Mt. Chimney was first on his list of "Views Purest for Hoenn Tourists". Getting off the cable car line after seeing the top of Mt. Chimney the professor made his way down the Jagged Pass. On his back, a pack large enough for the Metamon with little Himeguma on his left flank and Iessan on his right.

He'd only been told hearsay that the path was laden with both Psychic and Fighting species of Pokémon.

With any luck he wouldn't have to disturb or defend himself from any. Although the though chance of encountering a Casey did pique his interests.

Somewhere between keen insight and blind luck, Whys had the appropriate fortune to bring a pokémon with the ability to light their path; a loaner pokémon from a colleague who perhaps had more insight and practical knowledge of what challenges he would face in an excavation beyond what Wuuko himself had.

He couldn't say a Mashade exited at the forefront of impressive species but utilizing its natural ability to ILLUMINATE, their rocky pathway filled with brilliant spores of tiny light.

It did make for a lighting that was almost 'haunting beautiful' and it was quite telling that the woman among them seemed to naturally fit under the same description. She matched his cold indifference of a gaze with what he could only interpret as a daring pyre.

With the other two men moving ahead with a lack of interest in the back and forth happening between himself and herself the Professor moved behind them to the third place, before that pyre engulfed him. "...." As they moved on he suddenly felt a grazing stroke and then a taunting squeeze at his behind.

Alert as he was he turned his head back to see only his purple-topped pokémon and his green-eyed associate.

Neither looked particularly guilty but there was no one else around.

The light from the spores was helpful, maybe even magical to some eyes, but perhaps not bright enough to illuminate the entirety of their space. Maybe something in the dark had grabbed at him, or perhaps it had been his own runaway imagination.

It had been at least a day and half since he last slept, although if memory served hallucinations weren't common for him until after four days.

When the second wall caved Whys moved on the third without waiting to see what spoils they'd wrought.

Someone else could tally up and divide the earnings, now that he was here he simply wanted to explore the depths.

His glance cut to and then away from their most feminine member. If she didn't insist on making herself a distraction it would have been rude and sexist to linger on her as such.

Recalling the Kokoromori back to its resting place an earnest little Dumbber would take its place, the first to serve up a damaging blow on their next targeted area. Once more he guided the attack of his pokemon with precise finger placement before again asking for its help rather ordering it.

"Can you use your ZEN HEADBUTT right here?" Without further convincing the steel-type focused its mind before smashing its head into the area the Professor suggested.

The most outspoken among them broke the ice with a heavy handed crassness that caused Whys to stare at her for a moment.

People who spoke without filters, without concern for tact or consequence always struck him as interesting; worth being studied. It was only after he studied her blankly that the softness of her skin and the challenge in her eyes registered to his mind.

"Wouldn't it be a waste of thought to lament parts of yourself you cannot change?" He stepped closer to the woman as if to engage her in a bit of debate. "Besides, isn't the rhythm between two more important than the size of just one?" He studied her eyes unyielding and unoffensive, or so he intended.

It wasn't his intention to stare into her jaded gaze not unlike a perverted man might have stared at her chest or lips. The meeting or emerald and lavender causing a time lapse in the professor's mind. When he snapped back to he couldn't tell if he was distracting her or if she was distracting him.

"Mr. Manchester..." It sounded like the lead in to ask a question of the other but in actuality it was simply the Kantonian remembering that he knew this man. Their similar hair colors and stations sometimes causing them to be mistaken for one another.

Acting along with the team he returned Iessan to his pokeball and in his place Kokoromori. Checking its wings for damage Whys soon enough would ask it to help himself and others with the excavation by using a well placed ENERGY BALL.

Bobbing about in the waters he'd decided risk vulnerability to get in a good soak, only to find a tiny back-swimmer drifting by.

Mijumaru was such a capable and beloved species that Unova hailed it to be worthy as a perfect water type for beginning trainers. Although he wasn't much a trainer himself, the chance to have one at his side through his endeavors to find a mount and a Casey would be useful to say the least. Unfortunately his pokéballs were left in a jacket on the nearby shore.

On his back he swam in circles not unlike Mijumaru and Futachimaru did. Before long his strange swimming drew in the Sea Otter Pokémon. To pass the time waiting for something appropriate to catch as a mount he would swim around the unevolved water-type, mimicking its aquatic maneuvers in some places and synchronizing them in others.

Likely very and young and highly curious about humans it was wildly amused by his behavior and the way he moved in the water.

Before long his body grew tired and swimming to shore to rest a while he found the Mijumaru was now mimicking him. Lying on his back he ate a snack of grapes off his stomach, sharing some for the little one to do the same. It seemed the two had bonded before Wuuko had realized what he was doing.

As much as he'd needed a mount, he wasn't pressed to fight one today. It was a top priority but certain circumstances always made for a potential exception. "You're a spunky one aren't you?" It didn't know what spunky meant but the Mijumaru smiled when the man spoke to him, very much wanted to stay with the human, impressed with his swimming and strange way of copying movement.

As perturbed as he wanted to be that his on search for a Casey had to be put on hold, he couldn't deny it was for a worthy alternative.

It seemed the time he had for research was becoming dependent on his ability to get out of the lab.

The more time he spent in the field, the more freely he could move.

In order to actualize his free movement however, he would need a more, personalized method of transportation. Whether by land air or sea, wise as he was, it was painfully apparent he was in need of a pokémon to be his mount. Undecided on what he was looking for specifically, he resolved he would know it when he saw it. "..."

Rocket was scraping the bottom of the barrel when they sent a hard request for him to participate in this field excavation. Try as he might to be left alone in his lab, if he took up enough resources and yielded so few results they would send their little requests to put him into the field. It was simply to reach for a monopoly on the assets to be discovered.

Logistically, it was better that Rocket agents come into finding something worthwhile than League officers. So here he was, in spite of his own machinations.

He was the last of the four to reach the starting level, his faithful entourage in tow. The three metamon he couldn't trust to be left behind in the lab, nor could he put them away with their pokéballs in malfunction. Luckily, in their endless waltz of bickering they didn't take much space forming a tight blob tumbling over itself; two parts indigo and one part shiny neon blue.
Following himself directly was (

) Iessan, chaste and genteel, ready to assist in whatever way possible.

Adjusting the modulation on his regulator he checked the wall his contemporaries had already begun to work on. With large fractures it seemed weak enough that the four of them might have been able to simply push it down. One more subtle attack would suffice to bring it down.

Kneeling down to the Iessan Whys spoke to him like asking a favor from an equal. "Can you use your disarming voice..." he even touched the wall in a place that looked most fragile. "-right along here?"

As the wall caved he would turn to look to the three who had been waiting on him. "Good Evening." It was dry, and it wasn't an apology, but it was better than nothing, right?

He walked the path to find whatever he might, keeping his mind open and alert.

It wasn't long before he noticed the sniffling and cries of a small pokémon. "A Himeguma." He approached it with caution if it had parents in the area the last thing he wanted was to be stumbled upon getting too close to a Ringuma's cub.

He waited in the brush until its cries became too unnerving to ignore.

It was smaller than he expected and covered in wounds. It's brown fur stuck to itself in places with blood. There was gash on its head and it was trembling. It seemed terrified at the sight of him but too worn down or too torn up to run away.

Getting down to a crouch, "Would you like to come with me?" he offered his hand to the cub only for it to bear its claws ready to fight him off despite its cries. Behind his back he held up three fingers and the three Metamon transformed into three Himeguma each shyly hiding behind his legs.

At the sight of the other pokémon that looked just like it the 'Little Bear Pokémon' retracted its claws and when he reached out a second time to offer his hand the little one took it by the paw, its cries growing louder as it allowed the professor to pick it up and hold it close.

Finally able to drop its guard it began to REST healing from its mysterious wounds.

It felt like he'd been wandering for hours before the next viable species presented itself but he knew both practically and scientifically; time was a relative concept.

He'd long since developed the ability to drown out the bickering of the triplets but when a flying rodent pokémon beat its wings traveling by, even the three of them stopped to look at it.

Of course, he continued his mental identification game and his pokémon was no unknown entity. "Psychic-type National 'dex' number five-hundred and twenty eight. The Courting Pokémon."

With a snap of his fingers and a pointing at the flyer-by the Metamon were instructed to TRANSFORM and attack. A flurry of AIR CUTTER and PSYCHIC blasts beat on the lone wild one until its body was too heavy for its tired wings to carry it.

There was no subtle tact in the way he went about capturing these pokémon in his search for a Casey but there was no deny it was beyond effective.

Kneeling down he'd activate the capture mechanism on the spare pokéball manually, pointing the red beam at the beaten creature and dropping the ball for safety. "Kokoromori." he said barely above a whisper as he watched the pokéball wobble.
