he pays the bill before drifting back into orbit around her. close, close, yet so far.

and when she stands, she moves closer to him, to his body heat as a lizard would a warm rock.

"i'm not a huge fan of surprises, you know," not if they're bad surprises, anyway. she doesn't think anything about this could be bad though. well, besides her.

[attr="class","giada i"]perfect, they’ve both come prepared! what an accomplishment, huh?

she spares him a wink when his hand tightens ather wrist. he leans, then, and she feels the telltale warmth of a living body radiate against her skin. it’s faint, sure, but perhaps it gives her enough of an idea into what’s to come.

that is, if she’s actually assuming right and he won’t actually toss her poor ass in jail. personally, she thinks she’s too pretty for the slammer but if anyone could rock full orange, it’s giada.

”where are ya gonna take me, ranger?” her lips spread a little wider, drifting closer to his ear. ”or should i call you something else?” first names feel too personal, too attached. nicknames, though? she can have a field day with that.

[attr="class","giada i"]laughter escapes, perhaps spurred on by the fluttery sensation of his fingers at her thigh.

"does this mean you're breaking out the handcuffs?" not that she's complaining, really. he earns bonus points if they're fuzzy!

her lips spread into a dangerous smile.

"always," she murmurs. and just for added emphasis, she shifts to grab the hand on her thigh, moving it with gentle fingers to her hip where the red whip lies. "i came prepared."

a special kind of thing happens when a man says that to her. an ego boost, a power trip, whatever you'd like to call it. of course, his hand traveling up her thigh certainly helps fuel the fire.

"if i say now, what would you do?" which role will he take on? and where do they go from here?

either way, her whip will probably come in handy.

[attr="class","giada i"]touch both grounds and unsettles her at once. a brush of a touch, really, but it sends her into a mild frenzy. there's a need and a want and alcohol isn't quite doing it anymore.

she leans, her free hand dragging fingertips along the length of his arm. and maybe she's just doing it to see what happens but he knows better than that. she's looking for the end of this game and the beginning of another.

"when?"

[attr="class","giada i"]she's leaning into dangerous territory without pausing to consider the consequences. nowhere near a first for her, really, but something feels mildly different. she sees it in flirtatious tones where he could mean lawful ones and really, where's the difference?

she enjoys handcuffs, anyway.

"and if i don't submit?" an eyebrow raises and then, a coy smile twists its way onto her lips. "what're you gonna do then, hm?"

[attr="class","giada i"]her body stiffens slightly beneath his scrutiny, as if his eyes are peeling back layers and looking at what's laying beneath. it unnerves her.

whatever remains in her drink is quickly finished in an attempt to ground, to deflect, to stay afloat.

"step in?" she plays pretend without fully intending to, shifting in her seat. the playful mask slips back on, a fracture heavy on her cheek when it settles into place. "how're you going to do that, hm?"

[attr="class","giada i"]she flashes her teeth at him, too amused to lace any intention into it. besides, her tone, alone, seems to convey enough for her body to sit this round out.

"wouldn't you like to know."

while he gestures for another, she nurses her own. it burns enough to keep her present, even if the alcohol is slowly melting her brain into fuzzy mush.

"always," she almost snorts. her, keeping out of trouble? she'd have to be six feet under for that to ever be the case. "what do you take me for, hm?" anything besides a nuisance or a bandit would simply be beneath her.

[attr="class","giada i"]her smile turns sheepish, a hand rising to twirl the end of a twin tail self-consciously. he has a point, really. she was a disaster during that entire thing. her body still aches sometimes, when cold comes and the winter air irritates her healed bones.

"true, that sucked." the pain, the hospital bed, the recovery. god, and the dent in her wallet from repairing her suit was terrible. she sips on the memory for a moment longer, allowing alcohol to burn it into her throat.

he bites at the bait she laid out. hook, line, and sinker. she can't exactly tell which one of them is reeling in the line, however. is it her or him?

"perhaps," she offers, light and airy. "is that your way of asking for it?" somehow, she didn't quite consider him the type. you know, given how he reacted the last time.
