That’s the logical explanation for @gaultier’s unnecessarily sassy response, right? He’s old and it’s past his bedtime. Honestly, it kind of makes Ceri feel bad for him, it must really suck to be a grandpa, so she decides to be the bigger person (which is considerably hard for her, 5’2” as she is) and let go of the matter.

She gives Gaultier her sweetest and most adorable smile, tilting her head slightly to make it extra cute, and even once they keep on walking, that smile of hers remains… up until she’s presented with the prospect of ziplining to the other side of a canyon.

”Hmm…” Narrowing her eyes, she watches closely as Gaultier and Gerald Kaiser go first, proving that it works. It’s obviously still not safe at all, but her concern is a different one altogether. She turns to look at Oscar, nodding towards the jacket. ”That’ll cause too much friction, you might not go all that fast.”

It definitely looks like oscar clayton is excited by the prospect of ziplining, so better make sure he has a good time, right?

”I’ll make a note for future expeditions to pack pulleys among their supplies, since it looks like there’s a lot of canyons. Oh! I do have a couple of carabiner hooks and rope with me… That’ll probably do.” As she speaks, she rummages through her bag, rigging a simple system to safely use the cable to zipline. Then Ceri does the oddest thing of all: she grabs a couple of heavy rocks and puts them in the bag, giving Oscar the most basic of explanations. ”I’m too light. Weight adds speed. Wouldn’t wanna get stuck in the middle of the canyon, no?”

There’s a smirk, but the amount of physics she’s had to apply during this expedition really isn’t sitting well with Ceri.

”Looks like gravity works like it does on earth so… Here goes nothing.” With that, she drops onto their improvised zipline, having already called her Toxtricity back to its pokéball. As much as she may have been against it, there’s a delighted shout doubtlessly brought upon by the sudden spike in adrenaline, and when her boots meet solid ground once more, her heart is beating at incredible speed.

Unfortunately, a metallic hum nearby quickly does away with her glee.
