Thea steps back as Marcel gets up to pursue a head of long blonde hair, blinking in surprise. It leaves her with the man's companions who are ultimately not chatty and not particularly friendly-looking. Except the boy, who had asked for introductions.[break][break]

However, by the time Marcel returned to be mauled by a drunk Dominic, Thea would have tugged Ruby along with her to lead them both back to where oscar clayton had been left behind.[break][break]

Whether or not he was still at the beach in their designated area was another thing - he very well might have gotten up to try his hand at the limbo mini-event. She'll hold onto the drink she'd gotten for him in the meantime.

To watch his face light up with warm recognition makes her feel tingly and strange. She chooses to believe it's a positive thing.[break][break]

Thea glances back at Ruby and the girls concern, offering a slight smile.[break][break]

"Oh, just fine, Ruby. This is Kosuke, he owns a beautiful bookstore in Slateport."[break][break]

And to Kosuke, she offers a bright smile, gaze shifting to the drink or drinks he had before him only briefly.[break][break]

She notices his face go red and she relaxes her smile in favor of subtle concern - she hadn't meant to embarrass him. But the man quickly erupts into laughter and she finds herself relaxing once again.[break][break]

The woman stands back up to her full height after dumping the bucket, using the back of her hand to wipe sweat from her brow. Her attention is soon grabbed by Oscar, however, when he suggests dinner. It leaves a wide-eyed look of surprise on her face as she considers his offer.[break][break]

"That sounds wonderful!"[break][break]

Although, she glances down at the current state she is in, mildly embarrassed. She had a change of clothes, of course, but she certainly didn't look date material. Even if it wasn't really a date.[break][break]

"I'm not exactly dressed for dinner, however."

Thea empties the bag of ice she's been carrying, now that she remembers its burning a cold spot across her shoulder. Her skin is cold to the touch but quickly warms up. When the ice hits the water it cracks and splits, splashing cooler water back up onto their skin.[break][break]

She finds herself watching Oscar as he compliments her, commenting on her knowledge and disregarding her apology. It brings a small smile to her face.[break][break]

"I'm glad my advice helped."[break][break]

Of course, the woman's smile would falter and flush with embarrassment when he bluntly informs her of his name. She exhales in a slight laugh, unsure how to properly respond.[break][break]

"Oscar, my apologies. It's a pleasure to officially meet you, then."[break][break]

They return with more buckets of ice water to pour into the pool and she takes note of the way Oscar pointedly pours ice on the Dragonite. She chuckles.[break][break]

"Revenge is a dish best served cold... isn't it?"[break][break]

Thea winks at the man, clearly understanding his less-than-friendly intentions.

"Oh, you could never be a bother," is an automatic response that Thea waves toward the girl as they make their temporary exit. Or at least, Thea has every intention of finding Oscar later.[break][break]

Thea smiles softly down at the girl as she excitedly goes on about how much she has to talk about. She would remain quiet and easy to talk to, at least until they draw closer to the bar.[break][break]

She's able to fetch Ruby something fruity and specifically non-alcoholic. But the rest of the drinks will take a while because there's quite a few people still waiting.[break][break]

Her attention drifts as she people-watches, but her attention soon lands on marcel maeda just a few feet away at a nearby table. He's sitting with a few other young men (Abner Armstrong, priam conrad), one of which seems to be laughing at him.[break][break]

An involuntary jerk encourages her to speak up even though he's clearly preoccupied or busy with his own group of friends. The moment she calls out for him she feels a pang of awkward unease, the butterflies in her stomach come on suddenly.[break][break]

"Kosuke? Hey!"[break][break]

She's within distance to reach out and touch.

The thought makes her actually chuckle, an involuntary and surprising reaction from her. She shakes her head, visibly amused.[break][break]

She pulls the umbrella back to her side as she turns to face him, glancing between him and the object.[break][break]

"I do have an umbrella if you'd like some shade. I don't bite, if that's what you're worried about."[break][break]

Thea says this with a soft smile. [break][break]

It was pretty clear, however, especially later with added company, that the man was uncomfortable. Given her training with children and ability to read expression and the wobble in someone's voice, she regards Oscar with worry.[break][break]

A familiar voice sounds behind her, tickling her memory and encouraging her to glance over her shoulder with surprise and curiosity.[break][break]

"Ruby? Oh my... it is you! What a pleasant surprise."[break][break]

Of course, she casts a quick glance back to Oscar as he offers the young girl a spot with them as well if she would prefer.[break][break]

"Let's go for a walk, Ruby, I'd love to catch up with you a little bit."[break][break]

She gestures for them to go back towards the crowds of food and drink. To Oscar, she tilts her head and offers him a worried smile.[break][break]

"Can I get you a drink, or something to eat, perhaps, Oscar? Since you've been so sweet?"

Thea is walking the beach, dragging her toes in the sand and sipping her cooler through a straw. For the most part she seems to be minding her own business, carrying with her a Drifblim-print umbrella to help block out some of the sun. She definitely came out here to sun tan, but she wasn't trying to turn into a lobster.[break][break]

And she also wasn't expecting to set her umbrella down in the ideal, unclaimed spot, only for sand to spray up her back. It's hot and stings and she gasps in surprise and mild pain, turning around to see the young man face-first at her feet.[break][break]

"Oh dear--"[break][break]

Thea blinks, dropping the umbrella before it's properly placed. It falls off to the side, probably swatting some passerby. She apologizes to them in turn and seems to be blushing, overwhelmed by the amount of people on the beach and -- wait are there people smashing watermelons for fun? How bizarre.[break][break]

But her attention turns back to the man sitting back in the sand staring up at her and she smiles awkwardly at his apology.[break][break]

"Oscar! Umm - I was, actually, but I can move if you were going to sit here."[break][break]

She tilts her hat down to shade her face, bewilderment her chosen expression for the occasion.

Thea can't help but chuckle because honestly, the girl reminds her of some of her star pupils - the ones with immense confidence and potential. Of course, overconfidence and inflated egos were often a hindrance to capability, sometimes, but it was still sweet. [break][break]

"It was amazing, miss Fair. You should be proud."[break][break]

And she is, of course, thrilled to hear that the girl is willing to visit her class in Lilycove in the future. She hadn't been dishonest - she really did want the girl to make a guest appearance. In fact, she was fishing in her wallet for something to write on.[break][break]

"Please, if you don't mind, I'll have the academy reach out to you for an interview."[break][break]

Thea otherwise remains indifferent and reserved, allowing the young woman to take control of the situation and capture the Gengar for later relocation. [break][break]

"Of course, of course. Perhaps we'll bump into one another again."[break][break]

She had to say, after all, she did kind of get a thrill out of being in the action. Being a teacher was a bit boring sometimes - even if she loved it.

Semi-regular bodyguard? Interesting.[break][break]

She couldn't think of a reason Asher Graham would have need for a bodyguard. He was, after all, a teacher same as her, was he not? Perhaps he had alluded to or literally told her about other business arrangements he was involved in, but she must have brushed it off or assumed he was exaggerating. He seemed the type.[break][break]

Regardless, the bemused look on Thea's face fades immediately and is replaced with sheepish embarrassment when he, in turn, reminds her of what she had so assertively stated within the tower. She clears her throat, quelling the blush that threatens her cheeks before it might come to fruition.[break][break]

"Ahh.. yes. My apologies for my rudeness."[break][break]

She intends to use his name but fails because his name still eludes her. Despite her properness and attention to detail and social cues - she is too overwhelmed or embarrassed to outright ask him. [break][break]

Instead, the man opts to change the subject to her attire and what it is she's doing here. For a moment she is mildly put off at how brazenly he addressed her bikini get-up. She glances down at herself briefly before meeting his eyes again, chalking up his statement as matter-of-fact instead of inappropriate.[break][break]
