The monster fled, and Oscar scowled. The unexpected spicy kick of the mustard in his hand-sandwich intensified his emotions, amplifying annoyance into frustration. He observed the wounded and the bizarre occurrences around him, shaking his head as he finished the last of his snack. "
It's almost as if worshiping things you don't understand is a bad idea." Oscar said, wiping his hands together to discard wayward crumbs. "
If anyone's to blame for this mess it's the fanatics that have to poke and prod through everything instead of just singing songs like everyone else." Oscar gave
Bill Anderson a glance as he said this. He wasn't blaming him directly, but he couldn't shake the feeling that the good father had more to do with this then he was letting on. Whatever, not like Oscar cared that much anyway.
As people began to leave the archives, Oscar decided not to linger. He snapped his fingers, prompting Slayer and Alice to jump to attention as their master made his way toward the exit. Oscar paused half away through the door, realizing that once again Seismo seemed to be elsewhere. He clapped his hands together, "
Seismo get the led out." The claydol hadn't moved from where it had positioned itself to attack the creature. At first it seemed to be just staring off into nothing as always, but upon closer inspection something seemed to be--off. Seismo's eyes were open. All of them. For those who aren't aware, claydols tend to keep every other eye closed--yet now every one of Seismo's eyes were open wide. That wasn't the only odd thing; it seemed to be floating at a slight angle, as if its axis had been tampered with, and its normally red eyes were now a creamy beige. Oscar was put off, but he figured the fucker was just tired. He clapped again, "
Get over here you clay weirdo." This time Seismo listened, floating stoically to Oscar as the party exited the archives.
Back in the hub room, Oscar looked around to decide what he was supposed to do next. His first instinct was to head back up the stairs and go home, but considering no one else had decided to just leave he figured the way must be locked. His choices were narrowed quickly once the sound of an explosion rang out from one of the now opened doors. "
That sounds like fun." He chuckled with a smile, walking toward the sound of running water to track what happened. Much like @pokejuni before him, Oscar immediately slipped into the rushing water as he stepped foot into the hall. He cursed loudly as he fell onto his ass, splashing about as he quickly pushed himself back to his feet. He clicked his tongue, wiping his hands on his coveralls as something glittered past his eyeline. Oscar looked just in time to see the necklace he had pilfered sink under the grime. He cursed again, "
Damn fucking charity. Fuck this bleeding heart of mine. Seismo, get over here so I can float across."
Usually Seismo was a good listened, or at the very least it didn't disobey. However for some reason the claydol simply floated past Oscar, spinning slowly on its skewed axis. Oscar growled under his breath, "
You mother fucker..." Alice came to her master's aid, putting out a claw to help him climb back onto the stone pathway. Once back on solid ground Oscar would begin following the path, sloshing noises accompanying every step. Upon reaching the path's end, his sour expression would brighten slightly at the sight of
Adrian Malcolm . A boy was with him, but Oscar wasn't acquainted and thus paid less attention to him.
Oscar stepped up to the lock covered door, only then giving a greeting to his compatriots. "
Afternoon boys, what have we here?" The door and its locks were covered in scorch marks, clearly from the earlier explosion. Oscar nodded as he pointed to Alice and then to the locks. Alice nodded, knowing exactly what her master needed. She ran up to the door, sticking a claw into one of the locks before fiddling with it. Her
Pickpocket skills allowed for a deft touch, making Alice both a skilled lockpicker as well as a thief. There were some clicks, followed by a loud pound as she slammed her claw deeper into the lock's mechanisms (
Feint Attack). One of the locks fell, followed by the chain it hung from. Oscar nodded, "
We'll get through this door in no time."
Meanwhile Slayer was nervously looking around, his gaze resting upon Seismo. Seismo's open gaze seemed to peer all around them, yet he couldn't shake the feeling that it was staring at him.
