Thomas raced back towards the portal back to home. Not only was he injured after the loss of his Luxray, but he had a badly injured Pokemon that resembled a Salamence on his person. Despite the shape he was in, he hopped as far as he could in order to reach the exit out of the strange area. His goal was a League medic to heal the strange Pokemon.

Not to mention, get the strange scales on his arms looked at. The longer he stayed in this freaky place, the more they seemed to be forming on his arm. Almost like he was going to become a merman.

Unfortunately, someone would get in his way.

Temp isn't intending to be in the way. But war was rarely kind. While Thomas rushed for a place to heal his injured pokemon, Temp was busy searching radio waves for any signals about his husband. Cillian Quinn should have been reporting in about now if everything had went smoothly.[break][break]

It is just bad luck on both their parts they run into each other.[break][break]

Temp also isn't one, now, to give any leeway. When the other man crosses his path and Temp doesn't recognize him, he snarls and tosses out a pokeball.[break][break]

A Glaceon, dark and strange, shakes himself off. A low whistle and shards of ice fly at the other, aiming to slice his throat. Temp didn't take prisoners.

As he spotted the other man, Thomas immediately reached for a Pokeball, deploying the first Pokemon he could get his hand on. That Pokemon happened to be a Venomoth he had on his person.

The Venomoth got in front of the Ice Shard, crying out in pain as the shard slammed into her body. Despite this, she was still proverbially standing, and managed to loose a Bug Buzz towards the Glaceon.

"Out of my way!", Thomas snarled, reaching for another Pokeball.

"Go fuck yourself!" Temp was quick to bark back. The Bug Buzz slammed into the Glaceon. The ice type shook himself lightly; weakened from previous battles but still barely going. It was only thanks to previous and multiple Jungle Healing from Temp's Zarude that either of them were still standing.[break][break]

Thomas Benoit 's hand went for a pokeball and so did Temp's.[break][break]

Temp narrowed his eyes at the other, flicked up and down his body, his pokemon. Mentally, he assessed what he had to do. Where he needed to be. How healed up his team was after all the battles.[break][break]

Tense and ready to spring.[break][break]

A low whistle saw the Glaceon shooting out a Swift.

"Your funeral, pal!", Thomas growled at him.

The Venomoth shielded her master from the Swift barrage coming her way. All she could do was cry out in pain as the stars of energy struck her body. Despite this, she persisted, performing a Quiver Dance in order to raise her spirits, and strengthen herself for what was to come.

Thomas tossed a Pokeball towards Temp's feet, while attempting to stay on the move, in anticipation for whatever Temp would deploy.

Mordred the Ceruledge emerged from his Pokeball, coming at the human with Bitter Blades burning with hatred.

The fact that the former Elite Four's Pokemon was so willing to kill, without hesitation, should've been a sign to the Rocket.

The pokeball leaves Temp's hand with a soft "fuck" muttered under his breath. He leans back.[break][break]

The CLINK and gritty slide of a Aerial Ace against the Bitter Blade of the other pokemon. The Kabutops held the strange pokemon off (Temp had never seen it before, so it was strange to him) with her blades. [break][break]

This was so the two of them could have one of those sick ass anime sword clash moments.[break][break]

The Glaceon was less willing to pull punches. His odd color would suddenly make sense to Thomas Benoit. An eruption of black ice was expelled from the pokemon, sharp and sickly as it surges at the Venomoth. The Shadow Frost was deadly and ready to kill.

The armored ghost's blades clashed against the fossilized blades of the Kabutops with a frustrated grunt. As their blades locked, the Ceruledge gazed intently into the eyes of the fossil. Mordred's flaming eyes were filled with bitterness and rage, before he'd break the lock, leaping back, before charging his blades with solar energy, and lunging for the Kabutops.

Meanwhile, the Glaceon showed its true colors, unleashing the terrifying power of Shadow Frost on the Venomoth. Despite her best efforts, the unholy attack consumed her, covering her body in a sinister frost, before she fell to the ground, dead.

Thomas attempted to reach for the Pokeball of Ripper, his Scizor, in order to defend himself from the frightful Shadow Pokemon.

The moth fell to the ground, dead.[break][break]

But Temp was focused on the battle with the strange pokemon. His Kabutops was one he actually cared about; and that hit looked deadly to his poor fossil. The Kabutops raised her claws to try and dodge. Yet the hit never came.[break][break]

Temp had tossed another pokeball.[break][break]

Between the Kabutops was a Gabite, another piece of fodder from the Rocket reserves. The Solar Blade had pierced it straight through the chest. The dragon coughed up a sticky glob of blood into the Ceruledge's face as it expired.[break][break]

The Shadow Glaceon, seeing his opening on Thomas Benoit while this was happening, surged forward with a Freezy Frost. Ice gathered around him as he surged forward, kicking at the man. Unknown to Temp and his pokemon, another rift had opened behind the previous E4 member.[break][break]

Seeing this as another chance, Temp flung a Scatterbang into the Ceruledge's eyes in the hopes he could drive it off.

The sight of the Ceruledge impaling a Gabite and killing it distracted Thomas, who looked on in horror at the death of another Pokemon. Meanwhile, the Ceruledge let out a satisfied cry, as blood was coughed up onto his face.

This gave the Glaceon the opening it needed to kick Thomas, sending him careening through the rift, knocked unconscious by the blow from the Shadow Pokemon. Even if the Scatterbang didn't drive Mordred through the rift, the sight of his master being knocked through it would.

The duo would end up going through the rift, ending up back in Granite Cave.

Mordred, after getting his bearings, noticed his master was unconscious. Acting quickly, Mordred latched onto Thomas' unconscious body, and whisked him away through Phantom Force, intending to get him to a League medic.
