Captain Shalin Nariya of Rustboro received a standing ovation after her acceptance speech, donning her yellow badge and armband. Afterward, roughly half the Rangers gathered before her followed her to a corner of Rustboro Park closest to Petalburg Woods. She needed the space for the demonstration she had promised the Rangers working under her, as a way to get to know her. With the Pokémon it involved, those being a Scyther, Shiny Beedrill, Flygon, Seismitoad, Kommo-o, and Venusaur, the demonstration was guaranteed to be loud. Given the occasion, getting the noise clearance from the city was not too difficult.

Wearing her green-scaled Sygna Suit, Shalin stood above Queen Zing's lowered wing, letting it lift her off the ground. Both her and her Flygon glowed a faint green as Infinity Energy flowed between them. Many of her observers gasped as she and her Beedrill were both somehow fine, the translucent appendage intact despite bearing the weight of a lithe human. She stretched her other wing, fluttering it fast enough to become a blur, yet just below the threshold of human hearing.

She wouldn't... would she?

Today, Dorian was not here to cause trouble. Instead, the Mad Dog, under the guise of Jason Jaeger, a businessman from a Region close to Unova, was out playing with his son, Demetrius.

The Mad Dog, who was dressed in a finely tailored suit, smiled as he watched his son play. The boy was riding around on the back of his Volcarona. The young boy laughed as the fluffy fire moth flew around in circles.

For a moment, Dorian stepped out to buy the three of them treats, an ice cream for his son, and himself. And a special treat for his Volcarona.

As he returned, he saw the gathering of Rangers, as they applauded their new Captain. Dorian, from beneath his shades, studied the woman. Rather small, but had a formidable-looking team on her. Though he was on his best behavior today, he still had the opportunity to study his enemy.

She would.

Queen Zing stretched the wing Shalin was sitting on, a cue for the Ranger to hold on tight. Gasps came from the crowd as the translucent appendage flapped at the speed of a small bird, her green hair rippling. Several gasps came from the Rangers watching their new Captain in her suit, its green glow and that of her Flygon growing brighter as the wings sped up.

The giant wasp's wings began to roar, Queen Zing taking to the air and tilting her body to compensate for the uneven load. The rider disappeared into a streak of green light, a distorted scream of pure thrill coming from her mouth as Rustboro Park turned into a swirl of color in her eyes. Nearly half the onlookers' jaws dropped in awe at the physics-defying feat. Nearly half turned away, thinking Shalin could go flying off the rapidly-vibrating wing at any moment.

"Cover your ears, my boy. Cup your palms over them tightly.", he warned Demitrius.

Upon seeing his father do just that, the toddler imitated his father. This spared the two of them the worst effects of the loud vibrations that ripped through the area.

Dorian looked up to see the woman, sitting atop the Beedrill's wing. For a moment, he was astonished at the audacious display before him. Then it occurred to him.

Was this woman wearing a Sygna Suit?

He had heard reports of the benefits of those who wielded a Sygna Suit. Not only from the bonds they formed with their Pokemon. But being able to survive what mortals usually couldn't. Pulling off feats thought impossible.

He was impressed.

When the vibration stopped, a woozy-looking Shalin catching her breath after being shaken about too fast to see, it would have been clear to Dorian and any onlookers that refused to avert their gazes that she indeed was wearing a Sygna Suit. It wasn't a Beedrill one, though. It was of her Flygon, Sandy. Flygon and Beedrill had similar enough abilities that perhaps it would explain to him why she could do what she did.

Those who had the courage to stay, despite the wicked vibrations pounding the air, applauded Shalin for her display. Though she looked dizzy even after a minute or two, there was also a look of overwhelming joy on her face. What would leave anyone else feeling sick and ready to hurl, she seemed to love. Even so, she seemed to be taking her time stepping down from her perch on the green wasp's wing.
