Every time she leans over, hair falls in front of her face. It prompts her to peek under things and behind furniture with one hand holding her hair back across one shoulder. It is enough at the moment to distract her, and for that she is thankful.[break][break]

But then Remiel speaks again and this time his admittance drives a knife between her shoulder blades.[break][break]

"Isra?"[break][break]

She breathes it as barely more than a whisper, a hushed sound that the man may not have even heard. The pieces fall into place suddenly as she glances over her shoulder to watch him direct her away. He is distracted in looking for his Pokemon, but she is rattled now to her core.[break][break]

It had been some time since she'd last heard from the woman, but she was, indeed, familiar. She had been mysterious and breathtaking, and it was no wonder Remiel was so distant. Stormy bites her lip from inquiring, thinking better of it. Guilt trickles down her spine at their shared kiss, like she had done something forbidden. [break][break]

He wasn't hers, he belonged to someone else.[break][break]

"Sure. I'm sure he hasn't gone far and is just punishing us for our tardiness."[break][break]

Her tone, her acknowledgement, does not go unnoticed. Sometimes he feels like he can hear those syllables being uttered from miles away, manifesting themselves as a shiver down his spine or goosebumps on his flesh. Remiel knew what it felt like to be haunted. He'd been haunted since that fateful night in the Pokémon den, over half a decade ago. But this was something new— something deeper.[break][break]

Quite frankly, it scared him.

Like a creature caught in a thick grove of thorny brambles, the more he tried to resist or escape it, the more it hurt. Stormy's kiss, as guilty as it had made him feel, had provided him some respite from the pain. But it wasn't right to put this on her, or to lead her along for his own selfish benefit. Especially when she was mourning the death of her own loved one.[break][break]

They move towards the living room, but the royal stops just between the door jamb, taking a moment to suck in a deep breath. With his back turned to Stormy, he turns slightly over his shoulder with a single, solemn eye. "You knew her... didn't you?"

She isn't sure why she feels such dread. She doesn't know why, at the mention of his lover's name, she feels a sense of guilt worse in some way than the guilt she felt for wanting to move on from Alexander.[break][break]

But she did, and that cold finger traced along her spine is chilling.[break][break]

"We were friends, I think. She worked for Fernando for a little while."[break][break]

And, rather than dwell on the topic of her, and perhaps out of awkward guilt of him opening up like that and her not reciprocating, she sighs.[break][break]

"He- Alexander- was heavily involved in Devon after his father died. He loved me, I know, but I asked for too much, expected more. At some point, I realized how very different we were and how impossible it was for us to come together. He wasn't ready, I'm not sure he was ever going to be ready."[break][break]

She's oversharing, but the words keep tumbling out. It is the reasoning and the pain that she'd been bottling up, confronting the conflict she'd been struggling to come to terms with.[break][break]

"But now he's gone, so I'll never know."[break][break]

Stormy catches Remiel's eye as he casts a glance at her over her shoulder. She holds is gaze, unsure what more to say, worried she'd said too much. After all, what did it matter? He cared, maybe, but how much? What was she hoping to gain by telling him all of this? What was she hoping he would say, hoping he would do?[break][break]

Tears bead before slipping, trailing down her cheek silently, too quick that she can't catch them before they fall.[break][break]

Talking about her again, even in such a brief capacity, stung more than he had expected. He knew she'd been Fernando's secretary for some time. The information gathered as a result was something that had been revealed to him as admin. But talking about it now seemed so... insignificant.[break][break]

The downtrodden prince was, instead, left wanting for the personal details of her friendship with Stormy, but was far too reluctant to push further and feel that pang of hurt again. The fact that Stormy quickly continued, and uttered a name he hadn't expected to hear, made it even easier to move on. Though his aching was replaced with a dulling sense of guilt that washed over him.[break][break]

He'd battled Alexander before.[break][break]

He seemed like a good man.

He loosens his shoulders, shedding the tension that had unintentionally gathered there, as she recalls the nature of her relationship with the man. The tone in her voice is something he's grown uncomfortably familiar with. In that moment, the royal slowly begins to realize that she might truly understand his plight, more so than anyone in his life so far. Her words weren't just facile, shallow remarks she made to show sympathy.[break][break]

Assuming as much, he knew, was a bad symptom of growing up in the aristocracy. He really should have known better.[break][break]

Silently looking at her, Remiel thinks about everything she's been through, everything she's yet to reveal beneath the surface of her strong, beautiful exterior. Then the chandelier's light traps itself in the boundaries of a tear forming at the corner of her warmly-coloured eye, and his body turns to face her before he really realizes it. After stepping out from the door jamb, the prince captures her in a warm, gentle embrace.[break][break]

And, without a word, he keeps her in it with a reassuring squeeze, for as long as she'd like.[break]

A tear slips down her cheek, but before she can catch it or whisk it away, warm arms wrap around her. Stormy sucks in a trembling breath, grief hitching in her throat as he crushes her against him. But the action isn't uncomfortable, in fact, she realizes it is one she craves. Her chin rests against his shoulder, and her hands slowly raise to hug him in return. [break][break]

He quiets her tears, her fears, wordlessly, simply by being there. She is selfish, she knows, for indulging. But he knew her better than anyone all in the span of a few seconds. She had been able to unburden, to shed that grief off of her shoulders if only for a moment because he understood, and didn't think any less of her for it.[break][break]

So she acts on instinct, on a desperate need to feel. Slowly, cautiously, Stormy's right hand brushes his shoulder, traveling to caress his cheek. Her directions are gentle, guiding rather than commanding. If he chose to follow, she would only continue, inviting him closer.[break][break]

"I--"[break][break]

She pauses just before leaning in to kiss him, giving him the opportunity to pull away.[break][break]

It seems inevitable, really. Though he fails to realize it until the very moment her fingers glide across his slightly flushed cheek. Her action is slow and deliberate, and the royal reads it with mystified cobalt eyes. It can't be wrong to seek such comforts in each other, he argues in his thoughts. Not when the two of them share such a profound connection. Not after this cruel world has scarred them so.[break][break]

She utters a word, but he closes the distance and kisses her before she can utter another. He doesn't care to hear it. All he needed to hear had poured out from her sad, beautiful eyes; translated itself through her delicate touch. In fact, talking had served them well enough tonight. Damn the guilt. Damn the pain. Damn the inane and silently practiced idea that what they felt for each other should be buried, and remain unspoken.[break][break]

Instead, she could find understanding in the way he hungrily sought kiss after kiss, their tongues captured in a dance as the fervor of their physical reunion gently pushed her against a painting depicting Helen of Troy on the wall. Cupping her chin with one hand, and pinning the other just above her right shoulder, the prince doesn't even bother to wipe her tears away as he loses himself in their flurry of unbridled desire.[break][break]

Eventually, one these tears finds itself on her lips, and he kisses it away anyway, unbothered by the momentary pang of saline. It's a far cry from the sweet, momentary peck they'd experienced in the kitchen.[break][break]

Passion, a distraction, a taste of what could be. His skin burns beneath her touch, or perhaps that is just her influence being mistaken as his own. He captures her mid-thought, though she hadn't really been sure what to say. [break][break]

Her body responds instinctively, pulling him close instead of pushing him away. The way they fit together was magnetic, hunger an emotion strong enough to overcome pain or grief. Quiet sighs escape with every pause, and she allows him to take control, positioning to accept him again and again and again. It is a dance, and one that, while unfamiliar to her with him as her partner, came naturally, came easily. [break][break]

Something that, perhaps, she had practiced before in her head.[break][break]

Stormy's shoulders press against a painting, and for fear she might ruin it, she pushes back against him. That attempt is cut short as he closes the distance, pinning her between himself and the portrait. His fingers cup her chin, moving with ease and agility to keep her trained on him. [break][break]

Her hands wander, one slipping beneath his shirt to find skin. The woman's touch would burn, but it would not be unpleasant. [break][break]

Her touch can't hope to sear as badly as the grief and agony he'd been carrying around for months. Though it certainly cuts through his defenses like butter, shedding any last second objections to the blurry line between lover and close friend. He may wince and groan as a result, and she may feel it against the surface of his kiss as she reels him in. But one thing remains clear: Remiel Calcifet is determined to lose himself in her; finally.[break][break]

So a little burn here and there is easily ignored.

They crash together in perfect harmony, pushing back against each other with ravenous physical affection shortly thereafter. Every move he makes seems to be with the intention to leave her breathless, and he's extremely pleased to find her so naturally receptive to it all. Even when deep, sensual kisses become an exploration, trailing against the edge of her porcelain face until they dip into the cascade of her exposed neck.[break][break]

The tip of his front teeth find themselves nibbling that swan-like neck every now and again, his hunger for her steadily daring to manifest itself in new and interesting ways. If he should feel the sting of pain while he engaged her, and revel in it, then she, too, should have a taste. The thought emerges as a low growl in his throat as he loses himself in the forest of her long black hair.[break][break]

Then he feels it: her hand, snaking its way beneath his shirt and placing itself against firm ab muscle; hot. His steamy breath may tickle her neck when he gasps, and he pulls himself out from that forest of black hair just long enough to reach down and take that troublesome shirt off. One hand roots itself there for balance, while the other slides across the length of her right thigh, gripping it after a gentle caress. The kiss he sends rushing back to her lips suddenly stops, however, as he pauses to gently touch his forehead against her own. Eyes closed, and his breathing in sync with her own, he softly asks: "My heartbeat... can you feel it?"[break][break]

The inquiry is made seriously... if not a bit solemnly. Even he knows his heartbeat is fluttering. But he wants to hear her acknowledge it anyway. If only to prove that it is actually still there.[break]

His groans, his gasps, his exhales of pain are almost indecipherable from that of pleasure. She is spurred by his reactions, by the hunger in which he devours her whole. He is unrelenting, feverish, pressing into her as though it might be the last time. [break][break]

Warmth and touch become blurry, a wash of electrified skin against skin. His lips, his teeth, his breath explore the length of her neck, tasting. Temptation leaves her dazed and crazed. Stormy sighs, a soft exhale his encouragement for all of his attention. The woman tilts her cheek to let him in, a satisfied smile replacing that grief. [break][break]

It trickles in, blurring her ability to see reason. It quickly becomes unclear whether this hunger is a side effect of her grief, or a testament to yet unspoken feelings for the man.[break][break]

And she gasps in tandem with him, a desperate plea, as her fingers brush a sculpted figure. Remiel is quick to remove that first barrier and she cannot help but admire, captivated by his beauty, by his scars, by him.[break][break]

The image lingers only for a second, however, before she is quickly captured again, and again, and again.[break][break]

She is trapped, but she does not feel the need to resist. Ruby eyes gaze up at him, warm, affectionate. Lips part at his touch, and she is acutely, painfully aware of how close he is, and how tantalizing he was. His hand slides up her thigh, squeezing. She bites her lip in anticipation, and her heart thumps as he leans in again for another kiss-- [break][break]

Only for him to stop and press his forehead against hers. His eyes are closed, and so she closes hers as well, allowing her hand to slide up to rest over his heart. She waits, but there is no need. She can feel it clear as day, jumping against her fingertips. With a quiet hum, she smiles.[break][break]

"I can feel it. Can you feel mine?"[break][break]

It was an invitation, one that she slowly opens her eyes to watch for his response.[break][break]

Slowly, his right hand slides up the length of her now bare waist as the sound of their affections persists. Before long it finds itself snaking upwards across her tummy, stopping just between her chest, until his palm presses itself gently against her heartbeat.[break][break]

Although his advances never slow, it isn't enough. With every pause, every break in thought, every exhale of breath, Stormy draws him back in. She hungers, desperate to lose herself in him. But he is less of a distraction and more of a need. The more she takes, the more she realizes how long she's craved his touch.[break][break]

Her hands skate across bare skin, committing to memory every piece to the puzzle she was only just beginning to solve. They come to a stop, however, when they both take a breath. Remiel's eyes open to meet hers and she leans her head back, dark hair bunching as she leans against the painting. There is a lofty, relaxed smile on her face while they study each other.[break][break]

And there is a moment in which he pulls away from her entirely. It prompts a soft exhale, anticipation igniting beneath her skin. It waits, anxious, until the moment he returns. They crash together, unable to slow for longer than a breath. His fingers push and pull, tugging her shirt up and above her. It gets caught on her elbows but it doesn't matter because he had no intention of waiting any longer anyway.[break][break]

She moans, muffled beneath his kisses, pinned between him and the wall. Stormy doesn't fight it, rather, her fingers tug at his belt loops and buttons, impatient.[break][break]

Once again, her hands still as he does. Her heartbeat jumps beneath his touch, and the path he had burned across her skin on the way there leaves her dizzy and wanting more. Stormy holds her breath, focusing on the adrenaline, on the temptation, on the fact that he is absolutely, completely focused on her. [break][break]

"And what.. might that.. be...?"[break][break]

He peppers her with kisses, and her hand seeks out his free one with the intent to lace her fingers through his. Stormy squeezes, nails biting into the back of his hand. Tentatively, she lets her teeth graze his bottom lip, eyes blinking from closed to half-lidded, measuring his reaction.[break][break]

Stormy manages to wriggle free of her shirt, and he does her the courtesy of flinging it across the room without so much as a look before he continues his ravenous affections. Soft moans and pleased hums vibrate against newly exposed flesh. Then the snap of a pant button and the hiss of a belt being undone serve to stoke the flame even further and match the royal's impatience with her own.[break][break]

Using the hand placed over her heart, the prince pushes her against the wall. Then, in an instant, begins to return the favor as his body presses close against the heat of her own. "That's what I intend to find out," He whispers against her kisses, zipping her free with one swift tug before helping the belle shimmy her hips out from the grasp of the winter clothing. The sight of her then is enough to drive him red.[break][break]

The painting, once pinned between the wall and her back, now collapses onto the ground with a clamor after Remiel's immediately pulled her away. But he couldn't care less. Even a vase is whacked away and shattered after he places her onto the round, wooden pedestal where it was once stationed. Miniscule sparks fly from his skin as he seizes the side of her leg, keeping it wrapped around his waist as he whispers against her ear with a devilish grin.[break][break]

He is rough, she is rougher. His breath his hot, but hers is hotter. Clothing is flung, buttons undone, belts tumble to the side to rock back and forth. They crash, they plead, they tease, they groan. His fingers press to her chest and then pull her back. He whispers against her lips, his promise bringing to her lips a confident, eager grin.[break][break]

And then she is pulled from the painting, left panting, glancing over her shoulder in surprise as a vase is batted off a small table. She is pushed against it and he is atop her again, relentless. Static, painful electricity sparks up her calf as he grabs hold of her. She misses it, too engrossed in him, though the sensation leaves her more breathless.[break][break]

"A while."[break][break]

Once more, a sly, confident smile leaves her coy as she curls her finger for him to come in close.[break][break]
