Was she sleep deprived? Why did she come here if she was so tired, she would be no good if she wasn’t in her best state.

Was it fatherly instinct or just pity, he didn't know, but what he did know, is that he needed to give this girl some attention. So, he’d turn on his heel, giving her a wave to follow.

This was so bothersome. His first visit here was less than pleasant, and boring at that, and now he has to come back to help some newbie. Hopefully they wouldn’t be a bother.

Quietly standing around, Kim would check the time, a suck of his teeth following as he thought of anything else he could be doing right now. Relaxing, shopping, getting day drunk, you know, the norm.

It was only when he spotted something out of the corner of his eye that his train of thought was lost.

Extra, probably annoying, too bright. Those were his first thoughts upon seeing her, the person who he could only assume was the newbie.

The mental insults would only increase the closer she got. Looks bitchy, fake too, too much makeup, again, probably annoying.

A light smile would place itself on his face, his thoughts ceasing slightly as she neared.

“Nice to meet you, I assume you’re Cait?”

He’d extend a hand towards her, gesturing for a handshake.

One leg would cross over the other as he leaned further backwards, a slight look of concern shown in his eyes as he looked to her. Silence festered as the room settled, the quiet between them stagnating between the two of them as he thought.

What was he supposed to say to that? He had not a clue. Was that head wound really that serious or was she just hamming it up? He wasn’t too sure in all honesty. But what he was sure of was that she was clueless. That or she was a good actor.

his eagerness would only increase once he entered the mansion, looking around with a smile as the man behind him talked of snacks and ghost hunting equipment. it just so happens that he had brought the same thing. he'd turn to the man, taking out a gadget of seemingly higher quality than the other man's.

"twinsies! i got snacks too, but they're for my pokemon. i don't want to eat anything just to have a ghost make me throw it up."

turning around he'd make his way forward, the pokemon clinging tighter and tighter to the man's clothes. the mansion was creepy alright, but from the looks of it, it wasn't haunted.

at least he wasn't trying to force conversation on him as he did his appearance, and from that, an appreciation is formed.

he'd turn to the teddiursa, it quickly helping a pokemon into the water not too far back and then running to catch up to its trainer who seemed to acquire a very... strange looking companion by his side. he wanted to walk with kim and try to be friendly but the look of the man somewhat scared the cub. instead, the baby bear would waddle over to the kangashan waving up to it with a smile.

kim would look over his shoulder, smiling then quickly turning to his companion who has brought out a doggy bag and began to pick up trash. that wasn't their job, but if he wants to do it who was he to stop him.

His eyes couldn’t help but be drawn to her legs at the jest, a quick glance being enough to realize her words were half true. A light chuckle would hum out, his mouth forming into a coy smile.

“You would know better than me.” The words came out in a calm tone, the other questions answer following soon after in the same pitch.

“I come here to get a break. It's not exactly the calmest place to be, but it’s the only place I can really feel at ease.”

Further explanation was not needed as far as he was concerned, the expression of content on his face after the answers seemed to be more than enough.

“What made you want to move here?”

His eyes would go to wander once more, looking over the shops that he would once have ignored if not for his new partner. He’d have to come back here on his own eventually to check them out more thoroughly. Depending on how this walk-n-talk goes, maybe he’d invite her to join him when that time came.

Blue eyes widened at Arlette’s claim, the gothita quickly looking over to the man and teddiursa, confused at how he would even manage it. The tops were child proof so it was impossible for the teddiursa to properly open them, and the rest of the pokemon were resting… was it when she was taking a nap, did he somehow… She would look over at her trainer, him giving a quick shake of his head to deny it, seemingly knowing the cause of her worrying.

“Did I strike a nerve?” He’d chuckle out. “Or are you embarrassed?” He’d pause, his features growing softer. “How precious~”

Once more, the teddiursa would offer the sweet, Kim taking a bite before whispering to the cub, “The rest is yours.” With a giddy look, the bear would dig into the parfait, its trainer looking to Arlette with a smile.

“What is he to you anyways? If he’s not your boyfriend I recommend kicking him honestly, he seems slow and boys are generally dumb.”

His body would relax a bit, seemingly not a thing changing other than a slight movement.

“If you insist.” He’d chuckle, keeping up with her as they continued forward. Eyes glanced here and there, her introduction sparking a memory of past events and forcing his smile to grow slightly disheveled. It would quickly perk up as he looked to his companion once more.

“Kim. I’m glad I got the opportunity to properly meet with you. I meant to try and talk after we got out of that cave but… you know…”

Once again, his eyes would go to wander the shops lining the streets, none seeming to meet his expectations of suitable pastimes. He’d usually come to lilycove to relax, so the urge to shop was usually eliminated from being here, but right now, something to do was needed, or at least somewhere to relax. He had a home here, but usually taking a girl to your house within seconds of meeting them was a big no.

“What brings you to Lilycove anyways? The beach? Shopping? Just passing through?”

His eyes would return to her, if he couldn’t spot anything interesting along the way at least he could look at her.

Returning to set the platter onto the coffee table, the gothita would give a cheerful “gah~” in agreement. A little torment would do the man good, if they had to care for him hand and foot then the least they could get out of it was a bit of sadism.

Kim’s eyes would squint at the gothita, only for her to squint back. Their gazes would lock on each other in silence for a few seconds before he quickly looked back to arlette with a smile.

“Well… they’d give in to my charm in an instant. I mean, look at this face? No one can resist if i give them the right look.” He’d stop briefly as the teddiursa brought the parfait to his mouth, taking a bite then continuing quick after. “Maybe I’d meet a cutie there too, you never know.”

Having set the other sweets onto the platter, the gothita would place a tea bag into a cup, pouring water into it afterwards and setting it down on a saucer to cool before preparing her own cup. She’d grab one of the pokemon pastries and take a bite, promptly taking a sip of the tea. A delighted look formed on her face a lighthearted sigh following.

Meanwhile, the skitty would awake, stretching its legs before hopping off the man's lap and onto the table, taking a treat, then retreating to the bedroom immediately after.

“But that's enough about me and my what-if history. Last I saw you, you were in the arms of your boyfriend with a bleeding head. How have you been doing?”

A coy smile layed itself on his face as the gothita brought the tea to his mouth, a sip being taken and quickly pulled away as he gave a wince. “Too hot.”

was again his first thought. while he held no ill will towards him, he couldn’t help but judge him based on his appearance.

the two pokemon clung to his legs, scared out of their wits by the already scary looking man and the mouth headed pokemon by his side.

“let's go ghost hunting.”

turning, he’d push the door open, the squeaky hinges sounding throughout the otherwise silent mansion.

he couldn’t hide his giddiness as he stepped in, the skitty and teddiursa botch climbing higher to cling onto his back.

was his first thought upon seeing the stranger. the closer he got the worse his thoughts got.

eyepatch, shit fashion, bad hair, the list only got longer and longer as he hot closer, hoping the man would pass. it was only when he spotted the kangaskhan that was previously tossing pokemon into the water come to stand next to him. the only conclusion made being this was his partner.

when the other man opened his mouth, another check was made on the list of negatives pointed out.

“kim.” would be his only response, sending a small smile his way.
