a pure Shadow Pokemon, the dodrio proved to be too violent and wild for even Oscar to handle. Unable to make progress with its training, he is entrusting it to Gavin in hopes that he will get better results.
