the reason for his existence.

[break][break] jayden looked upon the ambassador with a look of consideration, brought back to his own memories. when he'd been younger, he had once wondered what it was — what the meaning of all of it was. he had thought about it, collaborated with the likes of Razz Kingsman and Asriel Pryde, if there was a greater meaning to life.

[break][break] but he doesn't say any of that. instead, he merely says, "i suppose."

[break][break] he looked upon the magnificent beast that roared in the light of battle, the one who had easily thrown his two powerful pokemon back. marena rebutted with an angry snarl, releasing an AURA SPHERE that lashed through the air. kozmo followed and used a DYNAMIC PUNCH against the earth, ripping off a large piece of it before chucking it at the mechanical beast.

Zekrom sinks its wide wing-like appendages into the earth below as the two Pokémon facing it dive in with their attacks. After gripping the earth below with its claws, it roars before scooping out a great chunk of it and casting it into the sky. The ROCK SLIDE that follows acts as a defensive barrier while its tail continues to generate power.

Remiel, in the meantime, raises a brow as he shifts his gaze back to his companion. "You would entrust Rocket with defining what 'winning' means to you?" He inquires. "We all have our own wants and needs, Jayden. Even I, an Admin, must admit that I have my own reasons for contributing what I do to this organization."

the ROCK SLIDE rips through the earth, striking true on both pokemon as they are barreled backwards.

[break][break] "work together! marena, stay back. kozma, attack!"

[break][break] there was no point in trying to get up close, knowing the strength of the legendary beast. to be perfectly frank, jayden didn't expect either of them to win the battle. it was moreso a test of courage for kozma and a test of endurance for marena. she'd run herself ragged running circles around all his other pokemon. how would she fare against a beast who refused to let her?

[break][break] the zeraora's grin was wild as she jumped back to her feet. exhaustion tore at her features, but she was still unwilling to give up. once again, a ball of AURA SPHERE gathered between her hand before she tossed it frighteningly fast towards the legendary. meanwhile, kozma darted forward alongside the sphere and then leaped into the air. in a flash, he descended with AERIAL ACE.

[break][break] jayden shook his head.

[break][break] "naturally, but rocket comes first. it is through their success that we all succeed."

Remiel casts Jayden a sidelong glance.

Despite his kinship with the man, the lack of independent thought he seemingly had in regard to TEAM ROCKET stood against one of the royal's unwavering tenets. After all, it was one thing to think and hope for the best from an organization. It was another to blind yourself from its faults with a cult-like devotion and a deep-seated feeling of debt.

Meanwhile, the battle continues.

With its turbine roaring at full blast, ZEKROM unleashes a ferocious roar as the opposing pair cast their attacks in unison. This battle cry, simultaneously, summons an otherworldly orb of crackling green plasma that blasts both of Jayden's Pokémon (and their attacks) backward. The shocking scene demands the attention of the two Admins nearby.

Just after ZEKROM steps forward to presumably end the battle once and for all, however, something surprising happens. Halfway through its pivot, where it intended to slam its large tail into the pair of Pokémon (BREAKING SWIPE), the Angra Mainyu falters and stumbles to the side. It is forced to try and balance itself once more with a flap of its wings.

However, the sight of its pulsing green veins leads Remiel to realize that ZEKROM has overexerted itself. But this was no accidental stumble or ordinary overexertion... whatever ran through its veins seemed to be affecting the Black Yin on a deeper level than he thought. It was an affliction.

"Interesting..." The royal mutters under his breath, receiving a weary look from the dark dragon when it senses his staring. "You don't mind if we call it there for today, do you Jayden?" Remiel continues, turning to face his compatriot once more. "This training session has been rather enlightening. Let's do it again soon."

eventually, his pokemon fall to the ferocious cry of the beast that they're battling. it's no surprise to jayden. after all, zekrom was a legendary.

[break][break] he is more surprised by the abrupt ending of their rendez-vous.

[break][break] he steps back with a nod towards the other.

[break][break] "see you soon."

[break][break] little did he know — the next time he saw him would be on the opposite side of the battlefield.
