He ached all over, the waves not doing any better to soothe his pains, each crashing into him as he did his best to hold onto the relicanth with his wavering grip. He was almost at his wits ends when an aqua ring from a nearby lanturn worked its magic, healing his wounds greatly. His eyes would quickly dart up, unable to make out who it was that had sent the pokemon down, but god was he thankful for them. With the pain subsiding, he’d conjure up whatever stamina he had left in him to tighten his grip on the relicanth, keeping hold of @arlette with his other arm to not wain on the silk; it was strong, but the rapids were wearing it down, and he couldn’t let her get swept away by them.

Continuing down the river, then promptly splashing into the lake, Kim could only mutter a relieved, “Good.” as he loosed his grip slightly, letting the relicanth bring them to shore, the volcarona following closely to it’s trainer overhead. Once they had arrived, he’d use the reilcanth’s skin to cut into the silk, ripping the rest off as he dragged his teammate to land, dropping her as soon as she was out of the water and continuing forward a few steps. Violet hair draped over his face, water sloughing off as he wrung it dry, flipping it to his back (probably splashing arlette with it in the process) after he had gotten as much as he could out.

“Boo.” He’d say quietly, the waterfall in the background almost drowning out his words. The volcarona would quickly shoot over to him, letting out a heat wave in his direction, it being just warm enough to dampen his clothes. He’d lift a hand, signalling for it to stop, the pokemon doing just that as it stayed overhead, continuing to provide light to those in the area.

With a sigh he would look back at the two pokemon that had helped him get here before turning to look at the woman that had previously spoken, who now seemed to be looking over them.

“We’re alive, that’s as alright as we’re gonna get. Thanks for asking.” Dim eyes would look to the other two before popping a question of his own in a less than excited tone. “Any of you have pokemon that can carry one of these? I don’t want to chance it with psychic again so we need physical strength.”

He’d snap his fingers, a grit of his teeth following as he felt his fingers tense up. He’d go on to rub them as he commanded the volcarona to use string shot on the two water pokemon. “The string will keep them wet for a while, we just need to get them moving with us. Boo, grab the relicanth.” The volcarona followed its orders, picking up the rockfish and following its trainer as he walked towards the stairs. Kim planned on getting out of here as quickly as he could, and wherever these stairs led at least it wasn’t where they currently were

• got to the lake, pulled himself and @arlette out of the water before just dropping her on land
• used heat wave to dry himself a bit, enough time for anyone else to get in there and dry themselves too
• responded to Ava Rosewood with "we ain't dead"
• asked everyone (including @andromeda because i didn't tag him yet) if they had a pokemon that could lift that lanturn
• wrapped silk around the two water pokemon so it could hold water then got his volcarona to pick up the relicanth and follow him
• kim just kinda walks up the stairs and trys to get tf outta dodge
• volcarona is still providing light for the group

Lying back slightly with his legs still crossed as they floated through the air, he would listen to Arlette as she spoke, in complete agreement to ditch the monk. He seemed fully capable of handling himself after all, he didn’t even wait for them to figure something out together so that showed where he stood with staying together.

As she continued to pose her concerns to him, his attention would remain on her, the words she spoke sparking ponderment. She had a point, they could just be going to face the same fate as those before them if they continue, or get lost in the process. He would remain silent before beginning to speak.

“Wel-”

As soon as he even started mouth the first word, he would be cut off, a sudden unknown force cutting the psychic’s connection, the three of them being sent down to the rushing river below. Recalling the Gothita he would whistle, the sound echoing throughout the cave and sending the Volcarona a signal to dive in an attempt to catch the man. But it wasn’t fast enough, and if it used string shot to try and catch him this would be a real Gwen Stacy situation. Instead, he motion down to the water, then braced for impact as best as he could, the Volcarona diving after him, prompting to float over the rapids.

It was cold, really cold, he hated it so much. But right now, he had to late that hate fuel him into getting out of it. But before that, he needed to spot the other two that had fallen with him, @arlette and @satori , even if he didn’t like the monk, he couldn’t let him drown... if he was down there with them that is. Luckily, a relicanth magically appeared while he was underwater, thanks rngesus.

Usually, he would rather die than get near something as ugly as the relicanth, but right now his wasn’t the only life in danger, so he’d quickly grab onto the coarse skinned pokemon, digging his fingertips tightly into it’s rigid body. And with his secured grip, he would spot another body fall from safety into the rapids for some unknown reason. Kim would give a angry look of confusion as he saw this person only add to the mess, and let out a grunt in anger. He really didn’t want to play hero today.

The volcarona, having caught up to the rapid waters would float overhead, igniting its wings, and lighting the area around Kim up clear as day, waiting for a command to be given in the chaos. Kim would pat the relicanth and point in the direction of the bodies that he had spotted floating, the closest being @arlette.

“Okay, lifesaver, we gotta go get them. Boo, when we get close enough, String Shot us together!” His voice would do its best to raise over the waters, the commands to the two pokemon being followed as quickly as they could be processed. The relicanth moved through the rushing water with ease, getting the man closer to his partner, the volcarona stringing them together with silk as strong as it could muster. All that was left was to find that last idiot that had fallen in too.

Kim would be less than happy to let Satori join them. Honestly, he would have preferred to tell him to find another group to join. But he wasn’t one to disagree with what a friend would say, and Arlette was the closest thing he had to a friend here at the moment; other than his pokemon.

But as they neared a stopping point, it looked like the monk could handle himself pretty well, he had to give him props for being as skilled as he was at trekking the dangerous terrain. Arlette though… he wasn’t sure how she’d fair given their previous history…

He’d go for a pokeball, stopping briefly as his eyes caught the light of another group not so far off, a man and his galvantula paving a webby way for whoever on the group was brave enough to walk it. Kim would feel a little bad if that group up and died on him… only a little though.

“Boo, go reinforce and fill in a path for those webs.”

The Volcarona would nod flinging an ember from its wing onto the ground to create a small source of light as it went to do as it was told, using string shot to make the web a bit safer to cross.

After giving the command, Kim would send out the pokemon who’s pokeball he had gone for, a Gothita.

“Bella, we need to get to the other side of this. Arlette, I’m not giving you a choice on if you want to do this or not.”

Immediately after the sentence, the three would begin to suddenly float, the Gothita using psychic to move them through the air with ease. Kim would cross his legs, relaxing as they proceeded forward at an average pace, their speed increasing slightly as the Volcarona returned to light the way.

Lagging fairly behind, a lavender haired man, would send out a Volcarona. “Boo, light.” He would command, the fire moth cloaking part if itself in a dim flame and creating just enough light to guide the man, nothing more or less.

Sure, it would be helpful for the Volcarona to shine more brightly, and yes, it did in fact have the power to (it isn’t known as a sun incarnate for nothing) but what fun would that be for everyone else? Not much if you asked Kim.

So, as the two walked forward, spotting the pack of what he could only assume to be his coworkers, he would spot a familiar figure moving ahead of them, one that he could almost tolerate.

Walking around the group as the Volcarona flew overhead, Kim would put on a smile as he gave a quick on-off pat of the shoulder to Arlette.

“Hey there Arla, how about we team up if you’re gonna ditch those squares?”

The Volcarona’s flame would burn a bit brighter, attempting to assist where the flashlight couldn’t as well as give a sort of spotlight for the two. Kim has to be the center of attention after all.
