A faint laugher came from him as he pulled another bottle from his bag. This time, however, it was water.[break][break]

He would've preferred taking some vodka or rhum, to continue their fun, but he hadn't brought these bottles with him. It's not like he had expected to meet someone from a long time ago too, and he had brought only two beers to drink as he kept watch over the area for the seed to provide results.[break][break]

To remain neutral was just as great an evil. To be able to watch such tragedy, and take a backseat, offering resources to the highest bidder… was it even worse to stand for absolutely nothing at all?

They had been lawless chaos and greed, and each night, she’d danced on graves unseen. He hadn’t known the other half of it.

“No; not doing any of that anymore.”

Looking back over at him, she found it a relief to be able to at least tell him one interesting truth beside lie. “Engineering, mostly. I just finished work on the generator for Infinity Industries. I’m taking a break at the moment.” Lulu took another sip of the bottle, not having quite finished hers yet. Beer wasn’t really her flavor.

So she became a workaholic huh... "Infinity industries. They're recent in the region, aren't they? It's really nice that you work with them though." And she was now on a break as she had finished her project. So relaxing should be a priority right?[break][break]

The man had a small idea. He proceeded to search his bag, before pulling out a bluetooth speaker. He then took out his Smartphone, proceeding to play around with some settings. Suddenly, the speaker came to life, playing some music. Music that the lady would be familiar with, as it was the same kind that they used to dance on at the bar.[break][break]

An hand extended before her, the Alolan smiled. "Would you grant me the honor of this dance?" The man winked at her before doing a small laugh. "It's clearly not the best setting, but I think it could be nice for you to forget about work and do something different."

“Yeah, they’re new.”

Relaxing should have been a priority at the time, considering shit was about to hit the fan.

For now, though, they were there sharing beer on a rock on the mountain, reminiscing. Simple, seemingly.

As he prepared the music, she quickly began to put together what he was up to. She began to lean back, almost as though to deny him before a song was even played. And then, what came on was familiar. It took her back years, suddenly rewinding so many things that something in her choked, stunned.

When his hand reached out towards her, she stared up at his smile almost blankly. Was this actually happening, or was it a dream? Maybe she’d been asleep all along…

“Okay.”

Her fingers found his, and her own smile was only summoned at his wink, and the sound of his joy over the music. So strange, now. Perhaps this was a little what time-traveling might feel like. The world, as it had been, unaffected by her decisions.

She lifted off the rock, stepping towards the ground to follow him.

The Alolan smiled as she took his hand and accepted the dance. Leading her, he gently brought them to an empty area void of tombstones and such, where they wouldn't fall whilst they danced. Once they reached the location, the man took position, being mindful of where he would place his hands, so as not to cause her discomfort like earlier.[break][break]

Thus, he began to dance, following the rhythm of the music and matching her movement so as to not go too quickly or ruin the moment. Also not to step on her toes. That would hurt. Still, the man could help but be lost in her smile. A smile he hadn't seen for years, that seemed devoid of worries as she was falling back into the good times they had in the past. Maybe it was best to not say anything and keep this moment going. Thus, silently, he continued the dance, his eyes looking at her face gently.

Here she was, dancing with her opposite. Light and dark; sun and shadow.

It wasn’t lost on her.

She moved with some hesitance at first, but she was soon fluid and moving with him like they’d used to—back when they’d been less volatilely powerful, and more normal; more like each other.

But maybe now, they were even more like each other than they’d ever been. It was all just a matter of how one looked at it.

She twirled in close, without the earlier discomfort that she’d shown before. It was more like the past. Dance was meant to be intimate.

“Haven’t lost your step,” she commented up at him with a grin.
