As Kano decided to stay above ground, Rufus barked eagerly. The Arcanine wanted to play with the Hisuian Growlithe. Soon, they'd be joined by another Hisuian Growlithe, this one wearing a green collar to mark him out.

Thomas smiled as the woman grabbed a coat off the rack. "We take cleaning the coats very seriously.", he assured her.

"Oh yes, Duvet Ranch is host to many different Pokemon. Many of which don't survive too well on farmland. So for that purpose, underground biomes were built in order to give these Pokemon their ideal climate.", he'd fill her in, walking as he talked.

When they would finally catch up to the group of Pokemon, they would end up in an icy cavern. A Sneasel and Weavile pair were skating along slick ice, while one of the Audino was cuddling up to a Cubchoo. A Glaceon pounced Pulse, giving the fluffy Audino an affectionate lick on top of his head, much to the delight of the healer.

"Not many areas in Hoenn accommodate Ice-types. So to make sure they can thrive, we dedicated this chamber to our icy friends.", he'd remark, smiling.

The Ceruledge's blade managed to slash the Mega Absol, bringing it down. Despite the fact that Mordred had gained little in the way of health, the haunted armor was satisfied with bringing down one of his opponents.

When the next battler was brought out, the Ceruledge found himself too tired to dodge the Bubblebeam in time. The armor would collapse to the ground, giving Josh a point in his favor.

After the announcer called it, Thomas recalled the Ceruledge, and brought in his Zoroark, Kuma Lisa.

The Zoroark wasted no time in opening up with a Night Daze, attempting to blanket the field in a darkness that would lash out at the Lanturn.

Though the support from their healers did help take the edge off, Thomas could still feel the influence of Eternatus wracking his brain. He would glance over to the Gym Leader, in order to check on her as well.

As Johanna was dealing with an abomination, a fusion between a Poochyena and Galvantula pounced towards Thomas. An amalgamation between Shadow and Taze, two beloved Pokemon Thomas had lost at different points in his life. The creature let out a monstrous bark, as it attempted to maul Thomas.

Ripper would meet the fusion head-on with a Bullet Punch, sending it flying, and turning to dust.

The Ceruledge would be struck by the Night Slash. The ghost let out a cry of pain as the attack nearly took him out. Despite this, he barely held on.

Mustering all the strength he had left, the Ceruledge lunged at the Absol, blades flared up. If he could strike the opponent with his Bitter Blade, then he'd be able to recover some of the vitality he lost.
