Johanna wasn’t exactly keen on being down here again. She had grown far too familiar with the Ultra Deep Sea and its inhabitants. Yet here she was accompanied by a man she knew only through reputation.

As the job description had informed, their purpose here today was to extract valuable resources from the area. But first they had to deal with the dangers of radiation. For the moment she kept outside of the danger zone, but she knew they had to cross into it.

Whoever went first would be taking the brunt, which honestly felt unfair to both of them so she turned to the man and asked. “Do you want to go in at the same time?” She figured the radiation would cause less problems if they stepped into the dangerzone at the same time.

Once again, Thomas found himself venturing into the 'worst' part of the Ultra Sea. This time, he was accompanied by another Gym Leader, one he hadn't met before, but who he was familiar enough with, by reputation.

The former member of the Elite Four was prepared to take the brunt of Eternatus' madness on his own, until Johanna proposed they enter together. With a nod, Thomas would cross over into the danger zone at the same time with her.

Eternatus’s madness while a heavy toll proved bearable once shared.

But be that as it may, they still had to be careful. Whatever Gifts Eternatus thought to give them weren’t the only dangers here. And so she summoned one of her Pokemon.

The Pallosand manifested in front of her. Curious about the location but seemingly otherwise unaffected, for now.

“Keep an eye out for any dangers while we do some mining.” Was the only command given to the ghost.

It nodded and spread itself thin to cover as much ground as possible.

Johanna turned back to Thomas, and with a bit of a cheeky grin said. “Let’s get to work, shall we?”

After all they needed to mine as much as they possibly could.

This was not the first time Thomas suffered the effects of Necrozma's madness. During his previous trip with Michael Navidson, Thomas and the Gym Leader both endured Necrozma's madness together.

Though unlike the last time, Thomas wouldn't make the mistake of focusing on just mining alone.

Thomas would bring out his Clawitzer, Scizor, and Pangoro. While the Pangoro focused on mining, Ripper acted as security, fending off any of the Pokemon that came their way. Meanwhile, Colt would attempt to aid Thomas and Johanna by giving them the occasional Heal Pulse, in between sniping the threats that came their way.

The Poison Tera Crystals glow bright as all manner of terrible things appear, drawn from the conscious of those affected by the Eternatus core. Eventually, these manifested figures will expire, disintegrating into nothing but residual Dynamax Energy.

Johanna went to work mining as well as she could. From time to time she would glance toward Thomas, just making sure he was doing alright on his end. After all, she was feeling the radiation reaching for her mind at the edges constantly.

It was on one of these glances that she caught sight of something that began to manifest. Splatters of a white liquid floated in the air, circling something that moments later appeared as a small pink shape with stubby legs, comparatively long arms, and a star shaped crown with wish tags upon.

For a moment it seemed to only ponder their reasoning for being here. But then it attacked, sending the white splattering liquid at Johanna.

Pallosand quickly reformed, saving Johanna from white certain death. Luckily the appearing Milrachi did not seem to pose the vaste strength of its legendary half as it quickly fell to a combined HYPNOSIS and EARTH POWER assault.

Though the support from their healers did help take the edge off, Thomas could still feel the influence of Eternatus wracking his brain. He would glance over to the Gym Leader, in order to check on her as well.

As Johanna was dealing with an abomination, a fusion between a Poochyena and Galvantula pounced towards Thomas. An amalgamation between Shadow and Taze, two beloved Pokemon Thomas had lost at different points in his life. The creature let out a monstrous bark, as it attempted to maul Thomas.

Ripper would meet the fusion head-on with a Bullet Punch, sending it flying, and turning to dust.

Still, through these translucent barriers, you catch a glimpse of a nearby planet. One that looks suspiciously like the one you all live in—except that a large portion of it seems covered in land.[break][break]

You must escape with your gathered material. Your ally or allies may be incapacitated by the paranoia settling in their psyches, or perhaps, the eldritch mutations beginning to metamorphose their body or bodies.[break][break]

Depending on how much your characters have mined, you may need to lessen your extracted load to ensure successful escape from this wretched place. After all, the horrors that reside here may make chase.

Her battle was rather quick, and she had yet to look over at Thomas’s battle. But that did not halt the situation from developing further.

Eye-like shapes with translucent barriers allowing her to gaze at another world gave her pause to her continued presence here. The strange sight even send chills down her spine.

“We should leave.” Johanna decided to voice her concerns even as Thomas was taking care of another amalgamation Pokemon.

She quickly grabbed what she could of her haul and moved to get out of there.
