It soon became startlingly clear that Captain Skyler Dross was as at ease in these darkened underwater halls as she was in her own ship. The initial downward tilt of the cavern, diving into inky depths, didn't seem to cause her any worry, and she didn't hesitate before kicking her feet and disappearing into the darkness ahead.

A Lanturn soon swam ahead of them, the bulbous light attached to his head causing stark, long shadows to flicker strangely around them. Several times, Skyler had to pause to pry at strange angular rocks - slabs that hinted at previous human presence. Huh.

Eagerness prompted the captain to rush ahead, only looking back once in a while to make sure Noelani hadn't gone and done something stupid, like getting himself killed. These places were rife with dangers, and Skyler would've felt guilty for dragging the man into this place - but he'd come willingly. He'd probably be fine, at any rate, as long as he kept his hands away from any treasure they might find. 

Otherwise he'd have to go through her. And through the speargun attached to her back.

Skyler blinked up at a strange flicker of light, surprise shooting through her when she realized there was a pocket of air ahead. Were they above the surface of the ocean? Perhaps.

Signalling to her companion, Skyler kicked her feet to break through the surface, removing her breathing device and googles. She turned her head, eyes sharp, peering at what little she could see of the chamber around them.

Skyler probably should have been more worried about the battle taking place on the small stretch of dry land. The hulking shape of an Aggron caught her attention for a sliver of time - but then her gaze shifted away, Noelani showing himself more than capable of dealing with the steel type.

Ripples in the water alerted her to the presence of other wild pokemon, but the captain ignored them in favor of getting to her feet and returning Lanturn to its pokeball. It was replaced by a floating Minior, its shell crumbling to reveal a swirling indigo energy that cast strange shadows over the nearby rocks. 

A calloused hand shot out to catch the rusted piece of metal thrown her way, the motion almost automatic. Skyler's lopsided grin dimmed slightly, replaced by a greedy flare of interest that gleamed over silver eyes. There were engravings in the metal. "This looks old... Either the tide brought this in or- we might be in for a treat." 

And just like that the lure of treasure hooked its claws into Skyler. Pulse jumping into a frenzied rhythm, pupils dilating just slightly. Her wide steps abruptly took her past Noelani to peer at the tunnel the Aggron had left behind. "Seems a waste not to explore this. We can always turn back around if we reach a dead end. Murzim, ahead."

The Minior floated past, quickly followed by Skyler. The drip-drop of salt water followed their movements as they headed deeper into the tunnel, which quickly started to descend, treacherously steep. 

A distant shimmer was Captain Dross' only warning before the sound of rushing water reached her ears, quickly rising in volume.

Too quickly.

It was instinct more than anything else that had her grab Noelani's collar and shove him onto a rocky platform, quickly following after - just before a rush of ocean water filled the bottom part of the tunnel where they'd been standing.
