Kim simply offers a “Kinky~” once knowledge is imparted of Sea!Kim’s fate, thoughts of if his scaly counterpart’s looks could hold a candle to his own manifesting in the same instance.

These thoughts would quickly subside as the King himself sprung into… a frenzy? Wait, oh god… Blood splattered, flinging outwards and then upwards- stray droplets clinging onto Kim’s suit and staining his hands as he protected his face- the body soon dropping with a wet thud.

With the death of its target, the BLOCK subsides, bramble withering and revealing the beheaded corpse of the sea people’s king, Kim holding the non-bloodied hand to his temples as he mutters to himself.

“You just made this really fuckin’ difficult for me you absolute bastard.”

He had just made himself a lightning rod in a thunderstorm all the wrong eyes falling on him. Venom and ichor flew his way in the form of words and attacks alike, the malice of this former king’s people set upon him for a crime he had not committed.

Kim could only suck his teeth as the Hoopa flew into acton, pausing as the floor beneath them glows. A second of realization was all it took for the Hoopa to return the Torterra with a hoop as well as pull Kim into its own- their freefall halted and enemy attacks dodged as the hoop disappeared and reappeared, shooting Kim out atop a quivering Dragonite.

Another thought passed as he peered to the ocean below, pondering if he had time to catch the body before it had chummed the waters, but the thought passed once attacks had launched through the air.

“Are we the bad guys here?” He ponders before tapping the Dragonite’s side and leaning into it in order to avoid turbulence in their flight.

ღ kim gets covered in a bit of blood before BLOCK disperses and shows the body of sea!kaz for all to see

ღ kim is pissed off at the now dead king because holy fuck

ღ hoopa returns torterra and uses HYPERSPACE HOLE to give kim invincibility frames before making him reappear atop his dragonite

ღ dragonite used AGILITY upon coming out of the hoop to speed up its flight and attempt to dodge any attacks aimed at them

A lot happens, and for him to react to every single thing in the same instance in which another takes place is unreasonable.

Instead his eyes shoot around, every direction giving him a new piece of information.

He focuses on what he can, eyes shooting towards the aqua!kazimir.

“Right…”

Kim takes a few steps away from the action, a hoop opening to the side of himself as his Torterra slowly lurches into the room, shaking a few seeds off itself as it did. Soon enough, the seeds before him sprout, a wall of plants forming in front of the two and BLOCKing the steam, vines decaying as the evaporated water scarred their skin.

“Ignore the pawns, go for their queen.”

A mental message passed to Hoopa as it sprung into action, dashing towards Kim before hopping into a HYPERSPACE HOLE, pulling sea!kaz into the hole by the scruff of his neck- taking any items he happened to be holding thanks to MAGICIAN- ideally making most attacks towards the man now null. (teehee)

Once sea!kaz was pulled into the hole and thrown before Kim, the bramble of Torterra’s BLOCK thickened all around them, enclosing them in a barrier of sorts.

“Nice to meet you, my name is Kim Cole-Essam. I can only assume you’re… what was it… King Kazimir Wynter the Third of the Great Hoennian Sea, right?”

The sweet scent of perfume begins to fill the the enclosed space, not entirely overwhelming but obviously present.

“While my guys disassemble your ranks out there, how about we talk a little more peacefully in here?”

The Torterra comes to sit down behind Kim, glaring at s!Kazimir as Hoopa floats and lands atop of the pokemon’s tree.

“Why are you attacking us? Are we intruding? Is it fear of the unknown? Are we to be questioned? You seem smart enough to know when you’re outmatched so I’d rather this not end with us making enemies of each other. Honestly if we could come to a conclusion here and now that would be greatly beneficial for the both of us.”

Kim eyes the copy with a sharp look, arms crossing over his chest as he awaits an answer.

ღ a lot happened so kim focused on sea!kaz

ღ kim steps back and hoops in torterra who protects kim with a BLOCK that slowly grows around the two

ღ kim sends a mental message to hoopa to capture sea!kaz to which it does and HYPERSPACE HOLE’s him into the BLOCK zone before most if not all attacks aimed at him can hit him

ღ hoopa’s MAGICIAN steals anything sea!kaz happens to be holding

ღ BLOCK fully forms into a protective dome around kim, kaz, torterra, and hoopa as kim tries to talk down/understand sea!kaz’s need for violence

“Then let's start there.”

He says moving to her side and placing a steaming cup square in the center of the coffee table, away from little hands that reach.

“You saw what you wanted, did what you wanted, went where you wanted, but weren’t happy. You soul searched and came to the conclusion, or at least one for the moment, that where you should go was back where you started. So what was it you did that landed you here exactly? How did you get to this point? WHEN did you get to this point?”

His words were as calm as him, Kim carrying himself slowly as he made his way back towards the kitchen, pouring himself a cup of the hot water as he used the remainder to heat a bottle of milk.

“Take you time. I’m not going anywhere.”

A tea bag is placed within the cup, left to sit as he grabs the bottle, wiping away the hot water then gifting it to the fidgeting Lira.

“Spare no expense in explanation.”

“Aww stop it you, you’re gonna make me blush.”

Kim says coyly, brushing off the compliment with a light wave.

Thought at the sight of her forming tears, Kim was quick to act, a hoop forming behind him before a Volcarona flew through, a heat wave blown in her direction and drying her eyes in an instant.

“Nu-uh! No tears! We literally JUST met up again, I don’t want you getting all sentimental before we even got the chance to sit down and catch up on a level more personal than facetime.”

He moves behind her, taking her by the shoulders and escorting her to the living room couch, plucking Lira from the Gothorita’s hands and setting her into Francie’s.

“We’re gonna drink something warm. You’re gonna spend some time with your niece. And we’re gonna talk just like we always do. The tears come after all that or maybe even during, ‘kay?.”

Continuing his motion, he moves to the kitchen and sets on a kettle, a pot of coffee brewing as he does.

“I know you said coffee earlier so I’ve got a pot brewing. I myself will be drinking tea, and Lira, milk.”

Once more silence fills the air, cogs turning in Kim’s mind before the phone call is abruptly ended.

There isn’t even a second that passes before he appears at the door, swinging it open and pulling her into his embrace- threatening to crush her in his arms with the bear hug alone.

As he swung her from left to right his hold only tightened giddily exclaiming her name as he hugged the life out of her.

“Frannyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy~”

Once he had his fill of the love he had to share, he would allow her back onto solid ground, straightening out her clothes and he continued speaking.

“How long have you been back?! I coulda dropped everything to meet up with you when you got here!” Well besides spending time with Lira ofcourse.

“Wait… what did you meditate on? Wait… come inside first.”

He gestures into the house, stepping aside in order to let her in. Immediately upon peering inside she would be met with a Gothorita holding Lira, preventing her from, Firsty: escaping the home while Kim greeted Francie, and second: accidentally getting swatted by Francie’s foot during their reunion.

There is a moment of quiet- Kim’s thoughts getting the better of him as he stood there contemplating to himself before speaking aloud.

“What? Are you in Hoenn right now?”

The question was asked half joking and half serious, a chuckle escaping as he adjusted the phone.

There’s no way she would come to hoenn without telling him… right?

There was not a doubt in Hoopa’s mind that its disguise would work, the genius that was itself only offering the best when it had come to trickery and mischief. It almost got a laugh out of him that the partygoers were as gullible as they were. Almost.

Instead, small hands hidden by the elongated arm of the trenchcoat were brought to its mouth, snickering quietly.

But the snickers would halt as it eyed the room, gifts exchanged and feeling as if Kim had been the odd one out.

The real Kim wouldn’t arrive empty handed to something like this right? Shit he needed to think fast.

“Forward.” Hoopa messages the Tyrogue, the fighting type shuffling forward.

“I wouldn’t be so rude as to not bring a gift myself… Miranda?”

The Hoopa presents a hoop, a strange plane seen inside before a pokemon lurches forth.

“Enjoy.”

The ring tunes in to the sound of screaming, a child screeching at the top of her lungs as she stomps around the house.

As it drones on in the background, Kim’s voice cuts in.

“Wassup Franny? Whatcha up to?”

The screaming nears before stopping entirely, incoherent mumbling replacing it as Kim gives a few words in response of the mumbles.

“I know, right? Yea… I getcha, yea… You make a good point… Yea I’ll tell her.”

“Lira says hi, Franny.”

The text sent to Kim’s work number was immediately intercepted and shoved into the holiday spam folder- a porygon sifting through the message before shifting it to Kim’s unreads for him to have his way with. Unfortunately for Melody, Kim had left the phone unattended- the prying eyes of a mischievous Hoopa being the first to spot it as Kim had his hands full with his own responsibilities.

'Delightfully Devilish Hoopa~' The mythic mused before hooping itself away- deleting the message that would have surely gone unread by Kim one way or another.

Arriving to the party, what would be standing at the door would not be the expected guests. Standing there instead were four pokemon stacked ontop of eachother in a trenchcoat to mimic the height of Kim himself- the pokemon appearing entirely too tall to even be close to their trainer’s height. At the top was Hoopa, a shoddy purple wig on its head draping over its horns and the heart sunglasses it had on its face. In the middle were two pokemon, a squirtle under the hoopa and an incredibly pudgy teddiursa under the squirtle. At the bottom stood a Tyrogue, this entire arrangement seen as little more than leg day in its eyes.

Ducking the doorway, the Hoopamalgamation lets itself in- mimicking Kim’s voice as it sends a telepathic message to those present in the room- it’s mouth not even moving with its words.

“Hello my fellows! It is me! Kim Essam!”

The totem bends and tilts wearily, the Hoopa doing the bare minimum to keep the others from moving too much yet still keeping them from falling over fully.

Hoopa thinks to itself.

The appearance of Doug was jarring to say the least- and the way he spoke of Kazimir prodded even further questions. There was no real time for larping when they were in a situation such as this after all.

But confusion would swiftly poise into conviction as Doug released his Tapu against the group- Kim stepping forward and speaking without missing a beat.

“If Kazimir is your king I can only image the circus your kingdom is based in.”

Kim keeps his distance but speaks with conviction, a look half lax and half stern plastered onto his face as he spoke clearly to “Doug”.

“His condition is based purely on misadventure alone- his own brand of idiocy putting him in this current sorry state.”

“I implore you to step aside and stand down, Douglas, your Tapu Koko included. He needs to be treated.”

His eyes lock with Doug’s own, daggers stared at the youth as Kim awaited any sign of acknowledgment or reciprocation in any way.

Thoughts of Sootopolis rise and fall in an instant- no musing given to them in this moment.

ღ tells fake doug to stand down and get out of the way

ღ hoopa is still eyeing fake katherine- not saying anything until she actually does something tho

Every moment the man took in hesitation was a moment Kim would have to stifle himself, the councilman holding back chuckles as Maverick countered his argument with self-righteous words that would rival Kim's own in terms of pride.

In a sense, Kim could not help but think- “How predictable.” Refusing to air the thought in order to forgo dampening the man’s bravado.

Instead a smirk is presented, the hand which once perched upon a pokeball now moving to cover his lips in a semi-coy fashion.

“Well said.” Kim spoke through parted fingers. “Truth be told an endorsement from me is not something to be won so easily; even if you did somehow manage to beat me.” He winks.

“Honestly speaking, I just felt like sparring. It’s been a while since Uaid got a chance to show off in a battle.”

A shrug follows these lackadaisical words, Kim turning his back to the man as a hand waves over his shoulder, steps slowly taken towards the exit.

“Even with that all said and done, I’ll be keeping an eye on you- you might not be all that cute but you make up for the loss with that interesting conviction of yours.” His head turns, violet strands slipping to the side and parting as he did- a single amber eye burning its stare into maverick noah ryder as he peers over his own shoulder. “But for your own sake and mine, I’d hope that conviction you’ve shown sticks as more than a front to turn heads.”

The heels of his shoes clack with each step taken forward, the councilman making his exit as he gives one last wave over his shoulder.

“No pressure.” He says in parting- a Kirlia released and subsequently teleporting Kim out of the gym.

Ears perk at the mention of receipts, Kim’s interest peaked if only for his inquiring nature. There’s a mental note checked in a similar fashion- Kazimir Wynter on his radar for when the dust settles on this whole operation and they finally find their foothold.

Attention is quickly returned to the Hoopa as it announces its own ponderings, Kim finding no real comfort in its answer.

“What might that entail for us then?”

The question is quickly cut short as the glass turns opaque and two bodies spill into the leftner’s side, sharp eyes flicking over to spot them as they dropped. There is only a second in which amber eyes avert from them- staring into the glass wall and examining the anomaly with quizzical interest- before his attention is fully set onto the newcomers; quakes underfoot ignored as PSYCHIC holds him in place.

“Kathy, Evie, nice for the two of you to join us.”

No bother in asking the fate of those on the other end, Kim placing full trust in the bodies that occupied the right side and their own capability to take care of themselves. It is simple summation that since Katherine was as close to the glass as she was during the sudden quake it would stand to reason she phased through; though the inclusion of Eva forced wonder, a brush off due to the lack of any evidence to suggest they were anything other that who they seemed to be.

There are holes in this judgement but for the moment, the best thing to do was take what he saw at face value.

Once more, he is the last to leave and last to arrive, having recalled the Gothorita as he kept pace behind his group.

Though there was much to wonder about within their new environment, what truly brought the most questions was whatever the fuck was going through Kazimir Wynter ’s mind when he decided to lick what Kim could only surmise to be either black mold or a new strand of pokerus.

The hoopa hangs behind from whence they entered, eyes continuously watching the new arrivals as Kim moves next to FERNANDO SILPH - face contorting to one of deep concern as he peered down at Kazimir.

“We gotta… We gotta keep a leash on him or something. This is getting out of hand.”

ღ overheard talk of reciepts but puts it on the backburner

ღ eyes the imposters amongus as they fall through and is kept on his feet thanks to Hoopa's PSYCHIC

ღ greets the two sus people and is only like 15% sure they aren't who they look like they are

ღ is the last to leave/arrive and returns gothorita on his way to meet with the other folks

ღ walks next to Fernando and makes the suggestion to keep a leash on this dog man as Hoopa sticks towards the entrance and eyes the clones

This little shindig could have easily been avoided, in fact, it would have been in Kim’s best interest to do so simply for his sanity alone. But for one who prides himself on his social status- it would be a sin not to partake in festivities he had been personally invited to.

Though fresh off a bottle of rum eggnog shared with none other than najwa cole-essam , Kim remained fully functional, the indulgence equating to “don’t wait up for me” in Kim’s eyes. He hadn’t planned to stay long, but the night could change his decision at a moments notice, for the better or worse.

He walks into the event casually dressed in the winter norm: a fashionable scarf mildly tucked into a wool knit sweater; Designer dress pants and black leather oxfords vanilla icing on this awfully plain pound cake.

There wasn’t much effort to make a showing of himself, the councilman simply doing FERNANDO SILPH , the man he considered a friend, a favor by showing up to his get-together, fingers crossed that more than the hired help and whoever he was fucking at the time showed up. God that’d be awkward.

As he walks through the venue, he tosses a ring onto the gift table: a hoop more specifically and makes his way over to FERNANDO SILPH himself.

“Happy birthday, King. Sup Kathy. How you hanging Kylo? Good? Great. Did y’all see that new Five Nights at Freddy’s game finally came out?”

The canoe shifts and shakes, their forward advance halted as they plummeted to the moistened floor below.

Lacking any any and all elegance, gravity takes hold of Kim, hurling him towards the stone below. That is until he is halfway down, the psychic embrace of Hoopa adjusting him upright before placing himself and the Gothorita upon solid footing.

Now freed from the clutches of Kim, Hoopa floats itself down, studying the wall and waving to those opposite itself.

As the ground lit up thanks to Raziel Beckett , Kim beings to eye those that surround him, surveying his battered crewmates.

“Everyone alright? No bumped noggins or scraped elbows?”

Just to be sure, the councilman nods to the Gothorita, the silent exchange prompting her to release a HEAL PULSE on those that inhabited the left side of the room (and potentially those on the right).

Once ease spread to the injured, Kim shifted his attention to the barrier between both sides, wordlessly shooting a question to the Hoopa as it stared at the others with an unblinking gaze.

“You good?”

A question pondered before Kim himself moved to the glass to inspect it, a hand placed upon a surface near Hoopa.

ღ gothorita uses HEAL PULSE on the lefties, but considering its an aoe, could also spread into the right side

ღ hoopa waves at the right siders before it begins to just stare at them/its own reflection/the glass itself

ღ kim asks Hoopa if its good before examining the pane himself
