two pokemon walked with the man at each side, a skitty and a tesdiursa. their eyes would look every which way as shadows bounded from each barren tree that lined their path. wind shook their branches to and fro, as an icy chill crept up their backs. autumn was definitely here.

the aesthetics brought along with autumn was something else kim adored. the orange leaves decorating the ground, the fashion to accommodate the weather, and that creepy feeling that came with a certain month. it was all so perfect.

and to make things better, there was apparently something going on at an abandoned mansion, something about a ghost problem? that was just what he needed to get his spooky meter ticked up.

he’d arrive with a giddy expression, looking in the satchel he had brought with him, filled with ghost hunting goodies, waiting for his partner to arrive.

Amber eyes would squint as his smile became that much more bright. Considering their first meeting ended in such a… dramatic way, her cheery demeanor meant the world to him, and for it to seem as genuine as it did, he couldn’t help but chuckle to himself.

“The pleasure is all mine, miss. I was in the area and just happened to see you from afar. Do you mind if tag along with you for a bit?”

How pleasant it was to meet her and not have the first thing said to him being a harsh rejection of his friendship. Honestly, at first glance she seemed a bit prickly, the type that would push him away rather than keep him near, those kinds of people weren’t any fun to be around. But her, she defied expectations, making the shallow smile put on as a people-pleaser into something more, something real.

His arms would slip into jacket pockets, awaiting her answer, hoping to soak up this pleasantness for as long as he could.

Kim just sits there with a dead look in his eyes, a teddiursa sitting in his lap and using his body as an armchair. He onlooks the others around him, questioning to himself why he’s even here, but keeps his mouth sealed to avoid talking to anyone.

He could really use a drink right now.

Sweets were just what he needed right now. He’d been craving something other than the junk his pokemon had been making for him, nothing but healthy junk like fish, the only snack he’s been fed being yogurt, bland yogurt at that. Arlette bringing him a snack was like a godsend.

His fingers would wiggle slightly, pushing outwards, only to recoil, a forlorn smile taking over the features of his face.

Before she came it was almost alien to him that his arms were broken, in fact, he could hardly tell they were. But the sudden realization fell on him once more when he reached for the sweets, only for his arms to not extend.

“Oh well~” He’d whisper cheerily, turning to the teddiursa. “Uaid, can you come feed me one of the parfaits.”
[break][break]
With a nod, the teddiursa would quickly make its way over to the man, yoinking the strawberry sweet off the table as it made its way behind the head of the man, sitting on the back of the couch. Quickly pushing the sweet to the man’s mouth, Kim would take a bite, the teddiursa pulling it back to take a bite of its own with a smile.

With a lick of his lips the cripple would smile as well, looking to Arlette as he spoke.

“Thank you much, Arla, it’s perfect. As for how I’m holding up, I’m not.” A chuckle would escape his curled lips as he continued. “These supports are doing all the work for me.”

The shitty joke would force the Gothita to open her eyes, only to sideeye Kim before getting up off the couch, grabbing the ribboned pastries, and heading to the kitchen, putting the sweets on a platter as she put on tea, chamomile.

The chuckling would cease, a light sight escaping after the fit. “I’m holding up well, I have pain relief meds for when my arms start to hurt. Arla… they make me feel so good. I keep telling Bella to give me more but she won’t, maybe you can convince her for me.”

The Gothita would look over the kitchen counter, shaking her head at Arlette if she even glanced her way.

Brows furrowed as the lavender haired man typed at his phone, his feet pressing against the pavement, the steps taken in a rhythm unnatural. They quickened, slowed, and stomped at random intervals, each step taken adding another word onto the phone’s screen. After sending the wordy text, a response would follow soon after, the expression on the man’s face turning to annoyance, his free hand clenching into a fist at his side before releasing. The unpleased expression would stay rooted to his face as he stepped to the side, typing once again, soon after clipping the phone to his side.

With a sigh he would lean up against the building behind him, his head leaning backwards to rest against the concrete. All this stress wasn’t good for him, and recently that’s all he’s been getting. He needed something, anything, to take his mind off of the bothersome piggybacking of his father.

Looking back down, his eyes caught hold of a familiar face… well, familiar half of a face at least. It was that girl from that one time in that shitty cave way back when. Perfect, just the thing he needed to get his mind off of everything, someone to talk to.

His back would push off the building, and legs moving in her direction, slowing his pace to keep up with hers.

“Hello there.” He’d say with a light smile. “Do you remember me?”

Soft sighs permeate the quiet rooms air, three small pokemon sat beside their trainer. A chubbier teddiursa sat beside him, a gothita on the further end of the couch with her head propped up by her hand who’s elbow rested on the arm rest, and a skitty, curled up in the mans lap, each sleeping peacefully in their place.

Kim, lying back on the middle of the couch would sit quietly in place with his two casted arms at each side propped up, and eyes closed, his breath faint as he meditated.
[break][break]
The calm would abruptly be cut and so would his concentration, a ring of the doorbell alerting him of a guest he had been expecting. He’d go to sit up, only for the teddiursa to stop him with an “urse.” The chubby bear would hop off the couch, moving a chair to the door and opening it, allowing for the guest to enter. It was none other than Arlette.

“Arla, come on in, take a seat.”
[break][break]
He’d give a full body turn on the couch, half of it being propped up by his cast, smiling at the girl.

The house was small but hospitable, its tightly packed quarters mixing Kim’s cute and elegant aesthetic preference with each piece of furniture and decoration seen.

Chuckling as he looked at each arm, he’d nudge Arlette with his hip.

“Hey, check it.”

He’d point at both his arms with his head.

“Guess them's the breaks.”

The chuckling would intensify his back falling against the wall as he slid down it slowly. He was a broken man.

Meanwhile the gothita, out of break from withstanding the attack would onlook her trainer shooting a quick glare at the regirock before going to tend to the man.
