Temp groaned and sat on a gravestone, pulling out a pack of jerky from his pocket.[break][break]

"You have any luck over there?" He called to jayden cross.[break][break]

Idly, he shook the bag open and held it open for the other to take a piece if he wanted. Sharp teeth dug into a hunk of meat and chewed thoughtfully. They had been at this for a while with no luck. Whatever was happening with the Border was disrupting the pokemon up here. Other than a few weak and stray ghosts, they'd found very little that was noteworthy.[break][break]

A Glaceon strode up to his side, darker in color with a sinister aura. He flicked his long ears back and stared at the other human as if he would rather have him that a piece of jerky.[break][break]

"Unown might have fled if it's this messed up here."

[break][break] With the rifts opening up, and the sudden influx of psychic pokemon into the mountainside, there has been more issues than normal. While Jayden didn't normally concern himself with wild life -- that felt more like the work of rangers like annalise henderson -- he was concerned of the impact of the rifts, and how the local ghost population was influenced.

[break][break] "Perhaps," he says contemplatively, only then catching the eye of Temp's Glaceon. He offers it a piece of the jerkey.

[break][break] Hopefully it wouldn't bite his finger off.

Temp gives a sharp whistle.[break][break]

The Glaceon hesitates before snatching the jerky from Jayden and darting back over to Temp's side. It partly hides behind his legs, eyes still locked onto the other man.[break][break]

Satisfied his pokemon hadn't tried to maim the other, Temp stands up and groans. A stretch, arm above his head and all. Grass shuffles from his left. Temp glances over to spot a flash of pink and blue retreating; perhaps it was scared away by the absolutely rancid vibes the man had.[break][break]

Temp gave it no mind. He was here for one quarry and one quarry alone.[break][break]

Behind the two of them, a stream of dark ice flared up. It chilled the air around them, the Shadow Chill working on a small pile of sand. The pokemon, a Sandyghast it was revealed to be, froze almost solid. Temp perked up and tossed a Dive Ball at it. No need to let a good pokemon go to waste. Icecube, the Glaceon, was bristled up until the ball clicked closed, then picked it up in his mouth and bounded back to his Trainer.[break][break]

"I know you're my bro. You're, like, kind of sad. Got a good heart and a strong spirit, I think. Also you're a fucking badass." Temp winks at jayden cross, giving him a toothy grin.[break][break]

It's so clearly and with such confidence. So soon, too. As if Temp didn't need to put any thought into it at all.[break][break]

And it was true. Temp's recent argument with Cillian Quinn had sliced truths from the inside of his chest. While Temp did not directly seek death he did not fear it. There was a certain nagging part of him that thought the best thing he could do for everyone he loved would be to die.[break][break]

Not of his own hand, that would be wasteful. But if he was snarling and clawing and spitting as he kept someone else from death? Or even if it was just to further an important goal? Well, his sacrifice would not be in vain.[break][break]
