LOCATED ON THE CENTRAL COAST, the canary hall is a beach house renovated to reflect a studious and well-maintained academy. built out of beautiful fortree timber and rustboro stone, the hall features an extensive library surrounding a pristine courtyard, and is reminiscent of a galarian boarding school.[break][break][break][break]

[attr="class","nameBody"]Morgan's Pokemon were enjoying their poffins outside in the midst of the courtyard, as he supervised the lot of the seating on a nearby bench of high-quality Rustboro stone. Morgan himself did not make the poffins, they were provided for, but it was a rare chance for his Pokemon to enjoy their lives once in a while. A majority of their lives being spent released in the middle of the night meant that they were not accustomed to daytime, but even the ghost Pokemon in his repertoire enjoyed the sun.[break][break]

That is of course until he spotted his Zorua attempting to pickpocket a nearby festival-goer. "Hey, Lupin, stop!" Came his words, attempting to command his Pokemon and at the same time notifying the person of his impending thievery. It would not be a good look on his probation if his creatures were back to no good again.

"delta, you shit!"

he instinctively moves his legs in a way to push a larger pokemon away, though it appears more as a kick for something as small as a zorua. he freezes as he notices the mistake, eyes seeing delta walk in with his tail wagging at the scene.

he faces the other trainer with an apologetic expression. "uh, sorry. force of habit."

his pokemon sneaking in behind him was nothing new. most of them learned to behave afterwards, though he cannot really let his guard down around his mightyena.

Following behind Kyle, Bryony is witness to the atrocity he commits. The poor zorua barely stands a chance and she covers her mouth in horror. Her gaze shoots to the trainer, an accusing look caught in her eyes. She gives him a small bump on the shoulder with her fist.

"Kyle! You need to pay attention!" she says in a low hiss, slipping around him to go and check on the poor zorua. Bryony crouches down before it, offering a hand out to sniff.

For a change, she does not have her Altaria out.

Taking the opportunity to explore a bit, she returns to Canary Hall with Cream, her Audino, trailing at her side. Carrying an ice cream a piece, the pair savored their treats quietly, simply enjoying the company of one another. Between Rose's cream dress, her pink hair, and wide blue eyes, there is an uncanny resemblance to the Audino, who is blissfully unaware; lapping up the sugar-sweetness with a relish rivaled by Rose.[break][break]

Rose would have been contented to mind her own for the most part, but being as this was her inaugural foray into Aqua-Fes, she thought it wise to at least make an effort to explore and interact with the other Clamperls. The decision to join was not difficult: the Clamperls stood for all the same ideals she held true to her heart, and she figured it might present an opportunity to meet others who reflected her own values.[break][break]

What she saw was anything but, though.[break][break]

Initially her attention was drawn away from enjoying the moment because she heard a shout, a warning, which in itself wasn't problematic. It was how that name was shouted which sent the chill of alarm to raise the downy hairs of her arms. Her crystalline eyes expeditiously locate the source, then shift towards where their attention was being directed. There, clear as day and none-too-surreptitious she sees the shadow of a furry little Zorua nosing around where it had no business. That's not charitable, that's not credibility![break][break]

She reflexively balled her dainty fists, becoming very aware of the tightness which spread across her face. Rose can feel how her brows have dipped and lips are pursed close to her teeth and for a moment she sits with that festering feeling. Cream looks up and wordless as she was, Rose knows to take a deep breath and loosen herself. "I suppose that was rather judgemental. At least he's correcting them." The Audino blinks and resumes delicately lapping at her ice cream in response.[break][break]

Relatively calmed, Rose approaches the man who is presumably associated with the wily Zorua. She offers a thin smile and shakes her head in a show of faux reprimanding. "That one's a liability. Looks like you have your hands full." Her voice is effervescently light and hardly offensive. Cream offers up her partially eaten ice cream in greeting. Rose smiles softly at the gesture and returns her wide blue eyes towards the stranger. "I can't imagine that would be condoned by the festival committee. Maybe it is. I don't know. Have you participated in Aqua-Fes before?"[break][break]

[attr="class","nameBody"]A kick was not as vicious as a pokemon attack, and one launched by a human was slow and unwieldy, moreover, the kick was not a full force one, allowing the Zorua to deftly leap on top of the kick and leap back, blowing a raspberry at kyle lopez as it does. [break][break]

As the trainer jumps towards the Zorua, it feigns injury, rolling on its belly in an attempt to garner attention. As @bryony lends a hand to sniff, Lupin's nose twitches slightly, smelling no food, it leaps back on all fours and paws its ears. "No harm was done." Morgan replied towards the man who had accidentally attempted to kick his Pokemon. "Try to be more careful."[break][break]

Morgan's desire for battle and his desire to retaliate had all but pissed away in jail. He just wanted to sit in the precious daylight when he could, and even that seemed too much to ask for. [break][break]

That one's a liability. Looks like you have your hands full. Morgan turned his head to @poufkin. She was certainly quick to judge its utility. "He was not trained for battle," Morgan replied. "And being kicked is not the worst thing it has endured." Morgan smiled as it leaped back onto his shoulder, only to hop back down and share the Audino's ice cream. [break][break]

"No this is the first time." He replied as he looked towards Rose's direction, then back towards the other two. "How about you three?"

he heaves a sigh of relief upon finding out he wasn't getting in trouble. he can probably bullshit his way out of it if he did, but he doesn't trust his ability to do so.

"sorry bry. sometimes, people do not have the ability to predict accidents." that's what he's trying to push it off as. he turns to @valyx , offering another apologetic nod at him. "will keep that in mind. thanks."

he was ready to go back to the warfront, where the fun really was, when he the question @poufkin asked @valyx is thrown to everyone else. he scratches his head as he tries to remember the last time he participated.

"i join these kind of things almost every year when i was younger. it's fun, kinda."

the trip to johto where he met @bryony and everyone else had cut his streak. it got stale when he started to compete with the same people almost every year anyways that perhaps his break makes things more interesting this year.

Bryony straightens back up, watching the Zorua for a moment longer before she retreats to Kyle's side. She folds an arm over her chest and keeps her head down, lips folded together. Her fingers rub against her bare arm.

"I've never um - participated," she answers, Johto accent audible in her quiet words. Bryony peeks at them from under her lashes, taking as quick of an assessment as she can without letting her gaze linger. The man leaves her on edge but the woman seems nice enough that Bryony finds herself hoping they'll get a chance to talk later.

Stormy was honestly drawn to the hall by the sound of voices and the pitter patter of puppy feet. Eden had grown antsy and curious, sniffing around the corner of each room in search of the Mightyena she had been following. Although not normally the friendly type, she was feeling exceptionally good this afternoon and willing to set aside her own self interest to be friendly.[break][break]

She'd jog to catch up to the steadily running Ninetales. She only slowed as she came around the corner to see four people and a couple Pokemon. The fire fox would sit neatly back on her paws to merely observe while appearing indifferent and a little stand offish.[break][break]

he did not really expect Stormy Silph to be with the clamperls to be honest. he had somehow expected her to join the gorebysses or something cause fire-types are supposed to be red, but then again, not everyone was as shallow as him that only chooses the house to align himself with with the color they come with.

She's a sucker for the cute things, even if misbehaved, and beams down at the Zorua, who'd since come to heel. While admiring the handsome creature, it's keeper mentions how it's purpose wasn't battle, and how he'd endured more than kicking. Her expression is all twisted up in disbelief and disgust. Had she misheard him? "What? Excuse me?" Utterly horrified, Rose watches the creature scale his person, and is flabbergasted by @valyx 's calm demeanor surrounding what he'd just confessed. When she speaks her voice is timid, sedate with remorse. "That's awful... poor thing..." But it picks up a hair to take on a marginally more optimistic tone: "I am glad he is with you now, then." Rose gives the man the benefit of the doubt, oblivious to the stranger's history, associations, or true character. He seemed fine enough, and his calm disposition and matter-of-factness served to counter what insecurities clandestinely plagued her.[break][break]

Down went the Zorua to take part in Cream's ice cream. Rose smiles fondly, even though she was pretty sure the Audino had intended it for @valyx . That was fine. Cream had no qualms sharing with Lupin instead. Delighted, she wiggles her whole body, twitching her cotton fluffed tail, apparently pleased to have someone to share with.[break][break]

Her eyes follow towards the others in their proximity and she smiles broadly with each response in turn. She takes mental note of her teammates, eyes resting softly on the girl ( @bryony ), hyper aware of her clammed up posture, familiar with the aversion of eyes. She's younger, but Rose can recognize her former self in that mirror. She does not press it now, but there is the deep pang of sympathy which draws her. To kyle lopez , she nods approvingly. "Excellent, I think that makes you our resident captain then... being that none of us particularly know what we are doing?" her voice trails higher and she looks around, open to any contesting should that assumption have been wrong.[break][break]

When Stormy Silph arrives, Rose is eager to welcome her "Hello there! We're all just getting acquainted, don't think we can consider ourselves friends before knowing each other's names. I'm Rose, and that's..." She turns around to locate her Audino companion... who presently had chocolate streaks marring her pale fur, happy as a clamperl with her darker companion. "That's Cream."[break][break]

As Kyle engages with the woman he seems to know, habit draws Bryony to grab the hem of his shirt, pinning it very slightly between fingers. She positions herself close enough to not make it too obvious. The action is enough to sooth her and give her more comfort in this unfamiliar setting. Bryony is, at times, a conundrom: eager to explore, eager to discover, and yet timid of new places and new people.

"I'm Bryony," she says, glancing at Rose with a small smile. Her gaze falls to the Audino and the smear of chocolate around its mouth. Bryony folds her lips together and giggles. Her other hand raises to press to her mouth.

She takes another glance at the woman Kyle had spoken to.

he supposed that Stormy Silph 's reasoning was as shallow as his. good to know that he wasn't the only one not to take the entire sorting thing seriously. he only chose clamperl this time cause he dyed his hair blonde and it fits his aesthetic.

"i expected red 'cause fire is often red to be honest," he replies.

he turns to @poufkin when she considers a position he hasn't even considered for him. captain sounds nice for a lot of people, though kyle wasn't exactly the person people should expect leadership from.

"oh, we don't need a captain." he indirectly declines the position. "we just usually do what we want. i don't particularly care about winning either, so i'd probably do a bad job at captaining."

@bryony 's action is ignored for the most part. he's used to it and has gotten used to it that he doesn't really care by now. she introduces herself, which puts kyle next in line for the introduction.

"i'm kyle," he tells rose. his mightyena comes in after hearing the pleasantries go. kyle picks up the canine with its front legs until it stands on its hind legs. "this is delta. he's useless."

the dark-type does not seem to recognize the insult thrown at him by his trainer as he focuses his attention to the new face, eyes bright and tail wagging.
