With Mirage at his side he made his way to Mauville. Which really wasn’t that far since he lived in Verdanturf. However he took his time just enjoying the walk with his his Zoroark. It wasn’t like he was in any rush. He had plenty of time to get to where he needed to be without being late. He had left earlier than need be just so he could enjoy being outside with Mirage.

Mirage usually was outside his pokeball. It was to the point that one had to wonder why he even had a pokeball for him. But he still had it in around if he needed it. In fact he would be needing it today since he was going to get some swimming lessons. If he was being honest he wasn’t real sure how this whole thing had come about. How it was that he was going to get swim lessons from the gym leader.

Perhaps he had too much free time being on probation. He didn’t have the details but apparently the gym leader was on some sort of probation where he couldn’t go near the gym. It was best to leave well enough alone though. The gym leaders exile from the gym didn’t have anything to do with him so he wouldn’t bring it up.

Nope he would just pretend it was totally normal to get swimming lessons from a gym leader. Even lost in thought he was able to navigate his way through Mauville and to the agreed meeting place. Since Josh didn’t seem to be around yet he took the time to pet Mirage before he want send him back into his pokeball.[break] Josh Devlin

This would be his first time facing a gym. Though he wouldn’t be battling said gym leader, not in a Pokémon battle anyway. Nope they would be competing in a race. Since hearing about the gyms racing challenge he had been curious about racing Pokémon. Sure he would ride his Zoroark and even go fast on him. But competing? He had never thought of doing something like that.

Mirage stood next to him as he waited to be called. Once they called him he would go over to where the race was taking place. He had heard Josh was fast but hopefully Mirage would be able to stand up to him. The strangely colored Zoroark seemed ready to go or so he assumed.

Mirage wasn’t real open with his emotions. Only really showing emotions when he wanted to or if he thought Axel was being threatened. He would like to think Mirage was raring to go though.

So he wasn’t exactly sure how he had been tasked with doing this. Apparently he was supposed to clean up around the place without overexerting himself. Which was easier said than done. Considering he was to box up some of the stuff they didn’t regularly use and put it up in the attic. Which was undoubtedly filled with dust. He wondered if his sibling had thought about that little detail before telling him to do this since apparently they would be busy.

Luckily he had gotten a heads up about cleaning and had planned accordingly. Doubting he would be able to accomplish the task himself he had sent out a request of aid. He had looked at the computer a few hours ago to see that someone would be over to help. Hopefully they would be good at helping him out and could take the heavier boxes up to the attic.

Until the person arrived he would try to do what he could to help. Grabbing ahold of a box he thought he could move he tugged on the box trying to drag it towards the hallway, where the entrance to the attic was, only to lose his grip on the box and fall onto his rear panting. Okay so that box was definitely not going to be moved by him.

He was still trying to catch his breath when he heard a knock at the door. Figuring it was the person that was sent to help him clean he clambered to his feet and made his way to the door. Unlocking it he pulled open the door to greet the person on the other side.

Surprisingly enough in the three years he had been living in Hoenn he had never been to the Oceanic Museum. I’m the books he read a museum definitely seemed like the kind of place he would like. However he was still getting use to the freedom of being able to be a normal kid, even after three years, and had been putting it off.

Usually he was caught up in his pursuit to add more Pokémon to his team so he could take on the gyms. Perhaps he should look into challenging some of them soon though. He sure not everyone started off the gym challenge with a full team. It would definitely make things easier though if he had a full team.

Reaching the end of the line he paid the entrance fee and headed inside his Zoroark trailing after him. He looked around with curiosity before walking over to what looked like a weird rock. So this was the stone from the moon. And where people thought moonstones came from.

He moved back to go to another exhibit and accidentally bumped into someone. He could feel his face heat up with embarrassment as he turned to face the person. I’m so sorry, I didn’t realize anyone had come up behind me.”

He was focused on the book he was reading. Ignoring everything around him. Well that was until the bench was raised up. Shocked he fell over sideways but surprisingly didn’t drop his book. When the bench fell back down he pushed himself back into a sitting position.

Rubbing his shoulder he turned his attention to the red head that was talking to him. ”Oh….ummm don’t worry about it,” he said waving off the others apology. Due to growing up isolated he wasn’t used to interacted with people that were around his age that weren’t his siblings. So he often didn’t know how to talk to them.

While he addressed his Gabite he took off his glasses to make sure they hadn’t gotten damaged when he fell. Even though they were only none prescription he didn’t want them to break. Without his glasses he looked a good bit younger which is why he wore glasses, to make them look older.

Slipping his glasses back on he turned his attention back to the other guy. ”No worries, can’t fault a Pokémon for wanting to run around in the park. Or another kid for that matter,” he stated, though he was sure the redhead was older than him. Though he didn’t think it was by much.

”Anyway my name’s Absalom Steel, but you can call me Axel,” he stated before realizing he was still standing there. ”Oh right, do you want to sit down?” he asked awkwardly gesturing towards the empty spot next to him.[break] Asher Baran

The park. A place he had come to on multiple occasions since finding himself in Hoenn. Going to parks or really going outside wasn’t something he had been allowed to do when he had lived in Alola. His parents concern for him had kept him from being a normal kid so he was trying to make up for the time he has missed whenever he could.

Finding a bench to sit on he sat down. Mirage, his Zoroark, stood beside the bench making sure Absalom would remain safe. After making sure Mirage was keeping an eye on their surroundings he took a book out of his bag. He loved reading in the park there was just something relaxing in reading a book in the park.

It was a pretty heavy book being real thick, but he would be able to read it. Reading books like this were pretty easy especially if it was something he found interesting. Than again he had never come across a complex book he didn’t like.

Opening the book he began to read. There was multiple complex words in the book but that’s what made the book so fun. There was just something about a book with complex words that drew him in. More than a book that someone around his own age would normally read.

The books that were centered around people his own age he usually found boring. There were very few books that was made for people around his own that he actually liked. They didn’t make him think enough like a book with complex words would.

Route 101 one of the places where normal types could be caught. He had come here in the hopes that he could add some more normal types to his party. He favored normal types so he often went out to places like this to try and catch some. However since catching his Glameow, Royal, he hadn’t had much luck catching anything.

He was hoping his luck would finally turn around. Mirage, his zoroark, was out and helping him search for a Pokémon he could catch. He had just turned to see how his companion was doing when something suddenly ran past him. It went by too fast for him to catch what it was but he did hear someone yell out from whatever it was.

”Mirage you think you can illusion yourself into a Tauros?” he asked and he was sure his companion seemed almost offended by the question before illusioning himself into a Tauros. Sighing he climbed on and took pursuit after whoever or whatever it was that had run past him.

As he got closer he could tell it was a dodrio urging the Pokémon faster he allowed his Jigglypuff, Song, out of her pokeball and drew up beside the other person. ”Get on, than I’ll have Song put the dodrio to sleep. Doubt you want me to do that while you’re still on there,” he said speaking loud enough for the older male to hear.[break] Ozni Adebayo
