Taking a moment to admire the chambers differences from his own, he finally moves off to the bar. An interesting addition, even if it wasn't his taste, he could see the appeal.

Greyson is received with a smile. Navy mans the bar, happy to see his appointed opponent arrive on time. With Melody Miro’s promotion and MATIAS SILPH’s house arrest, the two of them have been shouldering greater and greater burdens.[break][break]
“Thanks, Connors. Good to see ya” He says amicably, pulling down a bottle of the Elite’s own mead. Two glasses are filled with honey liquid. “Have a drink with me. Zero and Shuwen can go at it when we’re ready.”[break][break]
Afterwards, he wastes no time. These are hard times, and he needs the drink.[break][break]
“Surprised you haven’t swung by sooner, man. What’s Goode got you doing these days?” His smile frays at the edge, trying to make jovial conversation like a lifelong friend didn’t pass beyond the veil just last month.

Greyson complies, moving from his resting position, eyes still wandering on the furnished old wood.

He pulls a stool out, throwing his legs over until one set of toes hooks beneath the footrest. He eyes the mead with narrowing eyes, but accepts the offer.

With the flick of another wrist he sends the Iron Valiant out. Her scarlet armor glimmers beneath the light.

"Not much, the usual." He didn't want to admit his own mental weakness had led to him stagnating on multiple fronts. Even now, this challenge, it consumed time he would need to catch up on other avenues; nevertheless, it was a step forwarded he needed to accomplish.

"Going through the gauntlet just took a lower priority to everything else. But, I figure, I got some time now, so why not?"

“Mmm.” Greyson’s the usual is received with a barman’s amicable nod. There’s much and more left unsaid when a man says that, and Navy chooses not to pry. Instead, he simply sips on his own mead and looks to the Iron Valiant.[break][break]
“That’s a pretty paint job, Connors.” It makes him wish he’d committed to bringing his own Iron Valiant, but he would not deprive Shuwen of his fight. Something tells him Rocket will come to rue this scarlet swordswoman.[break][break]
“Part of me wonders why Goode keeps champion challenges running. We’re at war. Seems…too normal, having Elite Four matches. With everything that’s…” He stops himself. To speak of Kyle is to spoil the mood – his own, if not Greyson’s.[break][break]
“Anyway. We’re living through one of the most important wars in history. What do you think a champ’s supposed to be in times like these?” Greyson’s already passed his interview, but the sheriff can’t resist the question. It is, after all, the question when you walk the warrior’s road.

"You need a sense of normalcy." He says, filling in the gap where Navy leaves off.

As much as some people didn't want to admit—Kyle was the third person in recent history to take that position. He'd held it the longest, but the mortality rate arguably one of the highest.

"That question seems more philosophical than a simple listing of requirements." He taps the counter with two fingers, considering. "Someone strong. A wall. Unbreakable." He pauses before adding a last piece. "They also need morals."

He nudges his head to the field. He wasn't.. the talk-about-his-feelings type. Not typically.

On the field of battle is where he spoke the loudest—something he figured Navidson would understand well.

Nodding to the other man, hand leaving the handle of his drink, Greyson stands and fixates on the battle.

"Zero start us off." Slamming the butt of her staff against the chamber floor, her QUARK DRIVE thrums to life, an ELECTRIC TERRAIN spreading like a spiderweb beneath both Pokémon.

Taking stock of her opponent Zero's processor makes the necessary changes to her engine—her opponent would likely be focused on strength so she would need speed. In a flash of scarlet she surges forward with a horizontal PSYCHO CUT.

Greyson lets a small smile settle on his lips.

"This will be fun."

His favored sparring partner among Navy’s fighters is an Iron Valiant. Many of them, fresh born from the rift, are drunk upon their own power and easily dispatched. Zero, Shuwen realizes as she closes in, is Roland’s equal.[break][break]
The difference between life and death, things that look so easy before a relaxed crowd, is a matter of inches. His body pivots to the side, just long enough for Shuwen to thrust his fist out, a hefty blow meant to gain him distance in their close combat.[break][break]
“Ora!” Shuwen shouts, a war cry resounding from his soul.[break][break]
Only now does his trainer speak.[break][break]
“Damn right it’s gonna be.” He makes no secret of his own smile, the sort ancient marauders wore when they terrorized distant Galarian shores.

Urshifu's fist meets the long shield of Zero's WIDE GUARD. The Iron Valiant's digital violet hues peek out from over the lip and they hold no discernable emotion.

She hadn't been given a chance to fight a creature like this before—she would relish the opportunity.

Using the tower shield as a buffer, Zero brings the haft of the spear back and executes a series of quick jabs, embracing CLOSE COMBAT as easily as her opponent.
