Continuing to slowly suck away at the honey stick, Kim would stifle a smile in Arlette’s direction.

“I am in a lot of pain right now. Right now the only thing I want to do is drop to the floor and pass out, but if i do that it would be unneeded work for others, so I don’t. Also the sugar helps a lot in terms of ignoring that urge.”

He’d pause for a bit, sucking a bit more out of the tube before continuing.

“I’m pretty sure my arm is broken by the way.”

A glint of light would reflect off his eyes as the hyper beam shot from the regi, his eyes widening as he watched others pokemon get decimated within the hyber beams wake. Quickly, his eyes would turn to the gothita, his teeth clenching as his muscles screamed out in pain, refusing to budge from the spot where they rested. His first reaction was to go for the Gothita’s pokeball, but the quick movements only forced a cramp in his only good arm, doomed to watch his pokemon put up a psychic wall for protection, unable to safely return her before the attack neared. Even if he wanted to move, his body wouldn’t allow it.

A familiar feeling once again enveloped him, healing from yet another stray pokemon tending to his wounds. This was happening a lot, huh? But to be fair, it was needed, anything to take the pain away.

Rummaging in his jacket pocket, he’d pull out a bundle of honey sticks, offering one to @arlette and leo del río’s blissey before giving one to his gothita, moving to look at the regi with one of his own in his mouth.

The treats did their best to ease the stress this situation brought to the gothita, and with her trainer by her side, her worries would wash away.

“Bella, future sight to protect yourself and psyshock to keep those stones away from that big ugly rock.”

With a nod, the gothita would move over to stand next to the vileplume, her figure shaking slightly for a bit before straightening herself out, a light purple glow enveloping her as she primed protection, beginning her assault on the stones that made their way towards the regi.

Humility was not Kim's strong suit, in fact, it didn’t fit him. Usually any act of pity towards him would quickly be shot down, others worry over him was almost sickening. But right now, a helping hand was not one to pushed away. So when Malcolm Stone offered to put his arm in a sling he’d give a resigned sigh, agreeing to let the man make a sling for him. He’d simply ignore the other man's offer of amputation, refusing to give him the time of day.

After the no doubt cringe inducing process, Kim would follow Arlette through the door. For the record, Kim had a valid reason for not opening that door, the others tho…

For his first sight being that of a young man being turned into a fine pulp against the ceiling, on edge could not begin to describe how he felt. His eyes would not move from the splat of what used to be a man until Arlette drug him away, the Gothita, equally as shaken, standing guard for her trainer.

Her words were laughable and soothing at the same time. He’d chuckle, stifling a laugh as he reached for a ball with a trembling hand, returning the 4x weak volcarona as quickly as he gained his wits about him, letting the relicanth plop lightly onto the ground, no longer in his care.

“It was pity more than anything. I see how you handle pressure, and I have to say, Arla, you suck at it. And honestly, you should be thanking me, not only did I save your ass, I also gave you some good looking company in these trying times.

As the thought of death became more and more real, this slight back and forth calmed him down enough for him to think a little more clearly, and right now, the best thing he could do is stay in the background.

With each step taken, his body would scream more and more for him to stop wearing it down, his face contorting into an anguished expressing with each pained step taken up the stairs. It was thanks to the lanturn’s aqua ring that he was able to continue forward, the pain in his arm simmering down a bit from its thoughtfulness. But before he could thank it, the electric fish would jump into the water, a series of events unfolding all at once making him think the lanturn’s powerful words soothed the beast. He couldn’t believe what he had just seen. Sure he might have been exhausted, and sure the shock might be making him make conclusions that are not valid, but one thing he was certain of, was that lanturn was now this lakes god.

“Arlette, leave him down there, this is her turf now.”

He would go to give a salute to the lanturn with his good arm but before he could even lift it, the stairs began to give way. So much for an honorable sendoff. He’d quickly make his way up again, his muscles tensing up with each rushed step taken up the stairs once again, stopping to catch his breath briefly before eyeing the lights above the door, the volcarona close behind.

Turning back to look at those behind him, he would consider doing what he could to assure that they had made it up, but what good could he do in his state other than get in the way. Right! He still had pokemon, but the volcarona had its hands full with carrying the relicanth, he only had gothita and teddiursa, and gothita’s psychic as the better option. Hopefully what happened earlier won’t be repeated.

A ball, once at his side, would release the pokemon, it standing at the ready to help any that may fall behind, with psychic… Is what he thought would happen. The gothita could see that her trainer was clearly not in great condition and she prioritizes him over some strangers. So she would take his right hand, using psychic to relax his body a bit as they waited for others before proceeding; the volcarona patiently waited for its trainer, hovering in place with the relicanth still in its grip.

• gets a bit of healing from cila ’s lanturn and thinks it the new ruler of the lake
• tells @arlette to leave the lanturn in its new home
• stands at the top of the stairs with his pokemon waiting for others before proceeding with them

The torrent of water would nearly miss him, the tailwind assisting in his movements a bit, but unfortunately, he wasn’t fast enough. His back would meet the wall as his left side got the brunt of the waters force. He’d grit his teeth, sliding his back down slightly but keeping his balance on the wall as not to completely fall. His right hand would go to place itself over his upper left arm only for an intense pain to wash over him, leaving him speechless and wide-eyed as he grit his teeth that much more.

As the bats neared, the volcarona, still holding the relicanth would quickly move in front of its trainer, using whirlwind to push away all that neared those climbing the stairs. Kim was thankful the pokemon was still with him given all the water, but also concerned that it would tire itself out worrying over him.

Making matters worse, Arlette was still here, and having her approach while he was worse for wear was the last thing he wanted. From what he’s seen, she is not the best under pressure, and with everything happening right now, the last thing she needed to do was worry about him.

So he’d come to a stand, and start to make his way up the stairs. “Just a sprain. I can walk fine.” His form was visibly shaky, nerves in a bundle at everything happening all at once. But he did not have to luxury of calming himself down right now, this was life or death; and since that ghost whale’s water spout didn’t kill him, he’d have to keep moving forward. Adrenaline and pettiness surged through him, forcing the man up the steps.

His eyes would be locked forward, spotting the man that had jumped in the rapids with Arlette and him, a twinge of anger shown on his face. What was even the point of his dumbass jumping down here if he was gonna be a big pussy anyways? Whatever, people do stupid shit sometimes… So far the only ones not pushing his buttons in this room were @arlette , Ava Rosewood , and the pokemon. Malcolm Stone only stroked the dumbasses ego so even without confrontation with him, Kim didn’t like him.

• volcarona whirlwinds zubats and golbats that attacked people climbing the stairs away while still holding that fish
• kim tells @arlette "it's cool" and starts walking up the stairs again
• refuels his pettiness to keep him going by thinking about the dudes in this group
• makes a mental note to see if that cutie Ava Rosewood wants to do anything with a crippled man after this other than group therapy

Soon their yelling was interrupted by a sudden spirit within the lake awakening, its ethereal glow paling in comparison to the volcaronas, neither elegant nor cute.

For a moment he would think of telling it to shut its ugly ass up, but as soon as the thought crossed his mind, a water spout shot his way. His eyes would widen for a second before they squinted, looking to group that had been made, some stragglers here and there. Everything would slow for a second as he thought, his body moving instinctively to dodge.

Maybe dying here wouldn’t be so bad, at least he wouldn’t have to deal with these assholes any longer.

Halfway up the first step, he would be stopped by others that seemed to come out of nowhere. Perfect, more people down here with them that didn’t need to be. He’d sigh, about to continue upstairs, ignoring whatever it was that dude asked him, only to once again stop at the sound of Arlette’s laugh. Confusion would spread over his face before she came out with the mother of all outburst, followed by the man’s own retorts. He’d begin to grit his teeth and continue forward only to clench his hands turning around, shouting as he walked down the stairs.

“Shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck UP. Shut the fuck up. SHUT! THE FUCK! UP!!!” Stopping at the bottom he’d shout once more at both of them. “BOTH OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP!”

Turning to Arlette he’d point directly at her. “YOU! I know, we went through the exact same thing together, just keep calm so we can get the fuck out of here!”

He’d turn away and point at the other asshole that came outta nowhere with the dumbass question. “And you! I have every right to believe every word she says when you ask such a stupid fucking question like that. Get your head out of your ass you stupid fuck. Who the hell comes at people demanding answers when they are obviously in no condition to do so. Shut your smooth brained ass up and stop acting like you’re so high and mighty. You might be tough shit up there or down there or whatever direction is relevant to wherever the fuck we are right now but right now, you are nothing but a stupid ass nuisance to people that were this close to death.” He’d squint his fingers together, too close to properly tell the distance they are apart. “So shut the FUCK UP and help us look for a way to get the hell out of here.”

The sound of a bag opening would be drowned out by the whirlpool before him. The man, having opened a bag of chips, began eating them, offering them over to his gothita; who gratefully took some as the two of them watched the other leaguers put in work.

A few stragglers of the swarm here and there more worried about their lunch than the safety in numbers would be flung back into the ocean, the future sight doing it’s job to keep away any that dared to take a nip at the corosola.

As the situation was handled, Kim would give a thumbs up into the air at the other two members of the squad, chewing his chips in the process. Good job team.

“How kind.” He said in a quiet voice, clearing his throat afterwards.

“Well first, let me apologize for my first words towards you. ‘ hey cutie’ was not the proper greeting towards a young woman, and for me to think it is, is an even bigger problem.” A light bow of his head in apology would follow his words, the sincerity of them seeming legitimate. “I hope to make it up to you.”

“Second, I seem to have made you angry, and while I had fun, it is unforgivable. I may not be able to take it back, but again, I will do my best to make it up to you.” He’d clasp his hands together, a calm smile appearing on the previously remorseful face. “Now, I’d like to properly introduce myself.”

He’d outstretch a hand towards her in an attempt at a handshake, only to reveal a flip lighter within, sparking it as to give a light to her cigarette. “Kim Cole, or whatever you want to call me, as long as you do call me that is. And again, sorry for the rough start. I hope we can still be friends.” His smile would turn a bit cheerier as he continued to hold the ignited lighter in her direction.
