So long as Adrian was making it easy, he expanded his break.

It was alright to let someone else carry the team for a while, he would be kicking in soon enough after all.

He'd never worked with Strings before, "pspspsps." but he was quite aware his culinary reputation in hoenn preceded him.

The orders were getting filled so for now the meowth wouldn't give him a hard time for lounging about and doing his own thing.

Strings was a cat after all.

If he'd ever seen anything in all of the world that seemed to have walked out of his very subconscious; born from his strictest senses of attraction...

it was Zola Abara.

He'd once found her so alluring that she was best avoided, but seeing her tonight in which was their first official meeting colored her in a new shade.

She wanted to move up in the rangers and things with Cait were more serious than ever.

It was as good a time as any to let go of his raging attraction for his fellow ranger, throwing aside the notion that she was likely spoken for regardless.

As much as Cait might have enjoyed Abara too Sénon just wasn't rich enough to pursue such entanglements with people under his professional leadership.

Getting down the tree he corrected her questioning about Sootopolis.

"Actually I wasn't there." Publicly, the Head Ranger had missed that debacle and his identity as Crimsen was a secret Abara wasn't privy to. "Telling your people to 'shove off' is bad leadership." Good Leadership; he was giving her Free Game.

Okay so, he lost twice in a row. ~~What kinda fuggin witchcraft?!~~

The Head Ranger looked at his own fingers like they betrayed him. For a moment he imagined a better version of himself with nubs instead of hands.

He was going to try to make it a best two of of three but she shut it down pretty quick.

"Fine, I know when I'm beaten." Apparently, it was when he lost, cheated and then lost again. "Go home and get out of this heat, I'll handle the report."

He waved her off before she could object, walking back to the discovery area and making voice notes on his cellular phone.

In a set moment in time, when he was more than a boy but still not enough to be a man, sagira mosse etched a place in his soul; somewhere between sister, friend and lover.

He cared for her so uniquely that he could lovingly send her away, to a greater love and yet couldn't turn his back on her.

He'd let himself think she was somewhere safe and happy in the silence of their communication but it tugged at his heart to see the weariness on her very being didn't match joy he could hear in her voice.

What could you do for someone you loved who seemed to have suffered since your last sight of them?

"You haven't." The least he could do is make her smile.

He'd filled the requisition for a partner for this patrol without checking on whom had submitted it. He would have thought twice about taking it if he had.

He only looked at her long enough to identify then turned away. Best not to let his eyes linger, he'd never be able to look away.

"I told HQ to mark the requisition as filled but I didn't disclose by whom. So, the listing defaulted to 'Cadet'."

He wasn't done yet. They cancelled each other out but he could keep going.
Even if Sirfetch'd ⁽⁾ looked like he wanted to slash at the redhead.

This time Scissors were weapon and he wasn't going to lose twice in a row.

Anyone greedy enough to poach the pokemon keeping everyone cool in a heatwave knew a good deal when they saw one.

A couple of them ran straight away and one picked up as many pokeballs as he could recover...
-until Sirfetch'd ⁽⁾ appeared from one Sénon had thrown. Not looking too happy to be in the heat.

Watching Tallulah tend of the last of the Alolan Exeggutor he approached her with his fist sitting on the palm of his opposite hand.

"Who's doing the paperwork?" He was feeling lucky, so when she was ready; he shot.

Since he was going to kill her with paperwork, what better choice was there than Paper.

You had to be pretty low to try to hock some public service pokémon during the onset of a heatwave.

Public opinion be damned he found it easy to loathe poachers.

True enough he'd spent the better part of his life capturing the pocket monsters of his home region and the greater world at large.

He'd never uprooted an entire population for personal gain; Ditto didn't count, at least not the ones propagating in the pokémon mansion back on Cinnabar.

Plus, he was a kid when he did that.

Still, public opinion aside as a Ranger he wasn't wanting to have anyone arrested.

"All of you have fifty-seven seconds to get on your feet and get the hell out of here." The implications of what would happen if they didn't were obvious, but also entirely left up to them.

"...fifty-two."

"...fifty-one."

All things considered with three experienced rangers on the job it was in all likely hood the bidoof weren't going to show at all.

It was more important that their group simply protect the divers who had to treat the ropes.

Seemingly it would have been smarter to pull the log rafts from the water and treat them on land where the bidoof would be less willing to come after the logs.

Apparently, the solvent they were applying worked best when applied submerged.

With a gesture he sent off Colt and Maher to quickly patrol the west bank and return, while he would look east.

It was nice to know organizing a patrol shift to ensure the successful mating of ledian and ladyba had worked so well for their last mating season that it was now a regulated mission standard.

Despite putting it together, he'd yet actually do the patrol himself until now.

Sénon had enough bug and bird advantaged pokemon in the area that he would actually just take it easy and watch the stars.

It felt like it had been an eternity since he'd just slept under the sky.

He'd come a long way from roadside and rooftop camping.

From his reclined position in a tree, he saw some one walking through the woods.

He took a swig from a bottle of apple juice, to dilute the rum.

He was here late but he was here, good to see Adrian handling things.

With how fast he whipped up the first order while Sénon was getting his apron on.

But now that the order was ready he had time to snack.

Best to get in some lounge time before the last minute surge of orders just before closing.

Crossing one leg over the other from the waiting couch he asked Derek Hoffman, "Where's our fourth?" looking around for Sagira.

He kind of honestly couldn't believe he got looped into this bullshit.

He'd never considered Cait in the vein of being a weakness someone could exploit against him but if he tried to find another excuse for why he was here, he came up with nothing. This wasn't for him, it was for her.

He'd said he wasn't interested in meeting the guy but now that she was pregnant, he couldn't reject her wants and desires without collateral damage.

If she was being even remotely reasonable he was to try to give her what she wanted.

He should have known she was up to something when she was up cleaning at 04:15AM instead of listening to his heartbeat like she normally did.

Her behavior all morning was strange; she made him breakfast, she washed and braided his hair, she let him choose all the positions.

Oh, the manipulations.

So here he was opening the door, inviting in FERNANDO SILPH with his Game-family pokerface, having gone full 'manure salesman'.

"You won't miss it." That evil grin began to spread across his face. The one he made when he knew he'd blown her mind, and surpassed her expectations.
