Law can feel it already, the poison seeping into his little veins. This was now a test of endurance, and one that the Kubfu has to manage their way through. Even if they get the strike in, they feel themselves tumble backwards, before sliding.[break][break]

But Queen Zing continued to circle around Law, the bear forced himself to stand at the ready.[break][break]

As the circle comes around, Ashley orders it out. "Every needle, make sure to give it back. You got this."[break][break]

Even if it meant more pain, every strike of the TWINEEDLES is met with a quick-as-lightning COUNTER back, rapidly made. If Law can't lock Queen Zing down, he'll do damage to slow her down.[break][break]

Ah. This was what battles were about, after all. As Ashley watches the Beheeyem and the Trainer use their Z-move, all Ash can do is watch. Law, with little to no chance, is blasted with that super PSYCHIC, the bear landing on all fours after the blast connects.[break][break]

It's not a knockout until seconds later, when Law's adrenaline runs out. But almost like clockwork, the moment he begins to fall, Ash is already present, holding him in his arms, and cradling him like a baby.[break][break]

"Good fight, dude. Gave Law a good workout." He shoots Hideo a smile, petting the little Kubfu who was now snoring quietly.[break][break]

Every loss is not a total defeat. Ash will do much better next year.

That Meltan came back, and given the chance to push forward, that little metal man would have absolutely caused more problems. But Law was able to knock it back with the COUNTER. But now... as soon as the Meltan can no longer fight?[break][break]

Law holds a paw out to the little metal guy. The bear smiles. He was happy to fight such a good opponent.[break][break]

"Good fight, man. Really." Ash responds, hands in his pockets, as he takes a step forward, and pats Law's head, the little Kubfu blushing ear-to-ear with a comfy smile.[break][break]

"Look forward to round 2, one of these days."

The buzzing of the battle court starts, that droning sound one Ash remembered. The TAILWIND is absolutely NUTS, but then came the POISON JABS, and all Law can do is respond in kind.[break][break]

With intense amounts of focus, Law turns his paws away, and bats each jab away, attempting to keep the poison from himself. If even one knicks him, that's it.[break][break]

The PSYCHIC keeps the bear back, the type advantage pushing him back, but Law roars out, attempting to harness whatever he can. Focusing every little bit forward, his only desire to race through the blast, and win.[break][break]

Breaking free, the Kubfu, bruised up, runs forward in a loud pitter-patter, and goes for a jumpkick, diving downwards to make one final AERIAL ACE.[break][break]

Law is able to land the shot, but his stance is a little too slow. His feet tremble, and the moment he flips back into a stance, the Charizard snaps back. Mega might be over, but that's still one helluva fire lizard, and the bear has to throw it back.[break][break]

"Keep him back!"[break][break]

Law was a second too late. And though the momentum of the THUNDER PUNCH comes, he attempts to snap back with a little INNER FOCUS, attempting to throw a barrage of paw fists with some CLOSE COMBAT. But one big punch stops him in his tracks. The bear collapses to a knee, as he course corrects to a DETECT. Too little too late. The damage was done.[break][break]

Law is still standing, grabbing onto the Charizard's fist. Unconscious standing up.[break][break]

Ash makes a sigh. This is what he expected... but. Law always did try his best. And Ashley commended that. With a quick waddle forward, and returning of Law, Ash waves out towards Roy. "Thanks for the match, guy." He had to get his hands on one of those Charizard stones.

The way this guy seemed overly concerned for his Pokemon, meant that Law needed to hold back. But it isn't just that. Ash's memory over Landon Cassidy's brutal mutual kill of his own Bewear had Ash's own face riddle with sweat.[break][break]

So. Allowing the Bewear to come, the Kubfu would see the snarl, and respond with a nod. A gesture forward. One paw.[break][break]

The moment that SUPER POWER hits, he would use DETECT, and respond with a single headbutt IRON HEAD. But instead of going hard...[break][break]

Ash smiles, as he just bonks him softly.[break][break]

Eh... yeah. That was bound to happen eventually. Ash's eyes are downcast. He looks nothing like he did before. His hair still silver, his eyes still the same, nothing about who he was now was what he was then. Just the sheepish aspect. He wasn't about to explain why he had black bags basically always under his eyes now.[break][break]

That and the cane he used to walk. Law, the Kubfu, on his heels to help.[break][break]

"Hey, Shalin. Been awhile," He smiles genuinely. "just call me Ash these days. K?" With Law now taking a step forward, and hopping in place, taking in a breath before getting in stance...[break][break]

"Don't go easy on an old friend. You too, Queen Zing." He still remembers that Beedrill. The day Shalin was so happy to find the Mega Stone in that tomb.[break][break]

Things were so much simpler back then.

The wing came up to take the brunt of the force so effortlessly, and upon being slapped away by the wing, Law begins to spin standing, before the firey blitz comes for him. The little Kubfu's eyes bulge, the full-body about to charge him down.[break][break]

With paws extended out into a guard, there was no time to block fully. The moment the impact happens, only then, does Law have the ability to DETECT. The pain is excruciating, as he's sent backwards. Even the force of the impact alone, sends the poor little teddy bear careening backwards. Except.[break][break]

"Tenfold!"[break][break]

Both paws grab the wing, and use it to flip upwards. Thrown upwards into a two kick COUNTER as an uppercut.[break][break]

Take it up a- SHIT. That's Mega. Ash's silver eyes look down the black dragon, the blue flame fist something the Kubfu isn't yet sure of. He needed to test the water, see how well he-[break][break]

"Law!" The Kubfu takes the fist forward, the attack striking the little bear in the chest, and sending him back. But as the little bear slides, he spits to the side.[break][break]

He didn't hear no bell.[break][break]

Pumping his fist back, the bear races back forward, one helluva leap, a spin kick meant to slapshot the monstrous dragon with another AERIAL ACE, until the bear stops, falling down to the ground, before unleashing the barrage of CLOSE COMBAT to the dragon.[break][break]

The bear wasn't going down that easy![break][break]

Pushing back on this before it was a problem was nice, and what with the ROUND, it attempts to mess with the Kubfu's head. The good news? That Kubfu's head was made of some tough stuff, as he attempts to push through for his Iron Head.[break][break]

As soon as he lands, the Kubfu is quick to roundhouse kick for an AERIAL ACE, attempting to smack it away for some distance![break][break]

Fight over.[break][break]

The Z-Move has the Zeraora's HYPERSONIC PLASMA CHARGE smash with that matrix of lightning, the Kubfu overwhelmed by what, exactly, to DETECT through. It doesn't matter though, because as it hits, the bear feels himself hit with one or the other; and its too much.[break][break]

As soon as he falls to a knee, the battle is over. And the Kubfu smashes a paw into the ground. He's not happy with the turn of events. But as Ash smiles, he gestures with a wave.[break][break]

"And so it ends." Running a hand through his fluffy silver hair, fluffier than it had ever been, he just smiles. "Good fight."[break][break]

Blink. Oh.... great, he's a sweet guy. 'Crap'. Now there was no backing out. And as Ash rubs the back of his head, he just sighs. "Sounds peachy." He can't help but feel the small bit of sweat dripping down his neck. Oh, how he didn't want to do this.[break][break]

As they find a nice little park to have the battle in, Ash turns on a heel as he looks over his shoulder. "Alright man, good luck." He tries to be nice, despite the fact that he needs his cane to walk.[break][break]

The moment the battle begins, Law smashes a paw into the ground, making a tiny crater, before leaping forward with everything he has. "Focus and strike." Ash calls out, before the Kubfu utilizes FOCUS ENERGY, immediately followed by AERIAL ACE![break][break]
